The History of American Veterans
Veterans’ part in American history has been more important than you would typically think, and I’m not talking about their time during war. That’s military history. It’s when they return, what veterans have done to shape this country. In so many ways, our issues have driven substantial change. It is a crazy complex story, and I can only briefly cover it here in two parts.

Wiki:
A veteran is one who has served in the armed forces, especially one who has served in combat. The National Guard and Reserve is included. It is especially applied to those who served for an entire career, usually of 20 years or more, but may be applied for someone who has only served one tour of duty. A common misconception is that only those who have served in combat or those who have retired from active duty can be called military veterans.
President Abraham Lincoln, in his second inaugural address in 1865 towards the end of the American Civil War, famously called for good treatment of veterans: [T]o care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan. The American Civil War produced veterans' organizations, such as the Grand Army of the Republic and United Confederate Veterans. The treatment of veterans changed after the First World War. In the years following, discontented veterans became a source of instability. They could quickly organize, had links to the army and often had arms themselves. The Bonus Army of unemployed veterans was one of the most important protest movements of the Great Depression, marching on Washington, D.C. to get a claimed bonus now that Congress had promised them decades in the future.

For Liberty Re-cut
Full movie available on iTunes
In late 2009 we released a feature-length grassroots documentary entitled, For Liberty: How the Ron Paul R3volution Watered the Withered Tree of Liberty. Since then, we've been inundated with positive feedback from people all over the world who have viewed the film, and were inspired by Ron Paul's message of Freedom and Liberty. As independent filmmakers, we've been humbled by the response.
Soon after Ron Paul announced his new 2012 Presidential campaign on May 13th, 2011, we decided if we could shorten our original 120 minute film to just under 60 minutes, that it would make an excellent handout DVD to educate people about Ron Paul during his 2012 campaign.
We produced a 55 minute re-cut and posted it to RonPaulForums to be viewed, vetted and critiqued. Not long after, we debuted an updated version, which included a brand new 5 minute Addendum edit at the end featuring new exclusive commentary by Jack Hunter. The Addendum carries the viewer past the end of the 2008 campaign and through some of the successes Ron Paul & the Liberty Movement have had throughout 2008-2011.
With an updated subtitle, we completely re-designed the DVD's packaging and artwork into an informative literature piece in itself, and feel we've crafted the perfect Ron Paul 2012 presidential campaign handout piece. The best part is people can get them at a discounted price and in bulk quantities right here on this site.
The For Liberty 2012 Re-cut is packaged in a beautiful full-color 4 panel Wallet Sleeve, with each piece individually shrink-wrapped making for the perfect handout for rallies, fairs, when going door to door with literature about Ron Paul, and more.
Anyone who views the film will definitely take a 2nd look at Ron Paul in the upcoming straw polls, caucuses, and primaries
TVC News: 2016 Cannabis Health Summit & 420 Games

Watch the entire event FOR FREE from the comfort of your home. If you have a following and would like to help us spread the word, please contact: partners@greenflowermedia.com. Register for the Cannabis Health Summit free: Published on Jun 16, 2015 The 420 Games, established by Jim McAlpine, founder of the ski/snowboard lifestyle brand SnowBomb.com, is a series of events aiming to destigmatize responsible cannabis use. Elite Daily recently attended one of these events in San Jose, California, meeting with McAlpine and other activists to discuss the movement. In McApline's words: We're coming off decades of negative propaganda stigmatizing cannabis use. We've all been lied to. It's a bad rap and we need to change the dialogue. There are millions of people who use marijuana in effective, healthy and productive ways We plan to show this to the world via athletic achievement. The 420 events include everything from organized runs (often 4.20 miles) to mountain bike races and golf tournaments. Participants are responsible pot users who aim to prove they still live healthy and active lifestyles. All of this coincides with the movement for marijuana legalization, which is rapidly gaining momentum across the United States. At this point, four states and Washington DC have legalized recreational marijuana, and 23 states and DC have medicinal marijuana programs. According to polling from Pew Research Center, a majority of Americans, particularly Millennials, are now ready for pot to be legal across the country. But even as the US becomes more accepting of marijuana use, certain myths about the drug persist. In particular, it's evident many still stereotype pot users as lazy stoners or burnouts. In truth, almost anyone you see walking down the street could be a frequent or casual pot user; they don't all resemble Cheech & Chong. From long-haired hippies donning Bob Marley t-shirts to suburban parents and former UFC fighters, those who partake in the use of cannabis come in all shapes and sizes. Pot hasn't ruined their lives, and they don't spend the entire day eating Doritos on their couches. There are a number of responsible, mature and productive marijuana smokers across this country -- and the world, for that matter. Not to mention, many use it for legitimate medicinal purposes. As the US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy recently stated: For certain medical conditions and symptoms... marijuana can be helpful. Other prominent individuals in the medical community strongly concur, such as Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who recently wrote (on 4/20 of all days): We should legalize medical marijuana. We should do it nationally. And, we should do it now. With that said, as with any substance, excessive use of pot can have negative consequences, and moderation should be the golden rule. The 420 Games promotes and educates people on this mentality, while also working to deter minors from using cannabis. Nationwide marijuana legalization would not transform America into a country of apathetic burnouts, and the 420 Games, among other movements, helps prove that. (3BL Media) Madison, NJ - May 17, 2012 - This week, National Women's Health Week, Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), the world's leading provider of diagnostic testing, information and services, joins the American Cancer Society Choose You® movement and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Office on Women's Health (OWH) in reminding women to make their health a priority. National Women's Health Week is a weeklong health observance coordinated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office on Women's Health. It brings together communities, businesses, government, health organizations, and other groups in an effort to promote women's health.
View a public service video in support of National Women's Health Week and the American Cancer Society Choose You women's health movement.
In recognition of National Women's Health Week, and as part of the company's national presenting sponsorship of Choose You, Quest Diagnostics is offering 10,000 free wellness screening vouchers to women at Choose You community events around the country throughout the month of May, to help women focus on and understand their health risks. In addition, at Quest Diagnostics worksites across the United States, HealthyQuest employee volunteers are leading events to raise awareness among the company's more than 40,000 employees of National Women's Health Week, the Choose You movement, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
This week, we're encouraging women everywhere to schedule their recommended medical appointments and by doing so, to make a commitment to their own health and take care of themselves just as well as they take care of their families, says Kimberly Wright, Director, Mission Solutions and Tools at the American Cancer Society. This is a very important message of the Choose You movement and of our supporters like Quest Diagnostics.
We hope our support of National Women's Health Week will mobilize more women to see their doctors and receive their recommended health screenings, said Quest Diagnostics President and CEO Steve Rusckowski. At Quest Diagnostics, our employees come to work each day with a passion for improving human health, and we're pleased to sponsor the American Cancer Society Choose You women's health movement.
Quest Diagnostics employee volunteers are joining the American Cancer Society in encouraging women to prioritize their health at community events around the country. The Choose You movement has issued a challenge to women: Choose play in May and help the Society inspire 100,000 acts of physical activity. To get the challenge started, a series of Choose You pop-up play teams have been hitting the streets of New York (May 1), Santa Monica (May 11) and Washington, D.C. (May 22), inviting passers-by to get active with nostalgic childhood toys, including the '80s famed Skip It, hula hoops, hoppity-hop balls and double Dutch jump ropes. Last Friday, at Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade, local residents, visitors, media and celebrities, including Dot Marie Jones (Coach Beiste, Fox-TV Glee), Jessica Stroup of 90210 (CW network), Josie Loren (ABC Family Make It or Break It), Genevieve Farrell (Disney's Molly: the American Girl on the Homefront), and Amy Paffrath (Host of MTV'S Jersey Shore: After Hours and Hollywood 411), played with the team and joined the growing public health movement.
Women receiving Quest Diagnostics vouchers at May Choose You events can redeem them online to schedule a free Blueprint for Wellness® screening at a Quest Diagnostics patient service center. Each screening participant will receive a personalized My 5 to Health™ report with biometrics and laboratory test results for diabetes and heart disease risk, a Metabolic Syndrome risk score, and a tear out summary page they can take to their doctor. The Quest Diagnostics Blueprint for Wellness health-risk assessment service is provided to health-conscious companies seeking to implement lab-based employee wellness initiatives to help identify and reduce their workers' greatest health risks. In a recent study published in the peer-reviewed online journal PLoS ONE, Quest Diagnostics found that one in three first-time participants in their employer's lab-based wellness program were unaware they were at high risk for diabetes, heart disease, and/or chronic kidney disease.

Wayne Kramer of MC5 on politics, life, rock-n-roll (Part #1)
MC5 (Motor City 5) was an American rock band from Lincoln Park, Michigan, formed in 1964. The original band lineup consisted of vocalist Rob Tyner, guitarists Wayne Kramer and Fred Sonic Smith, bassist Michael Davis, and drummer Dennis Thompson.
Crystallizing the counterculture movement at its most volatile and threatening, according to AllMusic critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine, the MC5's leftist political ties and anti-establishment lyrics and music positioned them as emerging innovators of the punk movement in the United States. Their loud, energetic style of back-to-basics rock-n-roll included elements of garage rock, hard rock, blues rock, and psychedelic rock.
MC5 had a promising beginning which earned them a January 1969 cover appearance in Rolling Stone and a story written by Eric Ehrmann before their debut album was released. They developed a reputation for energetic and polemical live performances, one of which was recorded as their 1969 debut album Kick Out the Jams. Their initial run was short-lived, though. In 1972, just three years after their debut record, the band came to an end. MC5 was often cited as one of the most important American hard rock groups of their era. Their three albums are regarded by many as classics, and their song Kick Out the Jams is widely covered.
Tyner died of a heart attack in late 1991 at the age of 46. Smith also died of a heart attack, in 1994 at the age of 45. The remaining three members of the band reformed in 2003 with The Dictators' singer Handsome Dick Manitoba as its new vocalist, and this reformed line-up occasionally performed live over the next nine years until Davis died of liver failure in February 2012 at the age of 68.
MC5 have been nominated three times for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: 2002, 2016 and 2017
Wayne Kramer (born April 30, 1948) is an American guitarist, songwriter, producer, and film and television composer.
Kramer came to prominence as a teenager in 1967 as a co-founder of the Detroit rock group MC5. The band broke up amid personality conflicts, drug abuse, and personal problems, which, for Kramer, led to several fallow years, as he battled drug addiction and a three-year stint in prison before returning to an active recording and performing schedule in the 1990s.
Rolling Stone ranked Kramer #92 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of all Time.”
In 2001, Kramer and his wife and manager Margaret Saadi Kramer launched MuscleTone Records, an independent label. MuscleTone and Levi's Clothing partnered to produce a live performance featuring the MC5's surviving members and guests Ian Astbury (The Cult), Dave Vanian (The Damned) and Lemmy (Motorhead), which they filmed at London's 100 Club for Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. The event generated worldwide press coverage and prompted a world tour. The tour spanned several years and included dates in Europe, America, Australia, South America and Japan. They have performed together on and off since then with a variety of guests.
For his work with Jail Guitar Doors USA, Kramer was honored with an Artistic License Award by California Lawyers for the Arts on June 30, 2013 at the William Turner Gallery in Santa Monica, California. Since it was founded in 2009, Jail Guitar Doors has provided guitars and music lessons for inmates at more than 50 penal institutions throughout the United States.

The connection between fitness and happiness at Sydney city
Doctors and scientists say unequivocally that physical activity makes the difference between a long and good life and premature death.
Here is the most up-to-date scientific information on the subject:
Everyone knows that exercise is beneficial to health, but many still do not realize that it is actually a choice between a good life and death. It is no longer just a hot recommendation of a madman to talk or friendly advice in the health section of the newspaper, but an unequivocal order coming from the medical world. Exercise, or stop, just like that, says medical professor Frank Booth of the University of Missouri in Columbia, the United States. This claim is joined by other scientists who warn that people risk their health to the point of risking their lives because of lack of movement.
To illustrate, these phenomena refer to three-quarters of the adult population and a growing number of children in the United States. But alongside the pessimistic predictions about the fate of humanity, which is gradually degenerating physically and brings itself to extinction, it is important to emphasize that this is a reversible situation that man can change at any given moment. The optimistic message from the specialists of the Mayo Clinic Clinic, which investigated the positive effects of physical activity to prevent disease and improve the condition of patients, is that combining a moderate amount of exercise on the diet ensures a significant improvement in overall health and quality of life for everyone regardless of age, gender Or physical fitness. That's it, you decide.
The scientists recommend about 30 minutes of moderate activity most days of the week as a way to reduce the risk of diseases that cause premature death, such as heart attacks, pancreatic cancer, diseases that cause disability, osteoporosis and more.
Research has found that a person's level of activity, measured by his ability to walk on a treadmill, predicts his life expectancy significantly. Professor Jonathan Myers of Stanford University Medical School found that staying fit reduces the risk of premature death by 50 percent. He also declares that there is no need to sweat to add a few years to life. According to him, even 30 minutes of walking a day reduces the risk of disease by 30-50 percent.
For more details -
Suzette Smit, a specialist in preventive medicine and a certified dietitian from Southern California, says many people mistakenly believe that if guided exercise is not possible, it is best to stay in the armchair. In her opinion, there is no need to register for aerobic movement. She recommends simply adding more traffic on a daily basis, such as walking, climbing stairs, and even active games with children. Those who cannot find even 30 minutes in a row to exercise can divide the activity into three series of 10 minutes during the day or 15 minutes twice a day. The beautiful thing about physical activity is the fact that it is beneficial to all body systems. For the heart, blood vessels and respiratory system, the cardiovascular system is responsible for the blood flow in the body.
Every beat of the heart sends blood to the body through the blood vessels. Blood pressure, the force that develops on the walls of blood vessels while the blood flows, helps to smooth blood flow.

So why sports?
some reasons that are burning today are:
. For bones and muscles:
Regular exercise is very important to prevent osteoporosis and osteoporosis. Exercise with weights helps in particular, but body weight itself helps strengthen bones in activities such as walking or running. These exercises not only maintain bone density, but also increase the density. Strengthening muscles and bones improves balance and coordination, reducing the risk of falls. The issue of posture and equilibrium is critical at an advanced age.
To maintain proper weight:
Exercise helps you to get a healthy weight and keep it burning through calories. In physical activity, the body, which works harder, needs more energy (calories). The more intense the activity, the more calories you burn. The encouraging fact is that even after exercise, the body continues to burn calories at a moderate rate for several hours. If you burn more calories than you put into your body, you reduce your fat stores. Beyond the known, maintaining a healthy weight prevents pressure on the bones and joints and therefore reduces the risk of arthritis.

Fox News MUST censored. Corporations are NOT people. National unity is more important than propagating negativity/cynicism/hate without offering solutions. News media MUST move AWAY from hate-filled, corporate-owned television that people can binge watch and TOWARDS constructive, YouTube-based content that viewers decide for themselves to view with every click.
For this soldier, our current media paradigm is turning into a national security risk-- a risk of disintegrating national unity exacerbated by tiny government, giant corporate politic power, and a public that passively consumes information without asking the question: Who benefits from my cynicism of programs meant to help the public?
When the world sees that AMERICANS can be controlled with corporate media, bipartisanship and the demonizing of minorities, immigrants and poor people, the world follows suit. If America cannot escape these forces, no other country will either.
As it relates to the media, our current path is unsustainable. TV news is dying, so Fox News and other mainstream platforms are resorting to more and more divisive and inflammatory programming to maintain their ratings. They are simultaneously trying to cut deals with YouTube & Google to remove, censor & demonetize independent media programs. These programs are typically run by Americans with passionate journalistic spirits, who often toil in anonymity, uncompensated for months and years before hitting a point where they are able to break even.
These huge news and cable conglomerates have a dying audience and exist on television-- a dying medium. But they have the power and money to suppress independent actors who usually have NO RECOURSE. These conglomerates do not love America first. They love profits first. I am a soldier, and I am not naive. My campaign to relocate journalism from passively viewed corporate television to an online media which is financially independent and which viewers must actively seek out is impelled for 3 reasons:
1. The MSM’s reign of power on our attention spans is killing this country. I wish to hasten their end, before they drag this country down with them.
2. People thinking for themselves is more important than corporate profits.
3. America must lead the world. My approach would benefit the world, the species and the planet. If America does not lead, the world suffers.
Until the end of entrenched corporate media arrives, Americans will continue repeating Republican Party talking points and voting against the interest of their children and the human race. The Democratic Party is also partly to blame for the lack of fighting for real people, due to compromising with Mitch McConnell for years and pushing incrementalism for solving every problem.
Fox News and the Republican Party abuse the fact that human minds tend toward negative bias. They do not promote solutions. They make our conservative brothers and sisters ignore anything we say, and they are ruining the unity in this country.
They’ve been the top basic cable channel for almost 20 years. Their average audience member is a 68-year old who does not volunteer, but very politically active. This results in a political system which disproportionately reflect cynicism. The youth will be the ones who live with the consequences. Fox News should be censored. All news should be online, chosen video by video, instead of on television which constantly broadcasts a single-minded agenda.

Today we're talking with the owner of Radiance Wellness Spa, Diana Ralys!
(Les sous-titres de cette vidéo m'a pris au moins 2 heures à faire... si jamais ça vous aide, laissez-moi un commentaire pour que je saches... merci !!!)
Diana and I go way back.
She and I met almost 15 years ago. I was a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed youngin' starting out in Los Angeles, and she had just gotten her esthetician career off and running. It was love at first facial.
I loved how Diana (pronounced Dee-anna) and I could talk about anything, and we were on the same page about all things natural. Several years later, I would have Diana to thank for referring me to The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I studied holistic nutrition just before Veggie Magnifique was born!
See, continued learning is a life value of mine. According to Tony Robbins, growth is one of the core human needs. One thing I've always truly admired about Diana is her commitment to constantly furthering her education. She's always learning and growing, honing her skills and savoir-faire. As a result, she truly is a holistic healer, not just an esthetician. And this is key.
⭐️#RadianceWellnessSpa in Santa Monica, CA
A few years back, Diana, with the help of her daughter Kristina, created Radiance Wellness Spa in breezy and beautiful Santa Monica. This family run spa is truly special – a veritable healing oasis for body, mind, and spirit. They do more than just facials... there's infrared sauna, reiki, acupuncture, LED body therapy, and even vegan eyelash extensions. (Which came in handy for my wedding!)
Plus, many years ago, after not finding the caliber of products that she wanted for her clients' facials, Diana started to create her own concoctions. I remember getting little glass jars of her signature oils, and new mixes. Nowadays, Diana Ralys Skin Health products are highly sought after for those in the know. And they are vegan, organic, and cruelty-free, made in small batches and infused with reiki. (Products after my own heart, I declare!)
As you all know, I love supporting small businesses and lovely people! And plus, basically, I would trust Diana with my life.
⭐️Interview with Diana Ralys – Business Owner + Master Esthetician
Today Diana and I chat all about #naturalskincare – what works, what doesn't, and why many people don't get the results they want. Curious about how to choose truly natural products? Or what an organic, state-of-the-art facial entails? It's all in the video. I hope you enjoy!
For Magnifique friends and fans, Diana has been so kind to offer:

By age 15 he started recording. Sandman Negus was Born january 12, 1986 in Europe Bulgaria. Although Sandman Negus is from Eritrea, the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea forced his family to migrate to different countries in Africa leading to his birth in Bulgaria. Wayne Kramer of MC5 on politics, life, rock-n-roll (Part #3)

Congressman Rohrabacher and Joe Loya
B I O G R A P H Y of Congressman Rohrabacher
Currently serving his ninth term in Congress, Dana Rohrabacher represents California's scenic 46th District. Stretching along the Pacific coastline of Orange County and Los Angeles from Huntington Beach to the Palos Verdes Peninsula, the district includes Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Seal Beach, Santa Catalina Island, Midway City, Sunset Beach, Surfside, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Palos Verdes Estates and Rolling Hills Estates as well as portions of Long Beach, Westminster, Santa Ana and San Pedro, and Newport Beach.
As Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House International Relations Committee, Rohrabacher is a most forceful spokesman for human rights and democracy around the world. As new Chairman, one of his first priorities is an investigation into the U.N. Oil for Food program. In addition to Oil for Food, Chairman Rohrabacher will look into technology transfer issues, visa policies practiced by the State Department, Chinese proliferation of nuclear weapons technology as well as other volatile areas of concern such as the massive cultivation of opium poppies in Afghanistan. As a senior member of the International Relations Committee, Rohrabacher led the effort to deny Most Favored Nation trading status to Communist China, citing the rogue nation's dismal human rights record and opposition to democracy.
Rohrabacher is a strong voice for lower government spending and taxes. His record of fiscal restraint and pro-growth policies has won him acclaim from the National Taxpayers Union, Citizens Against Government Waste, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business.
Past Accomplishments
Rohrabacher served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics from 1997 to January 2005, having been given a two-year waiver to serve beyond the normal six-year term limit. His final achievement as chairman was to secure the enactment of his Commercial Space Launch Amendments Act, signed into law by President Bush on December 23, 2004. The law clears the way for small and middle-sized entrepreneurs to build commercial space passenger vehicles and bolsters private sector participation in space travel.
Rohrabacher led efforts in the 104th and 105th Congresses to restore the intellectual property rights of American inventors legislated away with the implementation of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), authoring the Patent Term Restoration Act.
The 46th congressional district is the birthplace of California's Proposition 187, a reform initiative which removes illegal aliens from the state's welfare and education rolls. Rohrabacher inspired the grassroots movement and, as a principal congressional spokesman for Prop. 187, framed the debate that led to the passage of the popular measure.
Prior to his first election to Congress in 1988, Dana served as Special Assistant to President Reagan. For seven years he was one of the President's senior speechwriters. During his tenure at the White House, Rohrabacher played a pivotal role in the formulation of the Reagan Doctrine and in championing the cause of a strong national defense. He also helped formulate President Reagan's Economic Bill of Rights, a package of economic reforms that the President introduced in a historic speech before the Jefferson Memorial.
Rohrabacher's roots in Orange County run deep. He attended elementary school locally and during his college days, he resided in Sunset Beach. Prior to joining Ronald Reagan's White House staff, he was an editorial writer for the Orange County Register. Rohrabacher was born June 21, 1947, in Coronado, California. He graduated from Palos Verdes High School, attended Harbor Junior College and received his bachelor degree in history from Long Beach State College in 1969. He received his master's degree in American Studies from the University of Southern California. In August 1997 he married an Orange County native (and fellow surfer), Rhonda Carmony and April 27, 2004, they became the proud parents of triplets.

Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

San Francisco Travel - San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California and the 12th most populous city in the United States, with a 2008 estimated population of 808,976 The only consolidated city-county in California, it encompasses a land area of 46.7 square miles (121 km2) on the northern end of the San Francisco Peninsula, making it the second most densely populated city in the United States. San Francisco is also the financial, cultural, and transportation center of the larger San Francisco Bay Area, a region of 7.4 million people.
In 1776, the Spanish established a fort at the Golden Gate and a mission named for Francis of Assisi on the site. The California Gold Rush in 1848 propelled the city into a period of rapid growth, increasing the population in one year from 1,000 to 25,000, and thus transforming it into the largest city on the West Coast at the time. After three-quarters of the city was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake and fire, San Francisco was quickly rebuilt, hosting the Panama-Pacific International Exposition nine years later. During World War II, San Francisco was the port of embarkation for service members shipping out to the Pacific Theater. After the war, the confluence of returning servicemen, massive immigration, liberalizing attitudes, and other factors led to the Summer of Love and the gay rights movement, cementing San Francisco as a center of liberal activism in the United States.
Today, San Francisco is a popular international tourist destination, renowned for its chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture and its famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, the cable cars, and Chinatown. The city is also a principal banking and finance center, and the home of over 30 international financial institutions, helping to make San Francisco fifteenth in the worlds list of cities by GDP and eighth in the United States.
