Things To Do in Thailand (Bangkok's Weekend Market)
Today we travel around Bangkok and explore the things to do arriving at the Chatuchak market place. Here you can buy cheap clothes, jewelery, souvenirs, and anything else the streets have to offer. Filled with local food stalls and drinks, it is definitely a place to indulge in Thailand’s authentic cuisines. Known for having spicy and delicious food, i decide to spend the day eating pad thai, mango salads, and the exotic fruits of Bangkok. Filled with backpackers and tourists, this is a must go to destination. Vlog #236

Thailand's Best FLOATING MARKET with Mark Wiens!
Have you ever heard of a floating market before? If not, you're in for a real treat (literally, wait until you see how much we ate)!
In Thailand, some markets are floating -- meaning they function entirely on narrow canals with small boats moving up and down . You pay a small price to hire a boat driver for an hour (or longer), and then choose which delicious meals to eat from dozens of vendors (on boats) with elderly women cooking up something unique. It's all cheap and delicious and this is debatably the best experience you can have in Thailand.
This morning, my buddy Mark Wiens from Migrationology and I headed 2 hours outside of Bangkok to a floating market called Damnoen Saduak, where he introduced me to some of Thailand's best dishes. We had a blast shooting this video and I hope you enjoy what we have to share!
Also -- If you don't already know, Mark makes some of the best food travel videos out there, so check out his page below for more deliciousness.

3 BEST TEMPLES IN BANGKOK THAILAND - Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Grand Palace
We were on a mission to visit the 3 best temples in Bangkok Thailand and we found them! Taking the Chao Phraya Express Boat is an easy way to visit both Wat Arun and Wat Pho which are two of the most beautiful Thailand Temples in the entire country!
One of the most popular Bangkok tourist places, the Grand Palace was a little more difficult to find. We didn’t end up making it in time to enter. We decided to come back the next day and we were finally able to explore the Grand Palace Thailand. We were shocked at how many other people were exploring it too! The Grand Palace was filled with the most tourists we have ever seen.
Our favorite Bangkok Temple was hands down Wat Arun Temple, otherwise known as the Temple of the Dawn. It is one of the only temples in Bangkok left that you can climb on. We got lucky while visiting Wat Arun because there weren’t that many tourists there.
A quick boat ride across the Chao Phraya River led us to another Buddhist Temple, Wat Pho or Temple of the Reclining Buddha. The Reclining Buddha is one of the most iconic figures in all of Bangkok Thailand and we were happy to see it. Wat Pho was pretty busy with tourists, but it was an incredible experience to finally see the Reclining Buddha.
In our opinion, the 3 Best Temples in Bangkok Thailand are:
1. Wat Arun - Temple of the Dawn (100 Baht entrance fee)
2. Grand Palace - (500 Baht entrance fee) Incredibly impressive, although expensive and too many tourists
3. Wat Pho - Temple of the Reclining Buddha (100 Baht entrance fee)
* Unlike other travel vloggers, we live and work in a different country each month. Our channel will show you what it’s like to live abroad while exploring top tourist destinations and hidden gems. We will eat local cuisine but still find the best spots to have American food while overseas. Each month we rent an apartment or airbnb in a different city or country, so follow along on this journey and learn about countries around the world. We hope you enjoy our travel vlog, don’t forget to subscribe!

Thailand is a beautiful place, I was lucky enough to visit 5 years ago and meet a lot of Thai people. Chiang Mai: A Guide to Traveling in Thailand
View our city guide video to see what it’s like to travel to Thailand. The city of Chiang Mai has it all, from peaceful temples to enthralling bazaars.
As the largest city in Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai packs in a lot. There’s no shortage of adventure in this city surrounded by mountains and dotted with temples. While there is certainly a lot to see and sample, Chiang Mai is considered a slightly sleepier, quieter town than its southern neighbor, Bangkok.
Chiang Mai takes great pride in retaining its traditions. The city’s spirituality remains a significant element of the Thai culture, and the town’s countless temples help keep its religious values alive. During your adventure in this part of Thailand, make a stop at the Wat Phra That on top of Doi Suthep. Built in 1383, the sacred temple was inspired by a local legend about a white elephant carrying a relic. While visiting the shrines, take a minute to soak up the sweeping views of Chiang Mai from the top of the Doi. Don’t stop at just one temple, though; there are hundreds of others located in and around Chiang Mai.
Exploring the markets is another way to get a taste of the Thai culture, and you’ll find some great eats at North Gate, South Gate, and Marorot Market, among countless others. The night markets, Chiang Mai Night Bazaar in particular, are exceptional places to sample the local fare and mingle with the locals. Slurp up some noodles and nosh on some stir-fried dishes, or brave something you’ve never tried before—crickets and mealworms, anyone? Along with authentic grub, you’ll find touristy souvenirs, home goods, clothing, and various other goods at this market, too.
Looking to discover more things to do in Chiang Mai? Consider visiting the Thai Elephant Conservation Center. This sanctuary includes a hospital that helps rehabilitate elephants that have been abused or injured. Take a tour of the facility to see elephants taking baths, painting with their trunks, and giving rides. A trip to this organization will provide insight into conservation efforts and scientific studies of these gentle giants.
When the travel bug starts to bite, consider a trip to Thailand. Our travel guide video gives a sneak peek into the captivating Chiang Mia tours available, from temples to markets. Check out our clip and start packing for a romp in Southeast Asia.

Must Do in Bangkok, Thailand - Chao Phraya River Boat Cruise
Come and join us for our trip along Chao Phraya River in Bangkok Thailand.
TRIP TO MAHARAJ PIER:
For the first leg of our trip we went to Maharaj station where we can find the temple of Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace. A tour guide is on board to explain what passengers can see and do in varius stops of the tour. They speak in English and Thai.
Chao Phraya is the life blood of Bangkok. It runs through the Central plains of Thailand downwards to Gulf of Thailand. Importants landmarks lined the riverbanks of Chao Phraya river which can be seen in this tour.
You can sit on the front deck of the ship for better viewing. Maximum of 6 people can stay in the deck at a time. Mix of old and new establishments can be seen along the banks including five star hotels, temples, embasies and churches.
The mirror building River City is the first river shopping mall of Bangkok.
China town is the largest chinese community in Bangkok.
Yodpiman River Walk is a themed mall inspired by the architecture of Thailand's Ayuthaya period. It offers a great view of the river specially during sunset.
The grand palace as seen from the river bank and view from Maharaj Port. Riverboats carry people and cargo along and across the river.
THE EMERALD TEMPLE
Flocks of tourists visits the temple so it can really crowdy.
Phra Si Rattana Chedi, a gold pagoda is said to house Buddha's breastbone. Alongside it the the Mondop and Pantheon.
The Emerald temple or Wat Phra Kaew is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist Temple in Thailand. It houses the emirald Buddha. According to legend the Emerald Buddha came from Thailand and it is said to bring prosperity to the country that houses it. Unfortunately we are not allowed to take videos inside the temple.
THE GRAND PALACE
Grand Palace serves as the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782 when it was built by King Rama I. Several museums are located on the base of the palace showcasing weaponries that were previously used in Siam (which later became Thailand).
TRIP TO THA TIEN PIER:
Our next stop took us to Tha Tien port where the What Pho or Temple of the Rechining Buddha is located.
The temple of Reclining Buddha is considered the first public university of Thailand, teaching children religion, science and literature. The temple is famous for teaching traditional Thai medicine and Thai Massage.
After ringing the gong visitors are encourage to you donate money into the box. Please pay attention to these reminders while visiting the temple.
The statue of the reclining Buddha was built by King Rama III in 1832 to represent the entry of Buddha into Nirvana and the end of all reincarnation. The posture is refered to as 'sihasaiyas' or the posture of sleeping lion. The statue is 15m high and 46m long. The status is made of brick covered with plaster and gold leaves.
For 20 Batt (price may change) you will be given 108 coins to drop in the pots. These 108 coins represent the 108 auspicous character of Buddha and said to bring good fortunes to those who drop the coins in the pots.
We can see the great chedis or mound of Wat Pho Temple.
TRIP TO PAK KLONG TALAD PIER:
We took the boat again this time to Pak Klong Talad Pier to visit the flower market.
This flower market is one of the primary flower market in Bangkok. The market is open 24 hours, it is busiest before dawn when buses and trucks arrive with flowers from nearby provinces.
Here you can see a flower vendor skillfully turns the lotus flower bud into a full bloomed flower by bending and tucking its petals.
During sunset Pak Klong Talad Pier offers a great view of the Sunset. Yodpiman river walk has an open second floor balcony where you can take great photo or vidoes of the river.
GOING HOME:
After spending a fullfilling day in the river we must head back Central pier now.
Thank you for watching. Please don't forget to give this video a thumbs up and leave a comment below.

ABOUT US:
We're Rhett & Claire, a couple from Johannesburg, South Africa. We left Africa to embark on an adventure starting off in Asia! We would really love to have you follow along on this adventure! Our first few months will be spent in South East Asia where we are enrolled for a TESOL course in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam!
Our goal for this channel is to document and show you guys as much of the process as possible while making it fun, informative and cinematic. So stay tuned if you are interested in exploring new places with us, eating weird and wonderful foods and diving into the local culture and life as an English teacher in Asia.
