Ming Art Macau - Art of the Ming Porcelain - China Hong Kong Art
Today I visited the Instituto para os Assuntos Civicos E Municipais and enjoyed the exhibition of The Beginning of the Art of the Ming Porcelain with Chinese ceramics and Ming porcelain from the Ming Dynasty.
Instituto para os Assuntos Civicos E Municipais is the former city municipality from when Macau was still a Portuguese colony. Today it is more like a Macau art museum used for small specialised exhibitions like this with Ming porcelain from the Ming Dynasty.

East meets west at Macau annual art festival
Culture vultures have been flocking to the small but vibrant city of Macau, which kicked off its ninth annual Arts Festival this week and runs through to March 8th. Macau is in fact the oldest European settlement in the Far East and was developed by the Portuguese as a trading post in the 15th Century. Macau is proud of its East meets West heritage and this is reflected in its rich and varied cultural mix. Among the highlights from this year's programme are a group of jazz singers performing in a church, an Austrian brass band, Taiwanese percussionists, contemporary Portuguese dancers, state of the art bonsai trees in the Lou Lim Ioc Gardens and exhibitions of cartoon comics and local painters.

Walking into the well-known Suzhou Gardens - Lou Lim Ieoc Garden, Macau
The most Chinese of all of Macao's gardens is the Lou Lim Ieoc Garden that is combining Classical and Chinese architecture elements. It was built by a wealthy 19th century Chinese merchant, Lou Kau, and was inherited by his son Lou Lim Ieoc in 1906. When the family fortunes declined the garden fell into ruins, but it was eventually purchased and restored by the government and opened to the public in 1974.

The busiest place in the centre Largo do Senado, the square attracts the tourists with Portuguese and baroque style tall buildings. Walking towards the north we can see the preserved sight-seeing places such as Monte Fort, a very old preserved fort, the ruins of St. Pauls Church revealing the history and cultural heritage of Macou.
The museum of Macau adds more history to the visitors. In the southwest part of the city there is a very old and famous A-Ma shrine belonging to Ming Dynasty of 14th century dedicated to the Goddess of Sea A-Ma. Thousands of people come to this temple and devout their prayers during the festival season.
The southern part of this city is the newly developed area while the central and western areas are glorious with traditional and historic places. The southern part of the peninsula has the latest and modern buildings, gambling centres Casinos and museums. Art Museum, Wine Museum, Grand Prix Museums are some of the museums located in Macau delivers the culture and history of the Macou people to the international tourists.
The two islands Taipa and Coloane are connected to Macau by two bridges, attracts the beach loving tourists. The Macau Jockey Club's attracts the gamblers with its spectacular horse-racing. The two sea-side areas Hac Sa Bay and Bamboo Bay are enjoyable place of nature beauty. Not only sight-seeing but also delicious traditional cuisines of various countries comfort the food-lovers should never be missed.
It is a deserving tourist spot with traditional and modern cultures, a peaceful place with prosperity to rejuvenate a weary tourist.
