Alcanada has a small, romantic beach stretching 200m and about 20m wide. Shade can be sought under the pines that dot the beach, there are no sun beds, no parasols, no bars, just unspoilt coastline and crystal clear waters for those in search of something very peaceful. 150m out to sea is the small isle of Alcanada with lighthouse, easy to swim to or even walk to if you can find the shallow path. The coastline to the left of the isle is also a delight and a wonderful walk with or without your dog, along the way are a number of perfect places to settle and have a swim, or eat your picnic and enjoy the glorious views. Along this well-worn path on one side is the sea and on the other, for some of the way, is the impeccable 18-hole golf course of Alcanada, promising great days of golf, delicious food and magnificent views. A favourite for paddle fans, sailing and fishing, the area is a delight, not well-known, very picturesque, very low key tourism but a well loved weekend / summer venue for the locals.
Towards the village centre there is a very nice, small hotel, bar with waterfront terrace, and a small supermarket, with all main amenities including a fantastic marina just a few minutes drive away in the Port of Alcudia. There are two main residential areas in Alcanada one set on a hillside from which most of the homes have wonderful sea views and the second along the coast towards the Port of Alcudia, properties range from small seafront cottages to larger villas, both modern and traditional, all just a stroll from the waterfront. Alcanada is a very lovely peaceful spot, with delightful views and within an easy drive of the livelier local towns.
Club de Golf Alcanada was opened in 2003, Alcanada golf course is the nearest thing to a links course on the island. When Robert Trent Jones designed this course, his philosophy was easy bogeys and difficult pars and without doubt he succeeded.
Not a course for beginners, but the reasonably confident golfer will appreciate his skill in creating a hard but fair 18 holes.
The only course situated by the sea, Alcanada gives golfers the opportunity to soak up the fantastic views of Alcudia bay while they play a round or two.

Located in the bay of Alcudia, this is the golf course that better summarizes golf in Mallorca. Pine trees, olive trees and fabulous views of the sea. The golf course is optimally managed; its great tees, perfectly trimmed fairways and greens are in excellent condition.
It is a hilly course with wide fairways and a quiet easy rough. It has very few out of bounds and not a single water hazard. In general, it is not difficult to place the first shot in the fairway. The bunkers, on the contrary, have to be handled with care. They are strategically placed on the fairway and it is easy to end up there.
The greens are the strong side of the course: they are large, receptive and true. But they also offer a challenging putt since the greens are fast and can be hard to read.
Alcanada is by many, considered to be one of Spain's best golf courses.

Discover Alcanada Golf Club - Mallorca Spain
Two important preconditions needed to create a first-class golf course: An intact piece of nature in an excellent location and a top golf course architect. The Alcanda Golf Club near Alcudia had both. On the one hand there is the terrain covered with olive pine and oak trees directly bordering the sea; then there is the view over the beautiful island of Alcanda with its lighthouse against the backdrop of the mountains. On the other hand, there are the legendary golf course architects, Robert Trent Jones Senior and Junior, who were appointed to design and create the 18-hole golf course. Father and son have produced a course on which every golfer should have played at least once. Typical characteristics for a Trent-Jones golf course are for example the well placed bunkers - 58 in all - positioned at the greens and fairways. Also the challenging greens with their hidden breaks and difficult but fair tee shots. The 18-hole course was opened in 2003. The players enjoy a view over the Bay of Alcudia from almost every hole; a view is at least as spectacular as the golf course itself. The Club de Golf Alcanada is the only golf course on the island directly borders on the sea. Part of the course's logo as well as its name-giver is the lighthouse situated approximately 150m offshore on the Island Alcanda. Every golfer finds tranquility here. The path leads into a small Seitenta which seems to be completely untouched by human hands. Untamed woods lie directly behind the playing lanes. All it needs is a little patience and you can observe pheasants and many other bird species. Enjoy the seclusion, the gentle wind from the sea and the constantly recurring view over the fascinating bay. Club de Golf de Alcanda is a gem in the northern region of the island. The proximity to the sea, the amazing design as well as the incredible location is a must for every seriously dedicated golfer.

Im März 2019 ging es auf Golfreise auf die Sonneninsel Mallorca. Wir wohnten an der Ostküste Mallorcas im Hipotels Eurotel Punta Rotja direkt am Meer.
Den Auftakt gab das Pula Golf Resort – ein schöner abwechslungsreicher Platz redesignt von José María Olazábal und viele Jahre die Heimat des European Tour Turniers Mallorca Classics. Darauffolgend ging es auf meinen Lieblingsplatz auf der Insel – Alcanada Golf mit traumhaften Blicken auf die Bucht von Alcudia und den Leuchtturm. Die frisch renovierten Grüns spielten sich toll. Mit wunderschönen Aussichten ging es weiter auf die Anlage des Golfclubs Vall D'or Golf bevor es einen golffreien Tag zum Relaxen gab.
Regeneriert ging es weiter im Golf Son Servera, wo uns „The Pine Trap“ erwartet und unzählige Pinien präzise Schläge erforderten. Den Abschluss fanden wir im Capdepera Golf, wo wir nach unserer letzten Golfrunde einen wundebaren Abschluss auf der Terrasse feiern konnten.
