The Allied Museum or Alliierten Museum is free to visit and gives you a lot of insight how it would have been to live in Berlin just after the war as an American, Russian, French or British military person.
Unfortunately I didn't visit the DDR Museum after this, however it was still a good historical trip through Berlin.

Handley Page Hastings T.Mk5 TG 503 Alliierten Museum (Allied Museum) Berlin
The Hastings TG 503 on static display at the Allied Museum in Berlin is one of only four that are left in the world. She is an actual airlift survivor.
Her storied history also includes many more years outside of Europe, including Sudan, until her retirement in 1977. She then served as a Gate Guard at the British Military airbase Gatow. In 1997 the British Government and the Royal Air Force donated the plane to the museum to recall the British contribution to the Berlin Airlift.
(All info taken from the Museums homepage)
You can purchase a ticket for a small fee of 1€ to visit the inside of the airplane.

COLD WAR Museum @ Checkpoint Charlie Berlin Wall 30 YEARS (Budget Travel Germany){Berlin, GERMANY}
Budget Travel Germany #4
A Cold War Museum, appropriately at one of the historical hotspots, is beside Checkpoint Charlie and the remnants of the Berlin Wall, 30 years after its fall.
Both figuratively and literally, Berlin was the dividing point between East and West Germany; Eastern and Western Europe and communism versus democracy. The Berlin Wall compounded the political and physical separation.
At the BlackBox Cold War Exhibition, there is a detailed overview of the Cold War, the 45-year political struggle starting immediately after the Second World War, when Berlin and Germany was split between the victorious Allies, especially the Americans and Soviets. From the time the city was quartered in 1945 until the Wall was broken and the two halves reunited in 1989, visitors learn about the incidents which set the world on edge.
Join Matt for a review about the Berlin Blockade, the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Detente of the 1970s and then the perestroika and glasnost leading to the Wall's collapse. An especially timely visit because of the 30th Anniversary since the Fall of the Berlin Wall.

A visit at the Luftwaffe Museum in Berlin-Gatow
Here's what you can see while visiting one of the most interesting aviation museums in Europe. Luftwaffe Museum has a large number of fighter jets, both Western and Soviet. It's the first time I've tried to film in short scenes and the result might not be the best, but you can see almost all the planes in the display.

Berlin in July 1945 Allied-occupied Deutsches Reich/Weimar Republic ☆ Hitler's escape to Ørland AB
✠ Germany (Weimar Republic) Still Occupied By Allies After 71 Years ☢ Allied-occupied Germany -- Upon the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II (and following Hitler's escape to Ørland AB, near Atlantis in Queen Maud Land), the victorious Allied powers asserted their authority over all territory of the German Reich which lay west of the Oder–Neisse line, having formally abolished the government of Adolf Hitler (see 1945 Berlin Declaration). The four powers divided Germany into four occupation zones for administrative purposes, into what is collectively known now as Allied-occupied Germany (German: Alliierten-besetztes Deutschland). This division was ratified at the Potsdam Conference (17 July to 2 August 1945).[not verified in body] In Autumn 1944 the United States, United Kingdom, and Soviet Union had agreed on the zones by the London Protocol. The powers approved the eventual detachment of much of the German eastern territories, lying east of the Oder-Neisse line, from Germany; the contemplated Final German Peace Treaty would determine the Polish-German and USSR-Polish border lines for the former German territories. The Final German Peace Treaty would result in the shifting westward of Poland's borders back to approximately as they were before 1722. In the closing weeks of fighting in Europe, United States forces had pushed beyond the agreed boundaries for the future zones of occupation, in some places by as much as 320 kilometres (200 mi). The so-called line of contact between Soviet and American forces at the end of hostilities, mostly lying eastward of the July 1945-established inner German border was temporary. After two months in which they had held areas that had been assigned to the Soviet zone, U.S. forces withdrew in the first days of July 1945.[1] Some have concluded that this was a crucial move that persuaded the Soviet Union to allow American, British, and French forces into their designated sectors in Berlin, which occurred at roughly the same time (July 1945), although the need for intelligence gathering (see Operation Paperclip) may also have been a factor.[2]

Germany Still Occupied
By US After 58 Years
By Christopher Bollyn
9-11-4
POTSDAM, Germany - The Allied occupation of Germany began 58 years ago this month and in the eyes of many Germans has not yet ended. Foreign armies are still based on German soil and Europe's largest and most prosperous democracy still lacks a constitution and a peace treaty putting a formal end to the Second World War.
For Germany, World War II, like the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, lacks formal legal closure because a peace treaty has never been signed between the Allies and Germany.
