Travels in Time for Three with the Anchorage Symphony
Chris Brubeck's new work, Travels in Time for Three, will make its Pacific Northwest premiere with the Anchorage Symphony March 26 & 27. Here, Brubeck and the musicians of Time for Three talk about their experience creating this piece, which incorporates many different styles of music with a symphony orchestra.
2017 Anchorage Symphony Opening Night
The season opens with a rollicking potpourri of student drinking songs! Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture was a thank you “note” to the University of Breslau for presenting him with an honorary doctorate. Sean Chen, the charismatic winner of the 2013 American Pianists Awards and Van Cliburn Medalist, performs Beethoven’s bold Piano Concerto No. 5 (“Emperor”). The evening closes with Tchaikovsky’s majestic and rousing Symphony No. 5.
