Freediving Koh Phangan - We Love Koh Phangan
Freediving also called breath-hold diving or Apnea, is diving on a single breath of air without the use of artificial breathing equipment. It is the most natural way to explore the underwater world. Without any breathing apparatus, you are no longer just an observer, you are part of the Ocean.
Koh Phangan Travel Guide and Tourist Information - We Love Koh Phangan provides stacks of invaluable up to date advice and information. This easy to use Koh Phangan island guide allows you to book fun packed tours, activities, travel tickets, accommodation and more – all at discounted rates.
Famously known for hosting one of the world’s biggest parties every month over full moon, Koh Phangan is finally being recognised as one of the most magical, stunning islands in the Gulf of Thailand. With an abundance of coconut palms framing each and every breath taking beach, the crystal clear waters offering sun lovers a welcome break from the heat, and an atmosphere that leaves everyone smiling from ear to ear, it’s no wonder this island is becoming more and more popular for those seeking a trip to true paradise.
Breathtaking, welcoming and energizing; just some of the words used to describe this unique island, Koh Phangan, which sits in the southern Gulf of Thailand. It stands out from its neighbouring sister islands, Koh Samui and Koh Tao, due to its stunning, untouched mountainous landscape and unforgettable beaches.
It’s therefore no surprise that visitors who come to Koh Phangan find themselves staying longer than they had originally planned. Some people, who have been lucky enough to experience this island, say that there is a ‘magical pull’ which cannot be ignored. If this is the case, then this may help explain why people from all around the world come back here time and time again.

Diving Koh Tao Farmi
Doing my Open Water Diver Course at Koh Tao 2014
Introduction to FreeDiving (in Koh Phangan, by Pablo Kliksberg) 2016
After taking the first level course for Freediving I was so happy that I wanted to shared this information with others. So I made this video with some basic concepts about what Freediving is. For that I use texts comments and some pictures and videos I took diving in Koh Tao (Sharks Island), near Koh Phangan.
Free Diving is mainly a pack of techniques/skills that allows us safely and efficiently to dive without using tank, by just holding the breath. After the first level course one is able to:
* dive safe until 20 meters deep
* improve the capacity of holding the breath
* move our bodies for efficient use of the oxygen
* stay longer under water and go deep
Some essential techniques and concepts are: streaching, warming up, breathing techniques, using gear, buddy system, equalization and rescue, body movement.
For more information about the course, search for a certificated free diver instructor. If you are in Koh Phangan you could contact by Facebook to the school Fish & Ships Freediving Koh Phangan. Here the link:
Under water life is amazing. To watch what you can see diving in Sail Rock (is 1 hour by boat from Koh Phangan), watch this video:
