FIRST IMPRESSIONS - Ao Nang, Krabi | Beach, Pier, Hotels | Thailand Travel Vlog
Our first travel vlog from Ao Nang, Krabi, and we see what it's like! Share our hotel, check out the beach & pier and...⬇ More Below ✈ Our 220 page guide on how to travel for a living —
In this vlog we explore Ao Nang. Theres not a huge variety or hotels in the area in the middle range, lots of hostels and fancy villas, but we're stoked to have found a good spot (linked below). We also explore the main beach, Noppharat Thara Beach and check out the pier for our visit to Railay.
Ao Nang is a pretty popular spot in Thailand, but we get the feeling it's a bit more of a jump of spot to do more island hoping around Krabi. There's still a decent amount going on, so we decided to get a scooter and explore the area.
The main beach of Ao Nang isn't high on our list of the nicest beaches ever, but the spot right next to it, Noppharat Thara Beach, was awesome. Thats what we look for when we travel, more local, authentic and less developed.
Keen to see the prices and reviews of our hotel? We really liked this place, great accommodation:

More details about our trip:
The day after Christmas, we left for Krabi, Thailand.
We stayed in Ao Nang; our hotel was called Little Home Ao Nang. It was very simple, but cute. I recommend it as a great budget hotel.
At Ao Nang beach, there are plenty of long tail boats to catch a quick ride to one of the other nearby beaches. Our first day we went to Railay beach. Honestly, we were not too impressed, as it was very busy and constantly bustling with boats coming and going.
The next day I booked a Hong Island snorkel/kayak tour through Viator. While it was very beautiful, the tour itself was rushed and I would not recommend it. Instead, just take a boat yourself to Hong Island and you can rend a kayak there and go to the lagoon. (Going with a tour was unnecessary).
Our favorite beach was Phra Nang Cave beach, which is on the other side of Railay beach. It is stunning and peaceful- if you go on the other side of the beach away from the cave and food boats, it is a lot more mellow. We spent two beach days there. It is a beautiful beach, with a lot of monkeys, too!
New Years Eve at Ao Nang is super busy and crowded, but a cool experience. You can buy lanterns everywhere that evening, and people crowd the beaches to light them. I initially was not a fan of doing this, because of ocean pollution, but after watching everyone light theres, Dylan really wanted to try a lantern. The sky did look magical with all the lanterns and fireworks that went off at midnight.
Our last day we went on a sunset snorkel cruise with Krabi Sunset Cruises. That was definitely the highlight of our time at the beach. The boat was awesome and the staff were amazing. We did a jaw-dropping open-water snorkel and I got to paddle-board for the first time. It was an amazing day of water adventure.
At night, we went swimming in the bioluminescent plankton, which unfortunately does not show up on camera.
I highly recommend booking a day with them!

Ao Nang Krabi Thailand - Things to do in Ao Nang
Ao Nang in Thailand is a small resort town on the Andaman coast. From Ao Nang, you can easily visit many of the islands in the Krabi province. Sign up for one of the arranged boat trips or hire a longtail boat for the day to go exploring by yourself. Ao Nang has beautiful beaches and along the beach, you will find restaurants, bars, shops, hotels and bungalows and probably almost everything else that you will need during your holiday.

PHUKET to KRABI(Ao Nang) | Travel Thailand EP 2 : Cute Little Beach Town!
In this episode, I travelled from Phuket town to Krabi (Ao Nang). I made a last minute decision to change course and head to the little costal town instead of staying more inland. And I'm very happy with my choice!
Stay tuned for the end where I meet a lovely fellow traveller Lisa and we (specifically me) had a little bit too much fun(wine)!

Krabi airport and Transfert to Krabi Town Ao Nang Koh Lanta Koh Phi Phi
INEXPENSIVE 4 Island Tour - Ao Nang, Thailand
Today, we see 4 of Ao Nang, Thailand's main tourist islands. We managed to get picked up, boat to 4 separate islands (Phra Nang Beach, Koh Tub, Chicken Island and Koh Poda), have lunch and get dropped off back at our condo for $18!
We had wanted to do another day trip in Ao Nang since there was such good options and the 4 island tour didnt disappoint. Nothing like just waiting for pick up and then being toured around with all transportation arranged and lunch for a change instead of planning everything out ourselves. Plenty of sun to be had and I was quite surprised Chicken Island actually did decently resemble a chicken from the side view of the long tail boat.
Ao Nang (which is near Krabi) was a great little town with some of the friendliest people we had run into. The boardwalk along the ocean front was kept clean and had a good variety of stalls, restaurants, larger franchises for those interested as well as some delicious street foods. After the four island tour we enjoyed our last moments soaking it all in before packing up the bags and getting ready for the next big stop on our Thailand travels, Koh Lanta.
We had a bus scheduled to pick us up at a larger hotel chain down the road for 10:00am so we arrived early at 9:30. At about 10:30 and plenty of worrying about what was happening another couple had showed up to the spot as well. We asked them if they were waiting for pickup as well and they were, but for a 11:00 bus! That gave us a bit of relief at least knowing that someone else should have pick up on the way and then we could sort out where our 10:00 ride was. So we waited it out with them and sure enough, the 11:00 bus arrived. After speaking with the driver it turns out they lumped us on that bus instead without emailing or notifying us! So we we're a little annoyed not getting a heads up that they had changed our pick up time but more relieved that we actually had a ride to get to our hotel in Koh Lanta at least, instead of having to change room plans for the night.
After a little drive we got to a ferry and boarded it with the van to get to the other side. After a brief ferry ride we had arrived on Koh Lanta. We originally thought we would have to boat from Ao Nang to Koh Lanta but after finding the bus option had chosen that one as it worked out much easier for transporting our luggage and having a ride right to our hotel.
Koh Lanta's main area involves a little Saladan Pier area where all the ferries for transportation and excursions come and go, and then a decent quality road that travels across the whole island with little hotels, family restaurants etc down the road getting less common the farther inland you got. We had booked ourselves a little hotel within walking distance of the main Saladan Pier but also far enough away to not be in the hustle and bustle and also able to get to one of the nicer beach accesses. The hotel turned out to not be our favorite in terms of quality, or a big battle I had to get into with 2 wasps chilling in our room upon arrival with a little mud nest in the bathroom, but I prevailed. And we were set up to enjoy Koh Lanta.
In the next video we finally rent a scooter in Thailand and get some open road exploring in. The simple one main road system in Koh Lanta and being able to rent a scooter directly through the hotel made it worth it. We go to Koh Lanta National Park at the southern tip of the island which has a beautiful cliff top view with an old light house, a stunning beach and plenty of awesome scenery, so stay tuned for the Koh Lanta exploration continuation Wednesday!
Thanks for tuning in everybody, we'd appreciate those likes down below if you enjoyed the content of course and would love to welcome any newcomers to our sub team so definitely subscribe if new as well!
Until next time friends!

The Krabi Quick Guide | Halal Food & Ao Nang Preview | Travel Thailand | 4K
Dwight walks you through what to expect and what to avoid in Krabi, Thailand!
See the previous episode:
All of the street food featured in this quick video guide to Krabi cost $1 or $2 per serving.
Foodie Travel Notes:
Krabitown: Lots of local restaurants for Thai Chinese, seafood, and spicy southern Thai dishes. Night market is not open very late and offerings seem average.
Ao Nang: Not as high quality as Krabitown, until you hit the outskirts. Lots of roti everywhere. Plenty of street food on main roads to be found. Small muslim walking street, but didn't have much happening when I visited. Lots of western food, but you need to be weary of sanitation everywhere.
Railay: The food is pretty mediocre here, FYI. Go for the beaches, monkeys, rock climbing, and other adventure sports instead. Spend some time on Tonsai beach and visiting the surrounding islands.
Got questions about Krabi, Ao Nang, or halal food in Thailand? Leave them in the comments below.

[TRAVEL VLOG] AONANG TO KRABI TOWN BY MOTORCYCLE
Hi...this is our (me & my husband) journey in Krabi. We stayed at Baan Kure Ngern Aonang hotel, near Aonang Beach. We decided to strolling around from Aonang to Krabi downtown by motorcycle.
22-23 km far...approximately 30 to 40 minutes by motorcycle or car. No traffic...we drive slowly because we are not familiar with the streets here....
AONANG KRABI TO RAILAY BEACH THAILAND || DAY TRIP ISLAND TRAVEL GUIDE
RAILAY BEACH AO NANG KRABI, THAILAND. RAILAY ISLAND TRAVEL GUIDE.
Our day trip from Ao Nang Krabi to Railay in Thailand. We started from ao nang beach and went to Railay west beach by longtail boat, then we went to Railay Walking street and Phranang nai cave and railay tourist information center. From there we went to Railay east beach broadwalk.
This video is taken during our day trip visit to Railay.
ABOUT Railay (Thai: อ่าวไร่เลย์), also known as Rai Leh, is a large peninsula between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang in Thailand. It is accessible only by boat due to high limestone cliffs cutting off mainland access. These cliffs attract rock climbers from all over the world, but the area is also popular due to its beautiful beaches and quiet relaxing atmosphere. Accommodation ranges from bungalows and medium-priced resorts in East Railay to a collection of luxury resorts focused on West Railay, though one, Rajavadee, spans both waterfronts and also has a beachfront restaurant at Ao Phra Nang. The four main areas of Railay consist of Phra Nang, West Railay, East Railay, and Ton Sai. Ton Sai caters to climbers and the backpacker set and is more rustic in character than the glitz of West Railay and the shops and restaurants of the East Railay boardwalk.
