Fairbanks dump shoppers
In Fairbanks, several waste transfer sites are popular places for residents hunt for items to reclaim and recycle. Many people drop off and pick up items under pavilions for reusable goods at five of the Fairbanks North Star Borough's 14 transfer sites. Some people search through the dumpsters as well. In this video, four residents who frequent the dumps talks about what they look for and what they've found.
Alaska Winter Backpacking: Richards Cabin Part 1
HEY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!! Join us on a trip to one of Alaska's coolest Public Use Cabins located in the White Mountains. This is a three part video series to keep the length of the videos down for your enjoyment. We had some really challenging obstacles to include 2 river crossings, 1 ice bridge, and a pretty soggy bog not to mention the trail conditions were ruff with too little snow for snow shoes, skies, or Snow Machines and to much snow to get any kind of decent traction. All I know is, I am really proud of my kids for crushing this 15+mile hike in the middle of winter, in the dark, in a place they had never been to, in Alaska! I hope this video inspires you to get out and explore your local areas and build life long memories with your family or just for yourself. Hope you enjoy this 3 part video series of our adventure.

From Summits to Seas: Biking Alaska
es·ca·pade (ˈeskəˌpād) noun
an act or incident involving excitement, daring, and adventure
From the mountains of the Brooks Range in the north, to the coastal fjords of the Kenai Peninsula, it's been a wild week of riding! My style of riding involves a collage of mountainous trail riding with a mix of trials and touring. This trip took me from Coldfoot, Alaska in the southern Brooks Range, to Seward, Alaska down off the Kenai Peninsula. The bike I ride is Trek's Stache 5, which is a plus-sized-tire mountain bike for increased traction and rolling performance, with a playful geometry frame, that makes riding a blast. Hope you all enjoyed this video, and are inspired to get out there and go on an escapade!

There's nothing like Alaska in the winter. If you've never been, it's a completely different state in than in the summer and not to be missed. Here's a quick look at what you'll see on the slopes of Alyeska with my 7 year old. ;-)
