Seville Archaeological Museum
Museo de Arqueología Sevilla Parte I. Archeological Museum of Seville Part I.
The Archeological Museum of Seville (Spanish: Museo Arqueológico de Sevilla) is a museum in Seville, southern Spain, housed in the Pabellón del Renacimiento, one of the pavilions designed by the architect Aníbal González. These pavilions at the Plaza de España were created for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929.
Other halls of the museum contain findings from the Roman era, many of which are from the nearby Roman city of Itálica. The Itálica exhibits include mosaics, statues (including the famous Venus of Itálica), and busts of the emperors Augustus, Vespasianus, Trajan and Hadrian.

Plaza de España - Seville - Monuments At Seville
The Plaza de España (Spain Square, in English) is a plaza in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville, Spain, built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It is a landmark example of the Regionalism Architecture, mixing elements of the Renaissance Revival and Moorish Revival styles of Spanish architecture.
The Plaza de España, designed by Aníbal González, was a principal building built on the Maria Luisa Park's edge to showcase Spain's industry and technology exhibits. González combined a mix of 1920s Art Deco and mock Mudejar, and Neo-Mudéjar styles. The Plaza de España complex is a huge half-circle with buildings continually running around the edge accessible over the moat by numerous bridges representing the four ancient kingdoms of Spain. In the centre is the Vicente Traver fountain. By the walls of the Plaza are many tiled alcoves, each representing a different province of Spain.
South wing of the building.
Today the Plaza de España mainly consists of Government buildings. The central government departments, with sensitive adaptive redesign, are located within it. The Plaza's tiled Alcoves of the Provinces are backdrops for visitors portrait photographs, taken in their own home province's alcove. Towards the end of the park, the grandest mansions from the fair have been adapted as museums. The farthest contains the city's archaeology collections. The main exhibits are Roman mosaics and artefacts from nearby Italica.
The Plaza de España has been used as a filming location, including scenes for the 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia. The building was used as a location in the Star Wars movie series Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) — in which it featured in exterior shots of the City of Theed on the Planet Naboo.[5] It also featured in the 2012 film The Dictator.
The plaza was used as a set for the video of Simply Red's song Something Got Me Started.

Plaza de América:
The Plaza de America (Seville), located in the Parque de María Luisa, is flanked by the Museum of Popular Arts (Neomudéjar style) to the north, the Archaeological Museum (Neo-Renaissance style) to the south, and the Royal Pavilion (Gothic style) to the east. These three buildings were built by the architect Aníbal González between 1913 and 1916 for the future Ibero-American exhibition in 1929, each with a different architectural style. Also form Part of the roundabout of Miguel de Cervantes, adorned with the works Ceramics Recalling Most Famous, as Rodriguez Marin. The Plaza de América of Seville is a place of great beauty on the southern edge of the Parque de María Luisa. It consists of wonderful gardens, roundles and buildings built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exhibition.
The Miguel de Cervantes and Rodríguez Marín roundels are the most representative; on them we can admire the different streams with his most famous works. In the middle of the square is a pretty pond surrounded by pillars. These columns are connected to light balloons. On them are winged depictions of the Victoria, created by Manuel Delgado Brackembury and Lorenzo Coullaut Valera.

Seville, Spain
Exceptional tourist attractions, lively festivals and buzzing nightlife all make Seville one of the best places to visit in Spain. As the capital city of Andalusia, Seville is also the region’s financial and cultural capital. The city is home to many beautiful and important historic landmarks, chief of which is the grand Cathedral of Seville, where it is believed that Christopher Columbus is buried. Another significant building is the Real Alcazar, an extravagant Moorish palace with luxurious gardens.

Espacio Metropol Parasol, Seville - Spain 4K Travel Channel
The Espacio Metropole Parasol replaces the old covered market at the Plaza de of La Encarnación in Seville.Encarnación. The Metropole Parasol is already beautiful illuminated and fascinates already by its size. A giant mushroom-shaped structure of wood and steel was built on a platform, where you can find bars, restaurants, shops, a market and an archaeological museum. Actually, it consists of six mushrooms, which are connected at some points.
Footbridges on the roof serve as a viewing platform and adventure trails.
Originally an office building should be built here, but when archaeological remains were found here, it came to an invitation to tender for the redesign of the square.
The Berlin architect Mayer-Hermann won with his design and in 2005 the construction was started. Technical difficulties led to delays and significant increases in construction costs. The building was completed in 2011.
Suddenly it gets loud and rollerbladers arrive at the square. Apparently it's Blade Night in Seville.
We choose a restaurant with outdoor tables where we have a good view of the building and enjoy the sight for the rest of the evening.

The building of Seville Museum of Fine Arts is housed in was originally home to the convent of the Order of the Merced Calzada de la Asunción, founded by St. Peter Nolasco during the reign of King Ferdinand III of Castile. Major landmakrs include the ornate Alcázar castle complex, built during the Moorish Almohad dynasty, and the 18th-century Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza bullring. The Real Alcazar of Seville , Seville Cathedral, and the Archivo General de Indias (General Archive of the Indies) are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The St. Mary of the See Cathedral was built from 1401–1519 after the Reconquista on the former site of the city's mosque. It is among the largest of all medieval and Gothic cathedrals, in terms of both area and volume. The interior is the longest nave in Spain, and is lavishly decorated, with a large quantity of gold evident. La Giralda is a tower attached to the Cathedral that dates back to the twelfth century. It was originally built as part of a mosque when the Moors ruled in Spain and was later added onto by the Christians. Tourists today can climb the tower by walking up a series of ramps that were previously used by officials who rode their horses to the top of the tower. La Giralda gets its name from the weathervane attached to the very top of it, as gira means turning one in the Spanish language.
The Alcázar facing the cathedral was developed from a previous Moorish Palace. Construction was started in 1181 and continued for over 500 years, mainly in the Mudéjar style, but also in the Renaissance style. The popular TV show Game of Thrones has shot many scenes at this location.
The Torre del Oro was built as a watchtower and defensive barrier on the river. A chain was strung through the water from the base of the tower to prevent boats from traveling into the river port. The City Hall was built in the 16th century in high Plateresque style by master architect Diego de Riaño. The façade to Plaza Nueva was built in the 19th century in Neoclassical style.
The Palace of San Telmo, formerly the University of Sailors, and later the Seminary, is now the seat for the Andalusian Autonomous Government. It is one of the most emblematic buildings of baroque architecture, mainly to its world-renowned churrigueresque principal façade and the impressive chapel. The Royal Tobacco Factory is housed on the original site of the first tobacco factory in Europe, a vast 18th century building in Baroque style and the purported inspiration for the opera Carmen.
The Metropol Parasol, in La Encarnación square, is the world's largest wooden structure. A monumental umbrella-like building designed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer, finished in 2011. This modern architecture structure houses the central market and an underground archaeological complex. The terrace roof is a city viewpoint. The General Archive of the Indies, is the repository of extremely valuable archival documents illustrating the history of the Spanish Empire in the Americas and the Philippines. The building itself, an unusually serene and Italianate example of Spanish Renaissance architecture, was designed by Juan de Herrera.
The Plaza de España, in Maria Luisa Park (Parque de Maria Luisa), was built by the architect Aníbal González for the 1929 Exposición Ibero-Americana. It is an outstanding example of Regionalist Revival Architecture, a bizarre and loftily conceived mixture of diverse historic styles, such as Art Deco and lavishly ornamented with typical glazed tiles. The neighbourhood of Triana, situated on the west bank of the Guadalquivir River, played an important role in the history of the city and constitutes by itself a folk, monumental and cultural center. On the other hand, La Macarena neighbourhood is located on the northern side of the city centre. It contains some important monuments and religious buildings, such as the Museum and Catholic Church of La Macarena or the Hospital de las Cinco Llagas.

Week 9 in Sevilla: Plaza de América, Alameda, & Plaza Nueva
This week I explored more around Sevilla on the bike and came across many different types of beautiful flowers. I went to various cafes to study in Alameda de Hércules and I also gave some updates on my upcoming trip to Morocco. The dates are wrong since my trip was cancelled and then re-planned due to the weather. Now I will be in Morocco March 29th-March 31st. Only 3 short days, but I am happy to be going. More on that in the next video.
