Alcatraz Island National Park, San Francisco, USA - Unravel Travel TV
Alcatraz Island the first lighthouse and US built Fort on the West Coast of America. The island includes the infamous federal penitentiary, long off-limits to the public. The prison was occupied. for 18 month by Indians of All Tribes which saved the tribes. Rich in history, there is also a natural side to the Rock - gardens, tide pools, bird colonies, and bay views.
The only way to get to Alcatraz is by a ferry operated by Alcatraz Cruises, LLC. They are located on The Embarcadero near the intersection of Bay Street - just a bit south east of Fisherman's Wharf.
There is no entrance fee to visit Alcatraz Island. However there is a charge for the ferry service to and from the island which is supplied by a private company under contract with the National Park Service. Alcatraz Island 2-minute HD Tour
Here is a 2-minute high definition tour of Alcatraz Island. Your adventure starts at Pier 33 onboard Alcatraz Cruises. The views of San Francisco, the bay and Golden Gate Bridge from both the boat cruise and the island are inspiring. Definitely one of the best adventure boat trips on the west coast!
The prison tour is fascinating. Once home to some of America's most notorious criminals, the federal penitentiary that operated here from 1934 to 1963 brought a dark mystique to the Rock. The presence of infamous inmates like Al Scarface Capone, and the Birdman Robert Stroud helped to establish the island's notoriety. To this day, Alcatraz is best known as one of the world's legendary prisons.
Alcatraz Island is operated by the National Park Service and is part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area - the biggest urban park in the world.

A flight to Alcatraz Island in 4K
Filmed by photographer Duncan Sinfield, this aerial video takes you above the San Francisco Bay to Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, located 1.5 miles off the San Francisco shore.
Alcatraz Island is a United States National Park. Out of respect for recent provisions made by the FAA, I did not fly over Alcatraz Island, I flew around the Island.
Filmed in 4K using the DJI Inspire 1 with the Zenmuse X3 Stabilized Camera System.

VISITING ALCATRAZ ISLAND WAS A TRIP...
VIDEO #115 // SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA // These tickets to see Alcatraz were reserved about a month in advance for anybody curious. I went with my boss and her daughter who was in town. The boat ride took about 20 minutes to get out to the island and we spent about 2 hours there exploring! There's so many crazy creep stories from that place it's mind blowing! After we got back, we walked around Pier 39 for a little bit (which is SUPER touristy), than went on none other than a San Francisco bus tour! Was a good time!

Visiting Lucasfilm in San Francisco! [Plus the Blue Angels, Lombard St. & Ghirardelli Square]
Visiting Lucasfilm in San Francisco! [Plus the Blue Angels, Lombard St. & Ghirardelli Square] -- I went with Jeremy's family to visit Lucasfilm in San Francisco which was amazing! We spent some time hanging out in the Presidio where Lucasfilm is located and then made our way through the Palace of Fine Arts toward Chrissy Field Beach to watch the Blue Angels for Fleet Week. We finished the day going down Lombard St and getting ice cream at Ghirardelli Square. It was one of the more touristy days I've spent in San Francisco, but it was still a lot of fun!
