EXPLORING BALI: The most beautiful HINDU temple in UBUD (INDONESIA) ????
SUBSCRIBE: - BALI, the most beautiful HINDU temple in UBUD (INDONESIA)! I discovered this beautiful temple in Ubud, the ancient capital of Bali, Indonesia. It is very difficult to find since you have to follow an alley and it is behind a colorful gate. The statues and the rest of the temple are rather new but it is the paining and the colors that make this site stand out from all the rest. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Bali is an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, beaches and coral reefs. The island is home to religious sites such as cliffside Uluwatu Temple. To the south, the beachside city of Kuta has lively bars, while Seminyak, Sanur and Nusa Dua are popular resort towns. The island is also known for its yoga and meditation retreats.

Ubud royal palace, Bali, Indonesia
Ubud royal palace, Bali, Indonesia 2013
The Ubud Palace, officially Puri Saren Agung, is a historical building complex situated in Ubud, Gianyar Regency of Bali, Indonesia.
The palace is the official residence of the royal family of Ubud. It was on his travels that he received a divine revelation that in Bali he was to bury five precious metals on a mountain slope where the mother temple of Besakih now stands today. Along with a group of followers, Rsi Markaneya was magnetically attracted to a destination located in the central foothills of the island that radiated light and energy. This place was Campuhan in Ubud at a junction in the Wos River and it was here that he felt compelled to build a temple by the name of Pura Gunung Lebah.
The Balinese village of Ubud can trace its roots to as far back as the 8th century. It is documented on ancient palm leaf scripts that a revered holy man from India by the name of Rsi Markaneya embarked on a spiritual journey across Java and eventually came to the island of Bali to spread the teachings of Hinduism.

TOP 5 MUST-SEE TEMPLES IN BALI
Blog post:
Of all my travels so far, I can say with certainty that in Bali I have had the most spiritual experience. For a month of discovering, one by one, the beauties of the island, I included some Balinese temples in the itinerary, as well. And it was hard enough to choose which ones to visit because there are too many, more than 20,000. Each house has its own mini temple, and each village has at least three important temples dedicated to Hindu deities, each of which has an essential role in community life. Due to the extremely large number of religious spaces, the island has acquired a title as “Island of the 1000 Temples”.

ubud bali indonesia amazing place indonesia vlog
Perched on the highlands of Bali, Ubud is an all-round destination not to miss when traveling the region. With scenic a landscape, lively art scene, rich cultural atmosphere, and countless lifestyle attractions, there are no limits to the things you can do in this charming town. From yoga to shopping, discover the top things to see in Ubud, Bali.
Visit Tegalalang Rice Terrace
The scenic stretch of rice terraces has become one of the most iconic sights from Bali. Clear blue sky, tall palm trees, and lush tropical greeneries surrounding different levels of rice fields are surely a breathtaking sight to behold, but Ubud’s rice terraces are more than just a postcard-worthy view. It is a manifestation of an ancient Balinese Hindu philosophy organized by a local social unit called ‘subak’. Tourists can also explore the villages nearby to hear fascinating local stories and observe the customs and lifestyles of people who built and now maintain the glorious rice terraces.
Explore Ubud Monkey Forest
Mainly popular as a calming, lush forest with hundreds of monkeys roaming about, Ubud Monkey Forest is more than just a natural attraction. The 12.5-hectare (30.8-acre) land does offer a serene atmosphere, from the towering trees to traditional stone-carved statues. But the compound was actually built as a manifestation of an ancient traditional philosophy called Tri Hita Karana, the ‘three causes of well-being’, that include the harmony with God, with other people, and with nature; so it also houses temples and social halls to observe.
Cycle around Ubud
When the outdoors are that good — tropical greeneries, blue skies, and tropical sun — it would be a shame to get around exclusively in an air-conditioned car. Cycling will not only set a more relaxed pace to immerse in the sublime nature atmosphere, it’ll also be an enjoyable exercise to help burn some of that holiday weight from eating too much satay or Balinese grilled pork with beer. You can rent a bicycle and figure your own route through the rice fields and villages or sign up for an organized cycling tour in Ubud.
Watch traditional performances
Known as Bali’s art and culture capital, Ubud is the ultimate place to enjoy various traditional performances, from the notorious Kecak fire dance to local youths practicing their gamelan in the town hall. You can catch one of these performances anywhere from the Royal Palace to restaurants and public places.
Learn traditional performances and crafts
It sure is fun to observe and shop traditional Balinese arts and crafts, but it’s much more eye-opening to learn how to do or make those yourself. Ubud has various workshops with passionate locals who will show you how to perform a Balinese dance, make pottery, play the gamelan instruments, and all those things that have been fascinating you ever since you got to the neighborhood. Most also have one-day programs and special classes for kids.
Get on the mat
One way to embrace Ubud’s tranquil surroundings and quirky vibe is to get on the yoga mat and hit some poses. The cool air, warm sunshine, chirping of birds, and shady trees will definitely craft a remarkable and unforgettable zen experience. There are numerous reputable yoga studios in Ubud, many of which offer an all-round wellness rejuvenation, such as Yoga Barn and Radiantly Alive. But if you’re feeling adventurous, head to Ambar Ashram and try their intriguing laughter yoga.
at raw
In Ubud, raw food is not reserved for earth-loving hippies and hardcore vegans. Raw food just happens to go well with the overall wellness and chill vibe of the neighborhood. Be sure to try eating raw or at least vegan once when in Ubud. You’ll be surprised to learn how these healthy dishes can taste so good, especially if you get your nutrition fix at the famed Living Food Lab, Sari Organik, or Earth Cafe.
Museum and gallery-hopping
Bali, especially Ubud, with all its quirks and charms, has captivated and inspired countless talented artists. Now, tourists can enjoy some of the best works from some of the world’s greatest in Ubud’s many galleries and art museums. Blanco Renaissance Museum houses the maestro’s artworks in his own mansion overlooking the lush tropical jungles, while the Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) and Neka Art Museum showcase assorted collections from both renowned and contemporary artists across the globe.
Cultural and spiritual landmarks
Yes, plural. Ubud’s many palaces and temples attest to the neighborhood’s significance and dynamics as a destination. Ubud Royal Palace or Puri Saren Agung is easily one of the neighborhood’s most highlighted landmarks. With ornate carvings and a grand structure, it reverberates a truly regal feel but with a calming ambiance amid lush, manicured gardens. Among the must-visit temples in Ubud are the stone-carved Goa Gajah, Tirta Empul water temple, and Pura Taman Saraswati with the gorgeous lotus ponds. bali indonesia indonesia vlog

Pasar Senggol, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia
The night market in Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia, known as Pasar Senggol is an amazing place to eat a range of different Indonesian Balinese street food!
One evening, we headed over to the market at about 5 pm to start eating, and in this video I’ll show you everything I ate on this Balinese street food tour.
Babi guling - Babi guling, or Balinese style roast pig, is one of the ultimate things you have to eat, especially if you enjoy pork, when you’re in Bali. I started the street food tour off with a plate of babi guling. I was alright, but could have been better had it been hot and fresher.
30,000 IDR ($2.20) per plate
Sweets - Along with full meals, you’ll find an abundance of Indonesian street food snacks and desserts. Klepon was my favorite.
1,000 IDR ($0.7) per box
Nasi ayam campur - This stall served one of the best single plates of food I had in Bali, ayam betutu and some mixed chicken all over a plate of rice with all the toppings and mixes. The food was sensational, packed with flavor.
25,000 IDR ($1.84)
Tipat cantok - Similar to another common Indonesian street food called gado gado, tipat cantok includes rice cakes and bean sprouts in a peanut sauce. It was pretty good, and I enjoyed how you could watch her making it in front of you.
7,000 IDR ($0.51)
Serombotan - Finally, to end this Indonesian street food tour in Bali, I had a serving of something called serombotan, a delicious mixture of vegetables and coconut and shrimp paste. It was surprisingly very good and flavorful.
5,000 IDR ($0.37)

Balian | Bali's Traditional Healer
BALI: Real Balinese healers continue to use the ancient knowledge of their ancestors to treat people without expecting anything in return.
I Gusti Mangku Sumantra is a traditional healer from the Gianyar region of Bali who has been healing people since the 1970s when his father passed away.
Bali has a long tradition of Bali Usada, also known as Balinese traditional healing. This practice uses natural herbs and spices, holistic therapies and ancient wisdom to cure physical and mental illness.
The Balinese live equally in two worlds: the seen or conscious world called sekala, and the unseen or psychic world, called niskala. In traditional Balinese healing, both of these elements are addressed in order to truly heal an ill patient.

Stone Carving in Ubud, Bali
Ubud is considered the cultural capital of Bali, Indonesia, and it's easy to see why considering the skill of the artists there. The banter was translated in editing from Balinese and the results turned out to be a bit amusing.
East Bali | Tirta Gangga + Lempuyang Temple
East Bali is a special place with peaceful ancient temples and gardens. I was amazed at how beautiful this side of the island is and I felt like there were less tourists than usual. In this video we visited the royal water gardens of Tirta Gangga and one of the oldest temples in Bali, Lempuyang Temple.

Bali CRISPY DUCK - UBUD's Ultimate Food & Start of an Indonesian FOOD TOUR
This is the first of an epic 8 part series throughout Indonesia!
I started the day off as I would like most my days to start, with some grilled fish and balinese spices! This fish was something special as they add a little something else to this fish that really made it superb! Not to mention all the sambal they gave me!
Next up I went for some unreal pork satay. If you like your satay thick, peanuty, and sweet, this is the satay for you! The pieces had a great char and were nice and chewy!
After some satay, I took a break to grab some coffee and sweets to help get me back up and out of my food coma! I love some bali kopi and the coconut tart was great, just really needed a better crust and it would have been unreal how delicious it would have been!
Lastly, I went for the dirty duck diner! Somewhere that had become very famous for it’s crispy duck. No, surprise why it is famous, the duck is phenomenal, but for me...all I needed were those three sambals and I would have been just fine.

Just a guy from Arkansas chasing his dreams of traveling the world, meeting amazing people, and trying all the delicious food I can find!
Recently finished working in Hong Kong. I am from a small farm in the states, I am now taking advantage and the opportunities I have to travel the world in search of some of the most delicious foods, unique places, and friendliest people.
A lover of street food, good laughs, and learning about other cultures. I hope to indulge in all these things and more as I bring you along with me on my epic journeys.

Special thank you to Made for driving us around!
Bali is an amazing place to eat - there are so many incredible dishes, and the unique Balinese culture paired with the food is what makes it so special. In this Indonesian street food tour of Bali, I’m taking you to 6 street food stalls / restaurants in a row, for serious food lovers!
Warung Nasi Bali Men Weti - Some consider this legendary stall, right along the ocean to be the best Balinese local street food spot in Denpasar, Bali, and after eating it, there’s absolutely no room for argument. The plate of food you’ll be served is nothing short of spectacular, full of Balinese flavor.
Price - 25,000 IDR ($1.83) per plate
Warung Mak Beng - Known for their fried fish set, Warung Mak Beng is another legendary Balinese restaurant. Their fish was amazing, both the fish head soup and the fried fish, and not forgetting their amazing sambal. Another must eat when you’re in Bali.
Price - 45,000 IDR ($3.29) per set
Sate Plecing Arjuna - This is a place you come to eat sate plecing, a type of Indonesian street food sate that’s covered in a shrimp paste chili sambal. They were incredibly delicious as well, especially the samel.
Total price - 68,000 IDR ($4.98)
Sate Babi Bawah Pohon - In Bali, pork is very common, and this is probably one of the most well known Indonesian street food stalls in all of Bali. For me the pork sate was a little on the sweet side, however it was still pretty tasty.
Price - 25,000 IDR ($1.83)
Babi Guling Pak Dobiel - When it comes to Balinese food, there’s nothing more famous to try than babi guling, Balinese style roast pig served with all the side dishes. It’s spectacular combination and you’ll find dozens of restaurants serving babi guling. In this Balinese food tour I went to Babi Guling Pak Dobiel, and it’s the best plate of babi guling I had in Bali.
Total price - 100,000 IDR ($7.32) for 2
Warung Kintamani - Ubud - Finally, to finish off this Balinese food tour, we headed back to Ubud and Made, took me to eat mujair nyatnyat, tilapia in a curry sauce. It was awesome delicious, a perfect way to end this Indonesian street food tour of Bali.
Total price - 105,000 IDR ($7.68) for 3

I have a real treat of a meal and video for you today - this I can say is one of the best meals and experiences I’ve had in a very long time - combining both the amazing culture of Bali, Indonesia, and the incredible Balinese food in one.
Puri Banyuning, Bongkasa, Bali - Andre is part of a Balinese Royal family, and he invited us over to their family palace grounds. I was immediately blown away by the palace grounds, the beauty of the architecture and the lush greenery of Bali.
After walking around for a while, and getting dressed in a local Balinese sarong, it was time to get started. The chef at the Palace is an insane cook, and cooks so fast and so expertly, it’s amazing to watch him.
We started cooking an Indonesian food Balinese feast including some of the best Balinese dishes like sate lilit, tum ayam Balin, lawar, ares soup, and be lindung. Also part of the Royal Balinese food experience was how the food was displayed and decorated - it was nothing short of incredible to see and to eat!
Thank you for watching this Indonesian food Royal Balinese video! And special thank you to Andre for arranging everything:
