Paris' 8th Arrondissement - 20 in 20 Day 8 - Le Village Royal, Champs Elysees, and Parc Monceau
Paris' 8th Arrondissement is filled with beautiful places, but not much in the way of food that I would recommend. That's not to say you can't find some great stuff there though, so don't worry! Grab my guide to Paris here: for all the ideas you might need and more while visiting Paris.
Help me make better videos at and then find me on the internet in all of the usual spots:
This was my first time visiting Madeline and St Augustine, as well as le Village Royal (which is where the colorful umbrellas are located) in Paris' 8th arrondissement. Concorde and the Champs Elysees are usually much more accessible, along with the Arc de Triomphe.

FAQ:
How long have you lived in France? On and off for over two years.
What do you miss most about ho- NACHOS
You're always talking about living on some ship. WHAT SHIP? - I made a Draw My Life video that explains a lot here:
Where are you from originally? - Pullman, Washington - a small university/agricultural town near Idaho (and yes, the potatoes are amazing).
What do you film with? - I've made a lot of changes recently, but I try to keep my gear list up to date if you want to see what I use and buy some for yourself:
What do you edit with? - Adobe Premiere - it's pretty much all I've ever used since high school.
Aren't you ever freaked out by leaving your camera behind to film yourself? - Yep. But not too badly - I tend to be careful when I do.
Why are you living in #Paris? - Because I've always wanted to; I feel at home here:
Do you speak French? Oui.
You talk a lot about the books you're working on, what are they about? - They're sci-fi (and fantasy) and I've got a decent pitch for you here:
Do you make money off YouTube? - Ha, no. I wish. It took me over 500 videos to make my first total $100 off adsense. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - The easiest and best way to support me is through Patreon, where you can pitch in as little as $1/mo to help me make better videos:
I don't trust this Patreon thing - can I just paypal you? - Here's my ko-fi if that's your thing (and coffee is your game):
But I want to send you something tangible! - I do have a wishlist on Amazon, though it's a bit complicated with the international shipping situation. This is the US one:
And here's the French wishlist:

A Walk Around The 8th Arrondissement of Paris
The 8th arrondissement of Paris (VIIIe arrondissement) is one of the 20 arrondissements of the capital city of France. In spoken French, this arrondissement is colloquially referred to as huitième (eighth/the eighth).
The arrondissement, called Élysée, is situated on the right bank of the River Seine and centred on the Champs-Élysées. The 8th is, together with the 1st, 9th, 16th, and 17th arrondissements, one of Paris's main business districts. According to the 1999 census, it was the place of employment of more people than any other single arrondissement of the capital. It is also the location of many places of interest, among them the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe (partial), and the Place de la Concorde, as well as the Élysée Palace, the official residence of the President of France. Most French fashion luxury brands have their main store in 8th arrondissement, Avenue Montaigne or Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, both in the Champs-Elysees Avenue shopping district.

A Walk Down The Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Paris
The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is an avenue in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, 1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) long and 70 metres (230 ft) wide, running between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is located. It is known for its theatres, cafés, and luxury shops, for the annual Bastille Day military parade, and as the finish of the Tour de France cycle race. The name is French for the Elysian Fields, the paradise for dead heroes in Greek mythology.
It is one of the most famous streets in the world.
The avenue runs for 1.91 km (1.18 mi) through the 8th arrondissement in northwestern Paris, from the Place de la Concorde in the east, with the Obelisk of Luxor, to the Place Charles de Gaulle (formerly the Place de l'Étoile) in the west, location of the Arc de Triomphe. The Champs-Élysées forms part of the Axe historique.
The lower part of the Champs-Élysées, from the Place de la Concorde to the Rond-Point, runs through the Jardin des Champs-Élysées, a park which contains the Grand Palais, the Petit Palais, the Théâtre Marigny, and several restaurants, gardens and monuments. The Élysée Palace, the official residence of the Presidents of France, borders the park, but is not on the Avenue itself. The Champs-Élysées ends at the Arc de Triomphe, built to honour the victories of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Paris, Champs-Elysees and Arc de Triomphe - ???????? France - 4K Virtual Tour
Wandering on the Champs Elysees sightseeing shops, restaurants and authentic architecture ending at the Arc de Triomphe. Click here ▶ to see highlights and guide.
(From Wiki): The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is an avenue in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France, 1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) long and 70 metres (230 ft) wide, running between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is located. It is known for its theatres, cafés, and luxury shops, for the annual Bastille Day military parade, and as the finish of the Tour de France cycle race.
The Arc de Triomphe (meaning arch of victory), at the centre of the place de l'Étoile and the western end of the Champs-Elysées, is a very famous monument in Paris. Emperor Napoléon Bonaparte commissioned it in 1806 after victory in the Battle of Austerlitz. It is a large arch, but it is not possible to drive underneath it. Jean-François Chalgrin designed it, and it has roughly 300 steps that lead to the top. It has four main sculptures and six reliefs. Just beneath the vault of the arch, there is the tomb of the unknown soldier. The names of French generals and battles are engraved on the walls.

???????? Place de la Concorde | Jardin des Tuileries | Musée du LOUVRE | PARIS | 4K
The Place de la Concorde is one of the major public squares in Paris, France. Measuring 8.64 hectares in area. It is located in the 8th arrondissement.
To the north, the Madeleine church.
To the south, the palais Bourbon (French national assembly)
In the west The Champs-Elysées
To the east is the Tuileries Garden.
In the center of the square, the 3,300-year-old Egyptian Obelisk of Luxor was donated by Egypt for the role of Frenchman Champollion, who was the first to translate hieroglyphs.
At the top of the obelisk the pyramidion was added in 1998.
The Tuileries Garden takes its name from the tile factories that stood in the place in 1564, now extinct. André Le Nôtre, gives him from 1664 its current aspect of French garden.
The garden, which separates the Louvre museum from the Place de la Concorde, is a place of walk and culture for Parisians and tourists where the statues of Maillol alongside those of Rodin or Giacometti.
The Louvre Palace is an old royal palace located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. It is now the most visited museum in the world. It is the most visited cultural site in France in front of the Eiffel Tower. 13.6 million estimated visitors.
I propose an outside visit, mainly with views of the glass pyramid (end of construction in 1988) which is today the main entrance of the museum.

La place de la Concorde, est la plus grande place de Paris (8,64 hectares) Elle est située sur la rive droite dans le 8eme arrondissement.
Au nord l’eglise de la madeleine.
Au sud le palais bourbon.
A l’ouest Les champs-Elysées
