Andy Williams personally designed and helped to create the Moon River Theatre. He visited Branson and later planned to return to build a $12 million state of the art theatre he eventually named the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre. Moon River opened its doors on May 1, 1992. Andy had become the first non-country performer to open a theatre in Branson. And thanks to his ground breaking decision, other non-country performers and theme shows began to move in to the tiny town that would soon be known as the live music capital of the world.
The Moon River Theatre’s design reflects the beauty and environmental integrity for the surrounding Ozark Mountains. The 48,000 square foot structure is set among 16 acres landscaped with foliage, rock formations, waterfalls and a rippling stream. It won the 1992 Conservation Award for Developed Land Use from the State of Missouri and is the only theatre ever to be featured in Architectural Digest.
For the interior, it was Andy’s idea to create a beautiful auditorium for live performances along with a lobby area that had a museum-like atmosphere so that he could display pieces of art from his personal collection.
At his Moon River Theatre, Andy has shared the stage with various guest stars such as Glen Campbell, Ann-Margret, Petula Clark, and Charo. Andy’s electrifying performances with his guests blend music and comedy into spectacular shows that are one of Branson’s most popular attractions. The 2008-2010 fall presentations of The Andy Williams All-Star Variety Show were very reminiscent of his television show, and he felt these were the best shows he had done since he had been in Branson.
Since his passing, Jimmy Osmond has taken over the theatre as a promise to his friend and mentor to keep the legacy alive. Andy Williams memorabilia is displayed throughout the theatre and a wide variety of entertainers grace the stage throughout the year just as Andy envisioned.

Andy Williams (born December 3, 1927) (age 82)*** Lips of Wine-(1957)
Howard Andrew Andy Williams (born December 3, 1927) is an American pop singer. Andy Williams has recorded 18 Gold and three Platinum certified albums. Ronald Reagan described Andy's voice as a national treasure. He had his own popular TV variety show from 196271. He also owns his own theater, the Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri.
Williams was close friends with Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, campaigning for Kennedy '68 for President. Williams was present at the Ambassador Hotel when RFK was assassinated in June 1968. Williams solemnly sang Battle Hymn of the Republic at RFK's funeral, by request of widow Ethel. By August 1969, over a year after Bobby Kennedy's death, Andy and Claudine named their newborn son 'Bobby' Williams. The Williams's friendship with Ethel Kennedy has endured, with Williams even serving as escort to Ethel, during events in the 1970s.
This led Williams to build his own theater in Branson starting in August 1991, eventually opening on May 1, 1992 as the Moon River Theatre. The name came from a song he made famous from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. It went on to become the first theater ever to be featured in Architectural Digest, and also won the 1992 Conservation Award from the State of Missouri.
The theater was designed to blend into the rough terrain of the Ozark Mountains. Reportedly when Williams was on his way to Big Cedar Lodge one day, he had noticed some rough rock outcroppings and said, What about these? This could be the entrance. He had originally planned a marble style theater reminiscence of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, but soon had a change of mind. The Larson Company of Tucson, Arizona fabricated a section of rock on Missouri's Highway 76 and the theater was soon engulfed with waterfalls, koi filled ponds, ferns and trees native to the Ozarks. The inside of the theater incorporates the outside. Trees and plants are seen throughout the theater's three lobbies. Oak floors are accompanied by African ribbon striped mahogany walls that are filled with pictures of the Andy Williams Television Show. Williams's passion for art can be seen throughout as well. From the start of his career Williams had accumulated several paintings and sculptures and decided to fill his theater with his collection.
Although Williams was a friend of the Kennedy family, he said he is a lifelong Republican who grew up in Iowa singing in church choirs and feels right at home in Branson.[18] On September 29, 2009, Williams was quoted by The Daily Telegraph of accusing President Barack Obama of following Marxist theory and wanting the country to fail.
He gave Rush Limbaugh permission to use his recording of the song Born Free for the theme to the Animal Rights Update on his eponymous radio show (in which a portion of the song is then followed by gunfire), saying Hey, it's fine with me. I love what you're doing with it. The record company later blocked Limbaugh's efforts.

Jimmy Osmond passes away (1963 - 2019) (USA) - BBC News - 9th October 2019
Jimmy Osmond who had suffered a stroke from the Peter Pan play as Captain Hook from the Birmingham Hippodrome has died at the age of 56 in hospital from cardiac arrest. James Arthur Osmond was an American singer, actor, and businessman. He was the youngest member of the sibling musical group the Osmonds. As a solo artist, Osmond has accumulated six gold records, one platinum record, and two gold albums. Osmond was born in Canoga Park, California, the ninth and youngest child of Olive May (née Davis; 1925 – 2004) and George Virl Osmond (1917 – 2007). His siblings are Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Marie Osmond. He is also the only Osmond of the nine not to have been born in the family's hometown of Ogden, Utah. Growing up, Osmond was taught by tutors to accommodate his professional life. He received his first gold record at age five for a song he recorded in Japanese, My Little Darling. He was the first Osmond to achieve this. His recording of Long Haired Lover from Liverpool in 1972 resulted in The Guinness Book of World Records designating him the youngest performer to have a #1 single on the UK Singles Chart. The song was credited to Little Jimmy Osmond. In Japan, he had the moniker Jimmy Boy. In 1978, Osmond starred in the feature film The Great Brain. He starred in other acting roles as well, including two episodes of the TV series Fame. He performed on stage and television often with his older siblings. In 1985, he met Latino impresario Manuel Montoya at A&M Records, and this led to his only Spanish recording, Siempre Tu. He toured Latin US markets, including Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela and Chile. The 2012 Osmonds album I Can't Get There Without You was performed with Jimmy Osmond on lead vocals; it was the first album to feature Jimmy as lead singer, as older brother Merrill Osmond historically held that role in the band. In live performances, Jimmy often serves as a co-lead singer with Merrill, a role previously held by Donny during the band's heyday in the early 1970s. Jimmy Osmond was president of Osmond Entertainment. He has developed and supervised most of the Osmonds' merchandising business, as well as producing hundreds of hours of programming for networks including ABC, PBS, the BBC and the Disney Channel. He has also featured in musical theater. Like his brother Donny many years earlier, he starred in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He also starred in Boogie Nights in 2004 at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool. In 2005, Jimmy Osmond's American Jukebox Show toured the UK in 2005, again to the Grand Theatre in Blackpool. Co-stars of the show included Billy Pearce and Jimmy's brothers Jay and Wayne. From December 11, 2010 to January 2, 2011, he played Buttons in Cinderella at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings, and from December 16, 2011, to January 15, 2012, the role of Wishee Washee in Aladdin at Grand Theatre, Swansea and currently from December 1, 2017, to January 7, 2018 the role of Abanzar in Aladdin at His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen. He has appeared on several UK TV shows, including the reality TV series I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!broadcast by ITV in 2005 (he finished in fourth place), a 2006 appearance on All Star Family Fortunes, a celebrity version of Come Dine with Me, Celebrity Family Fortunes, and Everybody Dance Now. In January 2010, Osmond participated in the British ITV1 celebrity reality television programme Popstar to Operastar. In 2016 Jimmy was a finallist on the UK version of Celebrity Masterchef. In 2014, Osmond authored a semi-autobiographical children's picture book, Awesome Possum Family Band. The same year, he took over the operations of the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri, where he is now responsible for producing and booking shows. In 2015, Osmond was awarded an honorary doctorate of arts and humanities by Iowa Wesleyan University. The first Osmond family member to receive that distinction, he delivered the keynote commencement speech on May 9, 2015. In 2017 he played Abanzar in the pantomime Aladdin, at His Majestic's Theatre Aberdeen. He died in hospital after a cardiac arrest (also known as a cardiovascular procedure). He was surrounded by his family and friends. He was 55 years old.
