Zhoukou is a prefecture-level city in eastern Henan province, China. It borders Zhumadian to the southeast, Xuchang and Luohe to the west, Kaifeng to the northwest, Shangqiu to the northeast, and the province of Anhui on all other sides. Its population was 8,953,793 inhabitants at the 2010 census whom 535,738 lived in the built-up made up of Chuanhui district and the northern part of Shangshui county.

    Nanjie is a village in Chengguan , Linying County, Luohe, Henan province, China, widely reported as being the last Maoist village in China. It is under the administration of the town of Chengguan, which also serves as the county seat. In 1992, the GDP of this village exceeded 100 million yuan and became the famous billion village at that time, however, its output growth is proportional to the loans from some national banks of China at that time. These years, since it is unable to pay its huge loans, it is added to the reputation blacklist. Nanjiecun Group is running a 12-hour working system,which broke the Labour Law of the People's Republic of China.

    Xuchang is a prefecture-level city in central Henan province in Central China. It borders the provincial capital of Zhengzhou to the northwest, Kaifeng to the northeast, Zhoukou to the east, Luohe to the southeast, and Pingdingshan to the southwest. Its population was 4,307,488 inhabitants at the final 2010 census, of whom 1,952,666 lived in the built-up area made up of Weidu district, Xuchang county and Changge City largely being urbanized. In 2007, the city was named as one of China's top ten livable cities by Chinese Cities Brand Value Report, which was released at 2007 Beijing Summit of China Cities Forum.
