Lil Frenchman Eating Cookies in the American Alps
Bonjour! Ca Va? It's Zachary coming to you from beautiful Diablo Lake Overlook on Highway 20, otherwise known as the North Cascades Highway. Zach is viewing a cool new book by Jack McLeod called The North Cascades Highway A Roadside Guide to America's Alps. With the help of this educational book, Zach is teaching his Mom the names of some of the majestic peaks he sees from the roadside. His mom wonders why Zach is dressed like a lil' Frenchman. As he takes a bite of a homemade chocolate chip cookie, Zach tells his Mom and viewers that he's been nominated by People to People to travel to France, Italy and Greece next summer. After reading People to People's mission statement, he explains that he must raise $8000. To reach this goal, he is raffling Mr. McLeod's book, a pound of Blue Star's Hwy 20 coffee beans and a batch of his Mom's homemade chocolate chip cookies. Raffle tickets are $1 a piece. Those of you that would like to help Zachary accomplish his goal, may send as many dollars as you can to P.O. Box 715 Twisp, WA 98856. Deadline is Thursday, October 31. His will hold his drawing soon thereafter and contact the winner. Be prepared. If he does not earn $8000, there may be more raffles to come. Zach and his Mom truly appreciate your support. If you wish to not be included in future emails, please let us know. Thank you and Ciao!

Inside the Krusty Krab restaurant now open for business in Palestine
Salta Burger is the world's first restaurant inspired by Krusty Krab, a burger joint featured in Nickelodeon's cartoon show Spongebob Squarepants. It opened its doors on July 24 in an unlikely place - the Palestinian city of Ramallah, in the West Bank.
It's beautiful, it's the first time there is something like this for Palestine, said Raghad Awad, 11.
Before it even saw its first patron, the restaurant was a hit on social media and garnered international attention - including a post from Fusion last month.
For Ramallah resident Nejmah Awad, 23, the burger joint is a source of local pride.
I was just scrolling through Facebook this morning and and I see all these people from the United States - they are not Arabic, they are not Palestinian, and they are all envying Palestine because we have [Krusty Krab] now.
If the concept proves successful, the owners hope to expand.
We hope that, next year, the first branch will be in Gaza, because the children of Gaza need this, said co-owner Nidaa Fsaisi-Soboh.

Hello friends, welcome to a new Happy Learning video ... today we are going to learn about a period of history very important and very revolutionary, today we are going to learn about the Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution is the stage of history that goes from 1780 to 1850 and began in England. For almost the entire history of mankind, life had been based on agriculture and livestock. At the end of the 18th century, the Englishman James Watt invented, or rather perfected, the steam engine. Until then the artisans had been dedicated to the manufacturing of utensils with their own hands in small workshops, but with the arrival of the steam engine, that changed forever. This machine used the energy of steam to transform it into power and moving other machines. These new machines were applied to the industry and began to do the work that the artisans used to do, so the small artisan workshops were disappearing giving way to the big factories. The steam engine was also used for transport and the first trains and steam boats were manufactured, which facilitated trade and travel between cities and countries. Europe was filled with trains.
During the Industrial Revolution, the rural society dominated by the nobility stopped being as important as it was and the urban society dominated by the bourgeoisie started to appear. The bourgeoisie were normal people who had become powerful and rich thanks to trade. Since they had a lot of money, they started investing in technology and were the first to build factories.
The workers, also called proletarians, were the people who did not have wealth. Not being able to make a living in the countryside or in the villages, they emigrated to the big cities to work in the factories. At first they worked in very bad conditions and for very little money meaning that many children had to work on very hard and dangerous tasks so that their families could feed themselves. The workers asked for rights to work in a dignified and safe way, and the owners, the bourgeoisie, did not want to give it to them. After many conflicts, strikes and fights, the workers managed to make the work days last eight hours, and allowed them to rest on Sundays or take vacation days ... and also children were protected so that they did not have to work anymore. Today we continue to use many of these rights and also many of the machines we use are developments of those first steam engines. You already know that knowing the past allows us to understand the present and improve the future.

SUMMARY
=======
The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Europe and the US, in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840. This transition included going from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, the increasing use of steam power, the development of machine tools and the rise of the factory system. The Industrial Revolution also led to an unprecedented rise in the rate of population growth.
Textiles were the dominant industry of the Industrial Revolution in terms of employment, value of output and capital invested. The textile industry was also the first to use modern production methods.The Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain, and many of the technological innovations were of British origin. By the mid-18th century Britain was the world's leading commercial nation, controlling a global trading empire with colonies in North America and the Caribbean, and with some political influence on the Indian subcontinent, through the activities of the East India Company. The development of trade and the rise of business were major causes of the Industrial Revolution.The Industrial Revolution marks a major turning point in history; almost every aspect of daily life was influenced in some way. In particular, average income and population began to exhibit unprecedented sustained growth. Some economists say that the major impact of the Industrial Revolution was that the standard of living for the general population began to increase consistently for the first time in history, although others have said that it did not begin to mean ...

SUMMARY
=======
Alabama is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west. Alabama is the 30th largest by area and the 24th-most populous of the U.S. states. With a total of 1,500 miles (2,400 km) of inland waterways, Alabama has among the most of any state.Alabama is nicknamed the Yellowhammer State, after the state bird. Alabama is also known as the Heart of Dixie and the Cotton State. The state tree is the longleaf pine, and the state flower is the camellia. Alabama's capital is Montgomery. The largest city by population is Birmingham, which has long been the most industrialized city; the largest city by land area is Huntsville. The oldest city is Mobile, founded by French colonists in 1702 as the capital of French Louisiana.From the American Civil War until World War II, Alabama, like many states in the southern U.S., suffered economic hardship, in part because of its continued dependence on agriculture. Similar to other former slave states, Alabamian legislators employed Jim Crow laws to disenfranchise and otherwise discriminate against African Americans from the end of the Reconstruction Era up until at least the 1970s. Despite the growth of major industries and urban centers, white rural interests dominated the state legislature from 1901 to the 1960s. During this time, urban interests and African Americans were markedly under-represented. Following World War II, Alabama grew as the state's economy changed from one primarily based on agriculture to one with diversified interests. The state's economy in the 21st century is based on management, automotive, finance, manufacturing, aerospace, mineral extraction, healthcare, education, retail, and technology.
