2018 Honda Amaze | First Drive Review | Autocar India
The second-generation Honda Amaze is here and it's a huge departure from its predecessor that launched back in 2013. It looks more like a conventional sedan now, and of course it's bigger, more spacious and better equipped now. It's also got a new diesel automatic variant that uses a CVT gearbox, unique in this segment. Gavin D'Souza drives it in Bengaluru to find out if it's good enough to rival the Maruti Dzire.

FAQ's:
Q Where are you from?
A I am born in former Yugoslavia. Mom is Serbian, Dad is Bosnian. During the '90's war we came to the Netherlands and I got Dutch nationality. I've lived in Amsterdam for 8 years but lost my heart to India. Since 2018 I'm based in Bangalore. See this video for my refugee story:
Q How can you afford to travel so much?
A I saved for 3 years while working full time and now travel vlogging is my job. I work together with tourism agencies but also do some freelance work on the side. You can watch this video: and this one: to learn more about my story.
Q What camera do you film with and what editing software do you use?
A Canon G7X Mark II and Final Cut Pro X
Q (Why) Are you vegetarian?
A I'm vegetarian but not strict. I don't eat any meat, fish, cooked/boiled or fried eggs. I gradually became a vegetarian over the course of 15 years because I disliked the taste of meat more and more. After doing a yoga teacher training in 2015 I also quit fish and the eggs. No matter my food preferences I have no issues with other people not being vegetarian. I don't judge others and kind of expect the same favor from others concerning my own food preferences. It makes for a more friendly world :-)
Q Why do you usually travel alone?
A Because my friends have jobs with limited holidays, kids and partners. Also I really like exploring on my own.
Q Why do you love India so much?
A Watch this video: and this one:

Mumbai India in 2030 Largest Megacity Project in the World
Mumbai in 2030 Largest Megacity Project in the World . Coastal road project to start by October . Mumbai Ahmedabad bullet train . #NAMO
The work will start with the reclamation of Priyadarshini Park; total cost of project will be close to Rs 15,000 crores. Maharashtra to Centre Need Rs 15000 crore for metro, mono projects in Mumbai
Investment for these projects totals Rs 1.4 lakh crore and the state government wants the central government to share 10-15% of the expenditure burden, which works out to Rs 10,000-Rs 15,000 crore.
AFTER receiving approvals from the ministry of environment and forests last week, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will now be able to utilise the Rs 1,000 crore fund that was allocated for the coastal road project this year.
While contractors for the South part of the project will be finalised by October, work is expected to begin the same month starting with the reclamation of Priyadarshini Park on Napean Sea Road in South Mumbai.
In November last year, the BMC had submitted a revised plan to surmount the long-standing delays in acquiring environmental clearances for the project and proposed that the work be divided into two parts. The south phase of the 29.20 km-long bridge will run from Princess Street flyover till the south end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and the north phase will cover the stretch from the north end of the Bandra Worli Sea Link to Kandivli. The south part will be divided into three sections, which includes a tunnel and two bridges.
The Coastal Road is a proposed alternative to the Western Freeway. In 2011, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan asked the MSRDC to think of building coastal roads instead of capital intensive sea links. He appointed a Joint Technical Committee, comprising experts and officials, in 2012 under the then Municipal commissioner Subodh Kumar to study the plan to build a coastal road. In its report, submitted in January 2012, the committee advised the government to build a 35.6 km coastal freeway from Manora MLA Hostel at Nariman Point to Kandivali to ease traffic congestion. The project was estimated to cost ₹10,000 crore and would have consisted of roads built on reclaimed land as well as stilts, bridges and tunnels. The committee was against building any more sea links and pointed out that the coastal road would help save ₹120 billion of public money.
Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms in India disallow reclamation of land. Construction of the coastal freeway would require a relaxation of the CRZ norms, as certain sections are proposed on reclaimed land. The change in norms can only be done through an amendment to the law by the Central Government. After discussing the project on 10 April 2013, the Maharashtra coastal zone management authority (MCZMA),The MCZMA also argued that the ring road would serve as a protection wall from inland flooding, besides being a vital road link for decongesting traffic. However, despite specific assurance from the minister, the National Coastal Zone Management Authority (NCZMA) decided not to include the coastal road plan in their next meeting's agenda.
During the 2014 assembly elections, the BJP promised to implement the project if elected. On 6 June 2015, the State Government signed an MoU with the Dutch Government for technical co-operation in implementing the project. The Netherlands is known for its environment-friendly reclamation and the use of the sea.
The Coastal Road will be built into two phases. It will have 8 lanes, including 2 lanes dedicated for a bus rapid transit system.
In the first phase of the project, is a 9.98 km section from Princess Street Flyover at Marine Lines to the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL), and is expected be completed by 2019 - a completely ridiculous expectation, of course, considering the pertinent factors involved. A tunnel beginning at Chowpatty will link to Priyadarshini park, after which the coastal road will pass through the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. The phase will include 4 interchanges at Amarsons Garden at Breach Candy, Haji Ali, Worli and Bandra.
Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis made the request to Union minister for urban development Venkaiah Naidu during his visit to the city on Tuesday to review implementation of centrally funded flagship schemes in the state, which also include smart cities, and open defecation free and housing for all programmes. The Centre has allotted Rs 20,000 crore for Pune and Nagpur metro projects and the state government wants a share for Mumbai as well.

Pune Apartment Tour | India Airbnb Apartment Review
Come join us for a Pune Apartment Tour in India as we showcase our airbnb apartment. Pune was the official first destination of my trip to India with David and after driving all night long from Mumbai we finally arrived at roughly 6:30 AM. Instead of going to sleep and/or taking a nap we decided to just fight our fatigue and make a quick apartment review of our place in Pune, India.
AirBnB in Pune:
David's Been Here:
What we loved most about this apartment in Pune was its location and spacious rooms, common areas and balcony. We had a fantastic 6 chair table out in the living room, plenty of couches and a terrace where we could chill and take in either sunrise or sunset with lots of greenery off in the distance. The Pune apartment featured two comfortable bedrooms, separate bathrooms, a kitchen, living room and large terrace. One of the best features was the tasteful artwork and photographs. It felt like a real apartment not something that is just setup for guests. The price was right at $40 USD a night and although we spent most of our time sightseeing in Pune we appreciated coming back to an apartment that was comfortable and safe.

Pune Apartment Tour | India Airbnb Apartment Review Travel Video Transcript:
Welcome to our apartment in Pune, India. We will start off let's go into the bedroom. If you look in here this is the like the ultimate vintage like retro Indian bedroom. Even the colors look vintage.
And then if you come over here to this closet I have no idea what is going on with these curtains. And then over here is a tiny little desk.
Then in here is the bathroom. We've got a small toilet.
Some hand wash, a small little sink. A shower but up top I believe is where we get the hot water from and we have no idea how to work it. And so I think I'm just going to be having a cold shower because it is really hot and humid in Pune.
It is actually fairly spacious for a kitchen. Especially an airbnb kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped. You've got like a grill and a sink over here.
There is some cool pictures decorating the wall. And if you come over here this is one of my favorite parts of the apartment. Nice big living room. And you've got like a 6 chair table which is amazing. We're using it as a work space but it would be great for dining as well.
And then yeah I'll show you this part over here which is kind of cool. There is a couple of couches. If you wanted to entertain in this apartment like you could have a few guests over.
If you go out here this is the balcony. And I love this terrace. Like imagine watching sunrise or sunset from here. You've got the birds chirping. Just chilling out lying down there.
And then as we come over here you get views of some of the other apartments but you also get a lot of views of trees. This is a really green city.
So like the location is just awesome. It is outstanding. And that leaves us with just one more bedroom to check out. We'll go back in here.
Check out that bedroom. And then in here the bedroom. Um again this is basically almost an exact replica of the other room.
Well dude I've got you to thank for getting this place. You picked it out. No problem. You did an awesome job. What are some of the features you like the most?
I mean what I love the most is the terrace. I'd say second is I love this living room. Very spacious, you know super chill. You could come with your family and relax. Like I said before I mean this is like a place to come and stay more than one or two nights.
That is our room tour from Pune, India and we will have more food and travel videos be sure to subscribe to both of our channels. David's Been Here and Samuel and Audrey. We'll see you the next time.
Ciao.

My Aunty's one room Mumbai apartment where she has lived for 55 years in Bombay, Maharashtra, India.
✓ When I was younger and before I had even been to India, my Mother used to tell me that her sister (my Aunty) lived in a one bedroom flat in Bombay. To be honest (and with regret) it did not mean a lot to me then as I had not yet met or seen my Aunty (Masi).
I have set up a fundraiser for my Aunty, here is the link if you feel that you would like to donate any amount that you wish:
I would like to be able to give her the money raised and be able to simply say to her: Please do what you wish with it to make your life a bit easier.
The first time that I met Masi and saw her one room flat was in 1999 and I was invited to stay over. I stayed for 5 nights along with her son and his wife (Bhabhi), it was a very humbling experience and one that I still remember to this day.
Apart from the outside communal toilets, every single aspect of living is done in this one bedroom flat, be it the:
* Morning bathing - with a bucket bath.
* Brushing teeth
* Prayers
* Cooking.
* Eating breakfast, lunch or dinner.
* Washing clothes
* Washing up of cutlery
* Ironing
* Working from home (sewing)
* Watching TV
* Socialising
* Storage of clothes, dry foods, work materials
* Storing of cooking & eating utensils such as pots, pans & plates
* Space for a fridge / freezer
* Space for a sewing machine
* Space for a wardrobe
* Sleeping & all the required bedding.
What makes it even more astonishing is that the actual room is quite tiny in itself. This is tiny house living and a reality for a large proportion of Mumbaiites.
A Big shout out to everyone who reads the description.....you know we love you - you make our description writing efforts worthwhile ;-)
My Aunty has suffered a lot in her life; she lost her husband at an young age and then her son passed away several years ago. (The son was the breadwinner in the family).
My Aunty and her daughter-in-law now carry out some low paid sewing machine work from their flat.
Having visited her again in 2012 & 2017 I was even more humbled when I met my Masi and saw her flat again largely because of my maturity and life experiences here in the U.K.
I humble myself when I think of my Aunty, May God Bless my Masi and her family.
If you enjoyed this video then you may like another video of my Aunty and Bhabhi cooking a curry recipe + cooking a couple of other recipes.
(This video is from our archive and was recorded on Christmas Eve on Sunday 24th December 2017).
The language spoken in this video is Gujarati .
Here's a link to a previous video that I recorded on Thursday 2nd February 2012:
Masi's apartment flat is in the Mazgaon district of Mumbai, (but could just as well be in New York in America where the tiny house movement is really gaining popularity).

Andamane and Mumbai
The Andaman Islands form an archipelago in the Bay of Bengal between India, to the west, and Myanmar, to the north and east. Most are part of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Union Territory of India, while a small number in the north of the archipelago, including the Coco Islands, belong to Myanmar.
Scattered like an unsolved puzzle at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, the popular islands of Andaman are India's archipelago that promises to amaze and captivate at the same time. There are 572 islands, majorly divided into five broad categories - Great Andaman, Little Andaman, Ritchie's Archipelago, East Volcano Islands, and Sentinel Islands. Great Andaman is known for Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and the best islands that have the classiest beaches, simply the ideal holiday destination for indulging in watersports activities.
With breathtakingly beautiful coastline, lush forested interior, fantastic diving possibilities and a far-flung location, the Andaman Islands are a perfect place to ramble around or simply chill out on sun-toasted beaches.
Mumbai (/mʊmˈbaɪ/; also known as Bombay) is the capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Tourism in Mumbai is an industry that attracts almost 6 million tourists per year, making it the 30th-most visited location worldwide. With a metro population of approximately 20 million, Mumbai is the largest city in India and the 10th largest city in the world.
