Ubud Traditional Art Market | Ubud Palace | Bali Indonesia
Ubud Traditional Art Market | Ubud Palace | Bali Indonesia
Day 1 of our trip to Bali, Indonesia. Ubud Palace & Market.
The palace is the official residence of the royal family of Ubud. It was on his travels that he received a divine revelation that in Bali he was to bury five precious metals on a mountain slope where the mother temple of Besakih now stands today. Along with a group of followers, Rsi Markaneya was magnetically attracted to a destination located in the central foothills of the island that radiated light and energy. This place was Campuhan in Ubud at a junction in the Wos River and it was here that he felt compelled to build a temple by the name of Pura Gunung Lebah.
The Ubud Art Market, locally referred to as 'Pasar Seni Ubud' is located opposite the the Puri Saren Royal Ubud Palace and is open daily. Here you can find beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, handmade woven bags, baskets or hats; statues, kites and many other hand-crafted goods.
Most of the goods found at the Ubud Market are made in the neighbouring villages of Pengosekan, Tegallalang, Payangan and Peliatan. The location of the Ubud Art Market which is centred among the art producing villages, and being just opposite the royal palace which is a centre point to Ubud itself, make it a strategic shopping place for Balinese handicrafts and souvenirs.
The Ubud market also serves as a setting for the Hollywood movie Eat Pray Love, which shows a scene where actress Julia Roberts opposite a male character strolling through the stalls which are frequently visited by foreign and domestic visitors in real life. Naturally, bargaining is essential.
Thanks for watching.

DAYCARE STRUGGLE IN BALI INDONESIA + A DAY AT TITI BATU
In search of a solution to our No Daycare issue with spending our final month in Bali in Ubud, I have come to the conclusion that I can just make it work for one month if I juggle a lot fo things.
The daycare she is at is only a 30minute scooter ride from the pool/gym/co-work space we are looking to join.
Today, I am testing out just how far it is and if I'll be able to take her to her amazing daycare twice a week.

UBUD ART MARKET - PASAR SENI UBUD,BALI
Ubud Traditional Art Market – Location, Things To Buy & Shopping Tips.
Even though you can find many shopping malls in Bali especially in the southern part of Bali island, the traditional market remains available in Bali. The existence of traditional market stays in touch in Bali. Due to most local area prefer to buy their daily need to a traditional market. Bali traditional art market has its unique value. Also, you can visit it as one of the exciting places to visit while on holiday in Bali. There is two traditional art market that so famous among tourists in Bali and their area: Ubud Traditional Art Market & Sukawati art market.
The uniqueness of the traditional art market in Bali is different from other countries and other regions in Indonesia. These create many foreign tourists and domestic tourists interested in visiting the traditional art market while on holiday in Bali.
Almost all the traditional art market in Bali sells merchandise that is no much difference from one another. Merchandise available in the traditional art market such as T-shirts with Balinese barong, Balinese silver rings and silver necklaces, beach clothes, Balinese snacks, paintings and sculptures with Balinese carvings. Therefore, if you are looking for cheap clothes shopping in Ubud, the best place to buy is at Ubud central market.
One of the famous attractions in Bali which has a traditional art market in Ubud. The traditional art market in Ubud known as Pasar Seni Tradisional Ubud, the English language means Traditional Art Market Ubud. Due to the uniqueness of the traditional art market in Ubud, one of the Hollywood movies, called Eat Pray Love starring Julia Roberts, takes the shooting set in the Ubud traditional art market.
Ubud Traditional Art Market Location
To find Ubud art market location is effortless because the position is in the center of Ubud. The address of Ubud art market located at Jalan Raya Ubud No.35 – Ubud, Bali. The location of the traditional art market in Ubud Ubud is very strategic. Located in front of the Ubud Royal Palace (Puri Saren Ubud). Also, Ubud’s traditional art market is also adjacent to Ubud’s famous tourist attractions such as:
Monkey Forest Ubud.
Saraswati Temple.
Goa Gajah Temple.
Tegalalang Rice Terrace Ubud.
If you depart from Kuta Bali heading to Ubud art market, then you will require travel time approximately 1 hour 30 minutes with a distance of 32 kilometers.
The Best Way To Visit Ubud Art Market
Due to the limitation of the parking lot in the Ubud art market especially during the day. Therefore, if you stay in one of the hotels in the Ubud area, you should use a taxi meter when visiting the traditional art market. If you do not stay at in Ubud area, driving your car without taking a private driver, will make you have to find a parking lot located far away with the Ubud traditional art market location. Therefore, we suggest you get a car rental service with driver in Bali.
By using the services of a driver, then you can immediately get off the car in front of the art market. Then, your driver will find a car park for you. By the time you have finished shopping at the Ubud art market, you can ask the driver to pick up in front of the art market.
Opening Hours & Attractiveness
Ubud art market opening hours from 04:00 am – 6:00 pm. Also, no entry fee required to enter the art market area. The best time to visit the traditional art market in Ubud is in the morning, because there is a belief of the Balinese, if they succeed in sales in the morning, mean as a sign as a successful sale for the whole day. This Balinese belief is known as “Pegarus Dagangan.”
Therefore, if you want to shop at Ubud traditional art market and want to get the opportunity to bargain for a lower price, then you should visit the market in the morning, around 09:00 am. Also, by coming to the market early in the morning, the Ubud art market is not too crowded, compared when you visit the market in the afternoon.
The goods sold in Ubud traditional art market is in good quality with a relatively economical price. However, to get a reasonable cost, you need to be an expert in bargaining. While I am not good at negotiation, so I tend to get a higher price compare if my wife makes the negotiation with the same item. For your information, most merchants get the merchandise directly from home artisans, which makes the price of becoming cheaper. Of course, you still need to bargain.

Bali Swing at D'Tukad River Club | Ubud, Bali | Indonesia | We.Are.Wanderful
Bali Swing at D'Tukad River Club
Ubud, Bali | Indonesia
DECEMBER 29, 2018—We're on our first day in Bali and we are basically visiting places in and around Ubud, Bali's center for crafts and tradition. Earlier we visited the Monkey Forest and a Hindu Temple. We are now on our way to our first Bali Lunch near a waterfall called Blangsinga. Even before flying to Bali we already made reservations at a place called D'Tukad River Club which is nestled right beside the waterfall.
There is a specific reason why we booked our first Bali Lunch at D'Tukad. Our main objective is not really lunch (also that is also a must) but the Instagram-famous Bali Swing.
(Note: Take note that there is a place called Bali Swing which is not where we are going to. Whenever I refer to Bali Swing anywhere in the video I am referring to the ACTIVITY and not the PLACE).
Dong the now famous Bali Swing is one of the highlights of our Bali Trip. Marielle lobbied her mom to make sure we do it, and she even dressed specially for this activity.
The Bali Swing is offered by several different resorts and tour operators in many different places in Bali (including in Bali Swing). We are doing ours at D'Tukad, precisely because it is overlooking the Blangsinga Falls. How much Instagram-perfect can that get?
This is a short video presentation of our short visit at D'Tukad River Club and, of course, our Bali Swing adventure. Enjoy watching.

BEING BASIC A BASIC TOURIST IN UBUD
We do so many videos where we talk about how to go local, but what about the big attractions? What about the markets and the palace and all that hippy stuff that people travel to Ubud for?
Well we spent a day being basic to see what the hype is about and how to kick it mainstream in Ubud. It's the kind of stuff you need to do at least once to say you did it. If I had to do it over I would do one of these things a day over a few days rather than all in one day with a kid.
What is the trappiest tourist trap you have ever taken on? Tell me in the comments below.

Bali Pulina is one of the most amazing place to visit in Bali. Located approximately 7 km North of Ubud precisely at Pujung Kelod Village, Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency. It is very quiet place with the average of temperature is 24 degrees and 700 meters above the sea level. Surrounded by natural view with the green forest and beautiful rice terrace, as far as your eyes can see only the green area.
You will be greeted by a guide who takes you through the plantation to learn and take part of how Luwak Coffee was made traditionally. Luwak Coffee is the most delicious and aromatic coffee that you could ever taste.
This was definitely a very cozy place, you will feel drift when you are stand on the wooden stage and enjoy wonderful sight. Visit the place you will get quintessential Balinese experience! It’s definitely worth it while you in Bali.

Pasar Senggol, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia
The night market in Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia, known as Pasar Senggol is an amazing place to eat a range of different Indonesian Balinese street food!
One evening, we headed over to the market at about 5 pm to start eating, and in this video I’ll show you everything I ate on this Balinese street food tour.
Babi guling - Babi guling, or Balinese style roast pig, is one of the ultimate things you have to eat, especially if you enjoy pork, when you’re in Bali. I started the street food tour off with a plate of babi guling. I was alright, but could have been better had it been hot and fresher.
30,000 IDR ($2.20) per plate
Sweets - Along with full meals, you’ll find an abundance of Indonesian street food snacks and desserts. Klepon was my favorite.
1,000 IDR ($0.7) per box
Nasi ayam campur - This stall served one of the best single plates of food I had in Bali, ayam betutu and some mixed chicken all over a plate of rice with all the toppings and mixes. The food was sensational, packed with flavor.
25,000 IDR ($1.84)
Tipat cantok - Similar to another common Indonesian street food called gado gado, tipat cantok includes rice cakes and bean sprouts in a peanut sauce. It was pretty good, and I enjoyed how you could watch her making it in front of you.
7,000 IDR ($0.51)
Serombotan - Finally, to end this Indonesian street food tour in Bali, I had a serving of something called serombotan, a delicious mixture of vegetables and coconut and shrimp paste. It was surprisingly very good and flavorful.
5,000 IDR ($0.37)
