Date Night in Tulsa Oklahoma
Waters Edge Winery
If you’re of the over-40 set, it’s a good bet you’ve probably already exhausted your backlog of date night ideas In the Tulsa Area. You needn’t get discouraged. Remember: Going on dates should be fresh and exciting, not cookie-cutter and trite. (Yeah, that means dinner-and-a-movie is on the outs.)
So, to help you break the mold, we’ve come up with 40 unique date night ideas that are sure to blow (both) your socks off. Whether you’re venturing out on a first date, or want to treat your long-time partner to an absolutely unforgettable night out, you’re sure to find an activity that will ignite an irrepressible spark in your relationship.
1Learn how to cook.
couple at a cooking class date night ideas
If you’re looking for a way to bond, sign up for cooking lessons, and learn how to make your favorite dishes for each other for future date nights. “I usually suggest a cooking class because it’s hands on,” says Sunny Rogers, a clinical sexologist and certified sex coach. “It’s a safe place and offers a shared experience that allows for lots of topics to discuss. It’s also usually a short time period, so the dater can decide if they wish to extend the date or make plans for a second date. With something like a pasta making class, you could suggest a second date at an Italian restaurant known for their fresh pasta.”
2See a movie at the drive-in.
drive in movie theater
Okay, so it’s technically still a movie, but don’t pass up on the idea so quickly. Going to a drive-in is a lot more exciting than returning to the same old movie theater you and your partner frequent (not to mention the fact that drive-ins give you far more privacy than your standard AMC). You can cozy up with blankets, and get comfortable in your own car.
3Go bowling.
If you think bowling in Tulsa is only for youngsters, think again. Getting competitive can be fun and offer up an opportunity for some flirtatious smack talk. And ordering a few pitchers of beer—or even inviting another couple along for the game—might make the night even more fun.
4Sip and paint.

Wine-and-paint spots are popping up all over the country, so take advantage of a location near you. Bring your favorite bottle of vino, and see how well you can paint a predetermined piece. Make it a competition with your date to see which one of you is a better artist. “This activity can spark your creativity and will also allow for conversation and connection,” notes Susan Ruth Freedman, a couples therapist and certified clinical sexologist.
5Make it a group date.
double date
If you have a first date coming up and you tend to fair on the shyer side, make it a group date. Grabbing drinks or dinner with another couple will take some of the pressure off. According to Stef Safran, a dating and matchmaking expert, “While being one-on-one can make some people nervous, going with a small group can make things easier.” And if you two hit it off, you can always split from the group at the end of the evening.
6Go to a game.
fan celebrating a baseball game
Knock date night out of the park by surprising your main squeeze with tickets to a game. Whether it’s baseball, basketball, football, or hockey, going to a sporting event is always a great date night idea, and cheering on your favorite team will be fun for both of you. “Both people can get to know each other and how they react at events like this,” explains Susan Golicic, PhD. and certified relationship coach. “It also has lots of things going on in case some awkward silences pop up at the beginning.”
7Laugh the night away.
couple at a comedy show
Dating after 40 can lack the liveliness that filled your younger years, but not if you go to a stand-up comedy show. Women love men with a sense of humor, and what better way to prove to her that you have one? “A great way to ditch the tired dinner and drinks combo is to grab a cocktail and go to a comedy show,” says Laura Bilotta, a dating coach and matchmaker. “Having a drink first will help you get comfortable and acquainted. Hopefully the show you see is funny, but even if it isn’t, you’ll have lots to talk about afterwards.”
8Escape to a winter wonderland.
couple ice skating date night ideas
Lace up your skates and hit the rink. An ice skating date will allow you to show off your skills, unless you aren’t so blessed in the skating department, in which case you and your date can laugh about how bad you both are and hold hands to keep each other from falling. “Ice skating or roller skating was a dating staple back in high school for many,” notes Safran.
9Embrace the age of disco.

And if ice skating isn’t in season, throw it back to the disco-age and find a roller skating rink. Relive your younger years because this date will also offer up plenty of flirting and hand-holding opportunities.

1950s STORY OF THE U.S. MAIL USPS PROMOTIONAL FILM LETTER SORTING & DELIVERY 64334
This 1950s color film is an educational public service announcement by the U.S. Postal Service. The film was produced by Lewis & Martin Films Inc. The focus of this film is to educate viewers on postal automation technology. The film begins with a vintage post office seal, followed by Arthur Summerfield, the Postmaster General from 1953-1961 under President Eisenhower, who speaks briefly about the mail service (0:42-1:30). Mail is dropped in and picked up from different mailboxes, including in a dual Local and Out of Town mailbox (1:31-1:58). Workers sort mail and boxes (1:59-2:17). New home construction is briefly showcased, including model homes (2:18-2:38). An aerial view shows a large factory and work trucks (2:39-2:54). Vintage illustrations show the U.S. map, as well as an overstuffed post office bursting at the seams and sending mail flying (2:55-3:30). A woman walks into a vintage “Victorian elegant” post office lobby (4:02-4:17). Men push carts and toss packages in a postal processing facility, letters are sorted into city boxes by hand, and packages from a mountain of boxes are tossed into hampers (4:18-5:00). The Transorma Letter Sorting Machine, the first implementation of a semiautomatic mail sorter, is operated by five clerks. Mail is shown being sorted by hand for contrast (5:01-5:43). An automated conveyor belt system is demonstrated, moving mail to different area (5:45-6:38). Boxes are moved down a conveyor belt where a keyboard operator punches in the address area for automatic sorting (6:39-7:14). A postman walks his route and delivers mail. 1950s post office trucks drop off packages (7:15-8:13). A carrier uses an experimental, three-wheeled post office truck (8:14-8:30). A postman pushes a postal cart down the sidewalk, delivering mail (8:31-8:40). The first version of a modern post office layout is shown, including the 24x7 lobby (8:41-9:13). Innovations such as early automated stamp machine, the post office lockbox, and the presence of ballpoint pens are briefly showcased (9:14-9:35). A woman prepares business mail and bundles mail with pressure-sensitive tape, dropping them into a triple-section mailbox (9:36-10:54). An experimental automatic culling machine, an automatic canceling machine, an electronic scanner that reads typed and printed addresses, and a code control machine are demonstrated. Researchers experiment with different mail automation ideas (10:55-13:10). Postmaster General Arthur Summerfield speaks to the camera to conclude the film (13:11-14:33).

Rocky Woods ~ The Trustees of Reservation
Yesterday we went to The Trustees of Reservation Rocky Woods in Medfield Massachusetts. I have not been here in years. It was such a beautiful day. We were there for 3 hours. I loved the walk up on Tower Path. There was such a magnificent view. You could see Gillette Stadium from up top,, which is where the New England Patriots play. We plan on coming back this Fall when the leaves start to change color.
