WHALE WATCHING IN SEWARD ALASKA
Charles suprised us with an overnight stay in Seward, Alaska, to go on a whale watching trip and to visit the Alaska Sea Life Center. Even if we didn't get to do all of those cool things, the drive alone would have made the trip spectacular. I can't believe we live here! Also, river otters make me cry.

ALASKA'S INSIDE PASSAGE (Part 1/6) - WHALE WATCHING in AUKE BAY, JUNEAU
The first port of call on a cruise through Alaska's Inside Passage was the state capital and No. 1 spot for whale watching - Juneau. After a couple of hours in a boat we went for a look at the Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls (28 July 2014)

Juneau, Alaska - Stephens Passage - Whale Watching
Taking a private whale watching excursion leaving Juneau, Alaska. Watched Humpback whales and Orca (killer whales) whales along with otters and bald eagles with a backdrop of stunning, snowy mountains.

Whale Watching near Juneau, Alaska
Our family took a cruise on Celebrity and did whale watching as a shore excursion while in Juneau. All told, we saw at least 12 humpback whales. The whales in the first part of this video are bubble net feeding, a technique that seems to have been created by the whales in the past couple of decades. I missed a breach or two, unfortunutely!
Due to the poor audio throughout most of my filming (wind and such) I've used a couple songs as background music.

Whale Watching in ALASKA
Whale watching in Alaska was awesome! We went on a ship with Major Marine Tours and saw a humpback whale when they said they were most likely all gone this year. Saw some of the amazing Kenai Fjords National Park as well! Boat was a bit bumpy, but worth it.

We docked in Juneau, and travelled to the mendenhall Glacier which was stunning. We then took a small boat with a guide and spent a pleasant time watching the humpback whales in that area. We saw plenty of tail flips and water spouts, too and some harbor seals.
Mendenhall Glacier is a glacier about 12 miles (19 km) long located in Mendenhall Valley, about 12 miles (19 km) from downtown Juneau in the southeast area of the U.S. state of Alaska. The glacier and surrounding landscape is protected as the 5,815-acre Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area, a federally designated unit of the Tongass National Forest.

DOG SLEDDING IN ALASKA!!! Glacier Helicopter Tour in Juneau - CRUISE WEEK Day 2

We made it to Alaska! The Norwegian Bliss traveled through the Alaskan Inside Passage and arrived in the state's capital Juneau, AK. We spent the morning whale watching before heading off the ship to our scheduled excursion. We signed up for the Glacier Helicopter Ride and Dog Sledding Adventure (Coastal Helicopters / Icefield Expeditions). We took a helicopter ride up to the Mendenhall and Herbert Glaciers where the dog camp was based. We got an introduction to dog sledding and met up with our furry team of Alaskan Huskies. Now what it's like to be dog mushers. We had a blast and finished off the excursion hanging out with the puppies before our helicopter flight back to the airport.
We had a nice dinner after returning to the ship and then headed to the Cavern Club where DT gave a karaoke concert.
