The train runs slowly during the Finland and Russian border zone.

The Allegro train
The Allegro is an electric passenger train (one of the Pendolino family manufactured by Alstom) that operates between Helsinki and St.Petersburg. It travels at a speed of up to 220km/hour on AC power supply in Finland and up to 200km/hour on DC power supply in Russia. Its comfortable 1st and 2nd class coaches are perfect both for working and relaxing. Passengers are offered fresh newspapers and magazines in Finnish, Russian and English; there is a separate room for business meetings that can be booked as required. Wi-Fi, a bureau de change (in Finland), TaxFree refunds, air conditioning, fresh drinking water -- Allegro offers all this and much more beside for the passengers' convenience!
