Tallow Creek BYRON Bay Australia
TALLOW CREEK is the beautiful, shallow Waterway just south of Byron Bay township.
It is landlocked but when we get a lot of rain it often breaks open, spilling out to the ocean and leaving fish, crustaceans and other marine inhabitants stranded on the muddy banks. There are some very large stingrays, flathead and eels in the waterway.
It's a popular swimming hole but you can't fish it as it is within the fragile Arakwal National Park.
In part of the footage where you fly from the ocean across a forest you will see much of the forest which was engulfed by flames during a recent fire in late September 2017.
