The first place I hit was Smelly Cat Coffee, where I had a double espresso to help me wake up after a long travel day to Charlotte.

Next, I visited Haberdish for a delicious, authentic Southern feast of charred okra, hush puppies, sweet potato dumplings with parmesan cheese and a habanero hot sauce, pickles, and some of the best macaroni & cheese and fried chicken I’ve ever had!

After my delicious meal at Haberdish, I made my way over to Heist Brewery, where I had a flight of amazing beers including Hive Five dry hopped honey blonde ale, their Brunch Junkie breakfast stout, a citrus-y IPA, and the Bee Fruitful IPA.

My next stop was Free Range Brewing, where I tried another flight of amazing beers including the Cream of the Crop, the Modern IPA, the Farmhouse Cezanne, and the Coffee Brown.

After that, I went to Amelie’s Bakery and Cafe for their mouthwatering chocolate petit and salted caramel brownie.

And lastly, I visited the award-winning Divine Barrel Brewing, where I had five beers Here Wit Heart, Take Me For Granted, Son of Mr. Green Genes, Silk Sheets, and finally, Ice Cream Paint Job. They were all incredible!

In 1987, the U.S. Sentencing Commission transformed criminal law in the United States in releasing the original Federal Sentencing Guidelines. From the start, Hofstra Law was at the forefront of sentencing scholarship, publishing key insights from the earliest days of the Commission. On Monday, October 23, distinguished members of the Judiciary, past and present Commissioners, and leading scholars commemorated the original U.S. Sentencing Commission and marked the 30th Anniversary of the Sentencing Guidelines at the Hofstra University Club.

At. 8:30 a.m. Eastern, the Post’s Libby Casey will be joined by reporters Amber Phillips, Elise Viebeck and Rhonda Colvin. Fiona Hill, the former National Security Council Russia adviser, and David Holmes, counselor for political affairs at the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, will testify beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern. Democrats are trying to build a case that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son. So far, seven people have testified publicly.
William B. Taylor Jr., the acting ambassador to Ukraine, and George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state responsible for Ukraine, testified on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Marie Yovanovitch, the former ambassador to Ukraine, testified on Friday, Nov. 15.
On Tuesday, Nov. 19, Congress heard from Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, the top Ukraine expert for the National Security Council, Jennifer Williams, Vice President Pence’s special adviser on Europe and Russia, Kurt D. Volker, the former United States special envoy to Ukraine, and Timothy Morrison, a Europe and Russia expert for the National Security Council.
On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, David Hale, the undersecretary of state for political affairs, and Laura Cooper, deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, testified. A homeowner snapped this shot of Jimmie Cox diving into murky water to try and fix the problem. Inside Edition connected Cox with Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs, who commended the plumber for his dedication to his dirty job.
