First trip abroad - Moscow, Russia (Re-uploaded)
This is my very first time travelling abroad back in 2016 and I met my online friends in real life. What a crazy story! haha Me and my malaysian friend, jordan decided to fly to moscow russia in september 2016 and it was very cold weather at that time. But we still enjoyed our days exploring the city of moscow .
Main attractions moscow:
1. St Basil's Cathedral
2. Moscow Kremlin
3. Red square
4. Gorky park
5. Bolshoi Theatre
6. Lenin's Mausoleum
7. All-Russian Exhibition Center
Reasons you should visit Moscow:
The city of Moscow is the largest historical, cultural, and administrative city in the entire Russian Federation. The capital of the most gigantic country on the planet is considered to be quite fast, lively, crowded, and mystical with its various historical neighbourhoods and hidden gems. The streets here are quite busy, and the traffic is tough; weather conditions might vary from cold to hot, and you can never predict it. Despite these climate conditions, the city remains an amazing and a picturesque one, and there are definitely a whole host of reasons to come here at least once in a lifetime.
1. MOSCOW ARCHITECTURE
In Moscow you can travel through ages just walking through the streets. Diversified architectural styles wait for you at every turn.
To see the beauty of ancient Russian architecture, visit the Kremlin or Kolomenskoe Museum. These places keep the unique Russian style, original and exceptional.
The Moscow estates are good examples of the romantic flavor of the XVIII-XIX century’s architecture.
The Home-museum of M. Gorky is situated in in a luxurious house built by F. Shechtel, well-known Russian architecture at beginning of the XX century. It is a fantastic example of Art-Nouveau style, one of the few saved places from that epoque, open to visitors.
You can find constructivism in architecture, the most striking manifestation of Russian avant-garde, not far from the Arbat Street. The Soviet Empire style can be found on most of the Moscow central avenues and Tverskaya Street. The White Square Business District is a remarkable example of contemporary city building.
2. MOSCOW ART
Moscow has a great amount of exceptional museums and galleries. The State Tretyakov Gallery, The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, The Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow Museum of Modern Art and lots of other museums have unique collections and hold remarkable exhibitions.
Lots of Moscow former industrial areas have become interesting cultural spaces, undoubtedly worth visiting. Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Center for Contemporary Art Winzavod, ARTPLAY Center of Design, Flacon Design Factory are the new city meccas of cultural life. You can find here galleries, concept stores, cafes, educational activities and lots of art events – from designer fairs to concerts, exhibitions of Russian and foreign artists.
3. CITY PARKS
The parks have undoubtedly become the pride of Moscow. These city areas have turned into well groomed nature spots, with enormous amount of things to do for the last few years.
Have a walk, do the sports, play a board game, meet your friends in one of the cafes and restaurants, watch a movie or go to a concert – all these is available in Moscow parks. The Gorky Park, Sokolniki, Fili and also recently opened Zaryadye – are only a small part in the diversity of Moscow green areas.
4. Orthodox churches
The Moscow region has around 830 Orthodox churches, monasteries and chapels. You may view these religious architectural masterpieces in every single neighbourhood of the city. The majority of these places are open daily to visitors, and each of them has a unique collection of religious paintings of Orthodox saints.
5. Picturesque city views
The city of Moscow is famous for its huge number of high points and spectacular city views from various neighbourhoods. One of the most popular observation points nowadays is the ‘Federation Tower’ located in the Moscow City business area; however, it’s just one of the many places where you can take a beautiful picture and view the sunset. We highly recommend it!
6. Russian cuisine
Russia offers its visitors an enormous variety of traditional dishes. Some of them are considered to be real culinary masterpieces. Only in Moscow you can find many restaurants featuring national cuisine, ranging from budget to Michelin-starred.
7. Moscow’s nightlife
‘Moscow never sleeps!’ – that’s what locals say about the city, and this is 100% true. Moscow’s nightlife is very fun, never-ending and just might get you quite tipsy. Local clubs, bars and dance halls provide many interesting options to its guests even on a Monday night.
