After work, I go for a run through the Alapocas Run State Park in Wilmington Delaware. The Brandywine river runs through it, and it features some truly remarkable scenery. And it's hilly. Man, is it hilly.
It gets pretty dark through there, which makes me realize that I really need to start packing some reflective gear for my runs. Also, I got lost again.

Delaware Folk Art at Blue Ball Barn - Wilmington, DE
Blue Ball Barn, the only State run folk art museum in the country features paintings, sculptures, quilts, carvings, salvage and outsider art as well as meet the artist gallery talks. Artist Eunice LaFate gave a presentation during my visit. Barn named after Blue Ball Tavern and built in 1914 by Alfred duPont was once part of the Nemours estate. It is an example of preservation and adaptive reuse of a historic structure and the centerpiece of Alapocas Run State Park.

Smith’s Bridge Brandywine
Smith Bridge was built in 1839 as a covered, one-lane wooden span over the Brandywine just south of the Pennsylvania line. It was destroyed in 1961 when it was set on fire the night before Halloween in 1961 and the Delaware Department of Transportation rebuilt the bridge without a cover. Enjoy free parking at First State National Park lot just around the corner with a few nice trails to hike along.

Wilmington, Delaware
Wilmington (Lenape: Paxahakink, Pakehakink) is the largest city in the state of Delaware, United States, and is located at the confluence of the Christina River and Brandywine Creek, near where the Christina flows into the Delaware River. It is the county seat of New Castle County and one of the major cities in the Delaware Valley metropolitan area. Wilmington was named by Proprietor Thomas Penn after his friend Spencer Compton, Earl of Wilmington, who was prime minister in the reign of George II of Great Britain.
According to the 2010 census, the population of the city is 70,851, a decrease of 2.4% from 2000.
