BARCELONA WALK | Arc de Triomf - Barcelona's Triumphal Arch | Spain
A first-person perspective Barcelona walk tour of the Arc de Triomf and its surround area.
Experience all of the sights and sounds as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person!) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of Barcelona, featuring Arc de Triomf, which is a Triumphal Arch. The tour begins at one end of Passeig de Lluís Companys, across from the Parc de la Ciutadella (Citadel Park), then travels to the other end of Passeig de Lluís Companys, going underneath the Arc de Triomf, near Passeig de Sant Joan.
Sights seen along the tour include A Francesc Rius i Taulet monument, Segway riders, street traders, tourists, and the Arc de Triomf.
And in each video I've hidden a blinking eye, can you spot it? (It could appear more than once). In addition to the blinking eye, I've also added the Watched Walker logo to various scenes–it could be on buildings, vehicles or any other objects, so keep an eye out for it too!

The arch is built in reddish brickwork in the Neo-Mudéjar style. The front frieze contains the stone sculpture Barcelona rep les nacions (Catalan for Barcelona welcomes the nations) by Josep Reynés. The opposite frieze contains a stone carving entitled Recompensa (Recompense), a work from Josep Llimona's earliest period, representing the granting of awards to the participants in the World Exposition. The friezes along the sides of the arch include allegories of agriculture and industry by Antoni Vilanova and of trade and art by Torquat Tassó.

Barcelona welcomes the nations is an appropriate title for the cream colored central bas-relief found on one of Spain's most prolific monuments.
The Arc de Triomf was built in 1888 for the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona, and served as the entrance to this event.
The red-brick arch was constructed in a Moorish Revival, also known as Mudejar, style of architecture.
Stone carvings and designs on the arch include a prize-giving ceremony, the city welcoming visitors, twelve women of fame, and a Spanish coat of arms.

The Arc de Triomf or Arco de Triunfo in Spanish, is a triumphal arch in the city of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. It was built, by architect Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas, as the main access gate for the 1888 Barcelona World Fair. The arch crosses over the wide central promenade of the Passeig de Lluís Companys, leading to the Ciutadella Park that now occupies the site of the world fair. It is located at the northern end of the promenade, facing the Passeig de Sant Joan.
The arch is built in reddish brickwork in the Neo-Mudéjar style. The front frieze contains the stone sculpture Barcelona rep les nacions (Catalan for Barcelona welcomes the nations) by Josep Reynés. The opposite frieze contains a stone carving entitled Recompensa (Recompense), a work from Josep Llimona's earliest period, representing the granting of awards to the participants in the World Exposition. The friezes along the sides of the arch include allegories of agriculture and industry by Antoni Vilanova and of trade and art by Torquat Tassó.
The two pillars of the arch feature stone bats, which were the emblem of King Jaume I, who ruled over a period of prosperity in Barcelona. Similar structures can be found in many other cities, most notably including the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the Wellington Arch in London, the Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch in New York City, and the Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest.

Thailand Festival || Arc de Triomf Barcelona Spain 2019
Sawadeekrub Thailand! Hundreds of people flocked to the Arc de Triomf Barcelona to join the Thai Festival on May 26, 2019. Lots of different and delicious Thai foods were on display and on sale. I was looking for sticky rice with mango, but I was not able to buy it, but I had Thai chicken curry. I also missed the demo of Muay Thai, Songkran and Loy Krathong because I had to leave to work. The traditional Thai dances were amazing. I saw Thai massage centers, Thai silk fabrics, Thai rickshaws, Singha beers, etc. I hope you enjoyed it.
