Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 1974. The band currently consists of vocalist Robin Zander, guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, and touring drummer Daxx Nielsen. Original drummer Bun E. Carlos stopped touring with the band in 2010 but remains a partner in their business organization.
Cheap Trick released their debut album in 1977 and first found success in Japan with the release of their second album, In Color, later that year. The band would not achieve mainstream popularity in the United States until 1979 with their breakthrough album Cheap Trick at Budokan. Over the course of their career the band has experienced several resurgences of popularity and has toured consistently, playing over 5,000 shows. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
The 40th anniversary tour features a companion album, a new career-spanning compilation titled 40 that features 40 hits from 40 years. RHINO released 40 on May 26th as a double-CD set that includes 40 songs recorded between 1977 and 2017. A double-vinyl version that features 23 songs is also available. 40 brings together the best songs from FOREIGNERs nine studio albums, including all 16 of its Top 30 hits: Feels Like The First Time, Urgent, Waiting For A Girl Like You and more. The collection features Too Late from the group's 2008 retrospective No End In Sight and The Flame Still Burns, the title track from a vinyl EP released just last year, making its debut on CD in this collection. All prior recordings have been remastered and the album features two new tracks recorded especially for this release, Give My Life For Love and a new version of I Dont Want To Live Without You.
Foreigner is an English-American rock band, originally formed in New York City in 1976 by veteran English musician Mick Jones ex-Spooky Tooth and fellow Briton and ex-King Crimson member Ian McDonald along with American vocalist Lou Gramm.
Jones came up with the band's name as he, McDonald and Dennis Elliott were British, while Gramm, Al Greenwood and Ed Gagliardi were American. Their biggest hit single, I Want to Know What Love Is, topped the United Kingdom and United States charts among others. They are one of the world's best-selling bands of all time with worldwide sales of more than 80 million records, including 37.5 million records in the US.
