Not sure if a mermaid would be a good fit for YOUR event or party? Well... here's the thing...
You can have a hotdog festival in the dead of winter and a mermaid would be a perfect fit for an event guest. Why's that? Living as close to Lake Michigan as we do, the water plays a huge part in our Northern Michigan communities. As a mermaid, I represent the water and am a way to incorporate our beautiful lakes into your celebration. Think of me as the Lake's voice. I can sit at one of your sponsor's booths to draw attention to them, or can act as a stand-alone attraction at your event. People of ALL ages LOVE getting their photo taken with a real mermaid and are ALWAYS curious to know about mermaid life.
Still not convinced?
Send me an email about your event and I'm 100% certain we can find a way to work together seamlessly. ????????????
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me and what I do! I look forward to hearing from you!

Video of Platte River State Forest Campground, MI from Brittny B.
Taking a break, video shows beauty of the platte river
-----------------------------------------
Brittny B.'s Review on The Dyrt:
▶︎ Great location to enjoy Platte River and Sleeping Bear Dunes
This is a great rustic state forest campground. It seems to be easier to get a site here when the neighboring sleeping bear dunes campgrounds are full.
It is first come first serve but we went on a beautiful summer weekend and could still get a site. We brought our kayaks and would recommend bringing two vehicles so you can put in higher up the river, if you try to kayak up the river from this campground to float back down you will feel like you are in an infinity pool, the flow is very strong in this part of the platte river.
If you stay it’s worth the drive 30 minutes north to visit Glen Arbor for the day!
pros
less crowded, sites have large spacing inbetween, great platte river viewing, feels like you are deep in the outdoors camping, $15 site fee is a great price, clean water pumps and vault toilets, 30 minutes from sleeping bear dunes and 15 minutes from the shores of Lake Michigan.
considerations
This campground is for tents and small trailers, it’s rustic so no electric hook up, no hand sanitizer in bathrooms,

Hotel Room, St Ignace, Michigan -- Episode 104
Hotels and motels are ubiquitous throughout the world, and they vary widely even within a local area. In the US there are numerous chains of hotels that are located at most every city of any size at all. In this episode we had arrived on location in the evening prior to a shoot date and stayed at one of the local chain hotels. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean and comfortable with a spectacular view of the water!

St Ignace, Michigan - It's always Mack-in-awe
We spent several days in St. Ignace, Michigan on the upper peninsula. This is a great place to get to Mackinac Island or just to start your visit of the upper peninsula.
Also, apparently there are multiple spellings of Mackinaw - and one of them has a C. Pro Tip - It's always pronounced Mackinaw.

Best Beach in the Midwest! - Warren Dunes, Michigan
At this point, it's the dead of winter... Take a look back to the warm summertime sand and sun at Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan. I try to get to this beach on Lake Michigan every year, as it provides much more to do than simply go swimming. Other activities include hiking up the big dune, exploring the clay pits, and camping.

Lake Michigan Covered With A Million Pieces of Gorgeous Ice Shards
The onset of spring has left Lake Michigan covered in gorgeous shards of ice.
Melting water on the lake has frozen in place, looking like a mosaic of blue tiles or preserved waves.
The phenomenon is caused by water that is currently moving underneath the ice as Lake Michigan begins to thaw.
The lake is melting quickly, causing the water to push up sheets of ice to the surface, according to MLive.com.
These ice shards have begun stacking up against each other, creating a gorgeous sight that could be seen from the pier at South Haven, Michigan on Tuesday.
But while the shards make look solid, the US Coast Guard has asked residents to appreciate the view from afar.
'No ice is safe ice especially this time of year,' it told the site. 'The ice is certainly deteriorating and breaking up.'
Fifty-six percent of Lake Michigan was covered by ice at the beginning of the month.
And this wasn't the only incredible sight the lake offered up before winter's end.
Just last week hundreds of people traveled to the small northern Michigan town of Petoskey to catch a glimpse of a submerged life-sized statue of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Severe weather has prevented anyone from seeing the 11ft and 1,850 lb marble statue since 2015, when a record-sized crowd of 2,021 people stood in line for hours in frigid temperatures to get a peek.
There was no guarantee visitors would get to see the cross this year, but this time, their prayers were answered.
Workers had to cut a hole through the ice last Saturday so that an estimated 1,200 sightseers could see the giant Jesus.
The statue, which was made in 1956, has become a shrine to honor those who have died on the water. The first public viewing of the idol took place in 1986.

Shipwreck Off Pyramid Point, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore
One can easily find this slightly off shore in about 10-15 ft of water. If your coming from Pyramid Point, and once you have reached the shoreline from the look out (meaning run down the long, steep dune climb), start walking left and look for the uneven waves crashing on the top of the boiler.
Butterfly Nationals set sail on Glen Lake
The Glen Lake Yacht Club is playing host to the National Butterfly Assocation Open and Junior Nationals this week.
Boaters of all ages are getting out on the water this week. This summer marks the third time Glen Lake has hosted the event but it tends to make northern Michigan the place to be, holding Nationals on Torch Lake and Crystal Lake as well.
Organizers say its great to bring people from across the United States up north to see the beauty we have out on the water.
