Full Review of Riu Guanacaste All-Inclusive Resort (Costa Rica)
I'm sharing my full review of the RIU Guanacaste All-Inclusive Resort where my husband and I stayed when we went to Costa Rica. The RIU Guanacaste has many features that I will review, some free amenities and some that you will need to pay for. I'll review the rooms at the RIU as well as the dining. So many restaurants to visit. We flew into the Liberia Airport and enjoyed many tours. You will see the word hotel, but this is an all-inclusive resort. And we have stayed at two other RIU resorts so we knew what to expect.
Where We Stayed (highly recommend):
Next Door to the RIU (more $$):

2. River Cruise, Coyote Ranch Lunch, Diria Coffee Tour All Day Tour:
3. Zip Line Tour:
4. The Congo Trail Zip Line, but Alex (abov) set it up

Relic and Alex Carbajal, Costa Rican Paso Horse, Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica
December 17, 2012
Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica
We arrived at the El Establo Arenal Restaurant in Nuevo Arenal and had a great lunch.
While there, the Horse Whisperer, Alex Carbajal presented a show with his highly trained Costa Rican Paso.
It was spectacular to see the horse prance and dance.
Nick and Meghan's Honeymoon Part 1; La Fortuna & Jaco
Here is the first leg of our honeymoon adventure in Costa Rica!
Places of Note:
Lava Lounge, La Fortuna -- great laid back hang out, good food, excellent service and delicious Sangria.
My Coffee, La Fortuna -- We went here twice, their Latte's and food were amazing! We also bought a bag of their local coffee to bring along with us for the rest of the trip.
Arenal Hanging Bridges-- Epic views of Arenal Volcano, we saw lots of lizards, insects, birds and of couse plantlife (we were in the jungle afterall). You have a choice of taking a guided tour or self tour, both are reasonably priced. On trip advisor, they noted this spot to be VERY busy but, other than one or two stops (which were great photo ops) we felt almost totally alone. Also, we met friends later on at La Fortuna Brewery who had just got engaged here!
La Fortuna Brewery- We tried a few craft beers while in Costa Rica but this bar had the best. We had one double IPA that was reminisent of a Northeast brew. We came here twice as well, their guac was incredible and our server was the best (he took care of us both times)! They're also one of the only bars in La Fortuna that stays open later than 10pm.
Baldi Hot Springs Resort- It was a rainy day after a late night and this was the perfect place to just relax. We were going to do the free hot springs just down the road but, we decided instead to come here. We did a full day pass which included a buffet dinner. The playoffs were on and there were TVs at all of the swim up bar so, that made Nick happy as well!
Jaco TacoBar -- if you're ever in Jaco, just go there.
Our Jaco AirBnb was personally my favorite stay, it was so chill and the host was so kind. He also had the cutest little puppy named Nina and we woke up to Tucan's calling out in the trees above.
Water Shortages in Guanacaste Costa Rica. Another reason why The Oaks Tamarindo is your best choice.
The Oaks Tamarindo is a totally completed, debt free project and they are possibly the best value condos in Costa Rica for under $200,000
