This chapel is contemporary with the Temple of Kapnikarea in Athens. Smaller in size, but the style of the temples and or age of the reference at 1000 -1100ad. Over the centuries it has undergone many forgeries, alterations and wear. The building stones are limestone and from the neighboring hill t 'Agio- Onoufriou. Among the stones in the South side, stands and a perfectly round stone that was vertebra from an ancient temple column.
Αυτό το εξωκκλήσι είναι σύγχρονο µε τον Ναόν της Καπνικαρέα στην Αθήνα. Μικρότερο σε μέγεθος, αλλά ή τεχνοτροπία της «ναοδοµίας» και ή παλαιότητα του παραπέμπουν στα 1000 -1100µ.Χ . Με το πέρασμα των αιώνων έχει υποστεί πολλές παραποιήσεις , αλλοιώσεις και φθορές. Οι πέτρες του οικοδομήματος είναι πωρόλιθοι και προέρχονται από το γειτονικό Λόφο τ' Άγιο- Ονούφρη. Ανάµεσα στις πέτρες της Νότιας πλευράς διακρίνεται και µία πέτρα ολοστρόγγυλη που ήταν σπόνδυλος από κολώνα αρχαίου ναού .

AGIO IOANNIS COOKING AND WALKING IN CRETE
Greek cooking lesson/walking/adventure day: This day is at 1 location, but you can participate in various activities. You can join the Greek cooking workshop, hiking in the mountains or participate in the adventure outdoor activities. Read below the description of all the activities:
Cooking – walking – adventure day “Agia Ioannis” (starts at 10.30 hours): Cooking at a little church in the mountains with great views. There are plenty of places with shadow. Here you will be cooking Greek food with our cook and learn dishes you can make back home as well. You can taste also local Greek wine. Whoever wants to walk, comes with us to a different spot en returns later at the cooking workshop location. The walk is about 6-8 kilometres. There are also possibilities to extend the walk and continue back on foot to Zorbas Island (with or without GPS).
Griechischer Kochkurs / Wanderung: Wir starten um 10:30 Uhr in die Berge für einen griechischen Kochkurs am Mittag, mit Grill, alkoholfreie Getränke und Wein, auch die Kinder können hier nach Herzenslust kochen. Auch die nicht kochen, können gerne mit. Sie unternehmen eine erfrischende Wanderung durch die Natur und probieren danach die köstlichen Gerichte am Mittag von den Köchen.
Griekse kookles/wandeling/adventure dag: Deze dag is op 1 locatie, maar u kunt deelnemen aan verschillende activiteiten. U kunt meedoen aan de workshop Grieks koken, een wandeling in de bergen maken of meedoen aan de adventure outdoor activiteiten.
