Anamarvis Nepal- Trekking Annapurna (Poon Hill)
Hey there!
This is a short video with some of the things I have been seeing for the past 5 days.
The route was as follows:
1st day: Nayapul- Ulleri (about 6-7 hours walking). I thought this day I was going to die. I still cannot believe I made it up all those stairs.
At the beginning I was impressed with the views, but as I kept walking they were even better and better.
2nd Day: Ulleri-Ghorepani (around 5 hours) + Poon Hill (another hour).
This day I woke up very very sick. With a very bad cold. I still made it to Ghorepani, even though I had to stop and recover every 5-10 minutes. It was so hard to only be able to breathe from my mouth, but hey! I made it up the hill! I could not see anything on the first day because it was very cloudy, but I was able to see the mountains from my hostel the following morning.
3rd Day: Ghorepani (Poon Hill).
I decided to stay here an extra day to recover from my cold. I had fever and obviously I was not gonna make it if i walked that sick. It went well, I spent the whole day in bed, having hot tea with honey and soups. The lady at the hotel (Kamala Lodge) really looked after me, very nice people.
4th Day: Ghorepani- Ghandruk (another 6 hours walk).
This day was much easier as it was most of the time down-hill. I really loved all the views and all the animals we found on the way.
5th Day: Ghandruk-Nayapul (about 4 hours walk).
Then took the bus back to Pokhara!
Some people suggested that I should have got a guide for this, as it could be dangerous, but I have felt completely comfortable doing the whole thing on my own.
Unfortunately, my contact lenses broke 2 days before the trekking so from now on I have to wear my glasses (exciting). I also got a cold and fever, but I made it!!! At some point this week I thought God was testing my limits, but at the same time He gave me so many beautiful views, amazing people, knowledge and insight, so I am grateful anyways!
Even though this was not in my plans I have enjoyed it a lot, it has proven that I am (and anyone is) capable of doing much more than we can think of. That there are no limitations and that people are good and kind.
I am a bit upset cause I should have been teaching for the past week, but I tried to embrace change as much as I can. Unfortunately, the school is closed for holidays and they will be back next week, so hopefully I will get to teach and learn from them then.
As for the following days, I will be in Pokhara! Might do a Reiki healing treatment, massages, yoga and meditation and might go to see the temple in Pokhara, then Ill head to my destination: Shishagat Village!
Stay blessed. Be kind. Be humble and smile!!
Love you.
