BANGKOK STREET FOOD AND DISCO TUK TUK TOUR | THAILAND VLOG #6
After a long day visiting temples in Ayutthaya I made it back to Bangkok where I checked into the Chatrium Riverside hotel. I had the most wonderful view from my room, but as we had such a short stay there I went straight to the swimming pool to cool down and relax as the sun set. In the evening we went on a short street food tour in the Chinatown area of Bangkok via a disco tuk tuk, it was great fun!

Tuk Tuk is a three-wheel-open-sided buggies. Riding a tuk-tuk is more of an experience rather than a practical way to get around. The fare is varied, depending on the distance travelled and sometimes it might occur that the driver 'exaggerated’ rate (especially if you're a tourist).
Nowadays, most tuk tuk drivers already know basic english, so you don’t have to be afraid to call for a service. And since it’s got three wheels, it may sometimes give you a rollercoaster experience if the driver turns very fast.
Meetrip is a travel community marketplace, where locals offer a wide variety of authentic and area-specific experiences for visitors.

In this video we are talking about Tuk Tuk’s and why you should, or rather shouldn’t, take a Tuk Tuk.
Tuk Tuks are a tireless workhorse for the local Thai population, serving as both convenient people transport and flexible cargo hauler. Look long enough and you will see anything and everything being moved around in a Tuk Tuk (Shots of different items in the tuk tuk)
However, for tourists, they are not always the best choice for getting around
Tuk Tuks can be more expensive than taxis and are more often associated with annoying tourist scams. The most common Tuk Tuk scam is that a driver will give you a tour of 4 or 5 different temples, he will drive you to them and wait for you in between for 40 baht, which is around a dollar.
Sounds great right? Well, yes. But he will make more stops at shops you haven’t asked for. If you stay inside long enough or buy something, the driver will receive a commission or a voucher for free gas.
So if you want to take a Tuk Tuk, how do you do it? The number one rule is to set the price before you get in the Tuk Tuk. So how do you set a price? Don’t be scared to negotiate with the driver, they are used to it and it’s completely normal. Ask the driver how much it would be, you can start by dividing it in half, and then you can meet them somewhere in the middle.
So, what about Thai people. Do Thai people use tuk tuks?
Tuk Tuks are used by local people as cheaper and more flexible transportation than taxis. Thai people usually get a way lower price than foreigners, so for them it’s often cheaper.
Also around Markets, you will find a lot of Tuk Tuks, they are there to help stall owners to bring cargo to and from the market. Tuk Tuks are really the work horses of Thailand, they are almost indestructible and great for moving a lot of stuff or people at once.
Or if they are with a group, because taxi’s only allow 4 people maximum, and for tuk tuk’s there doesn’t seem to be a maximum.
-----
We wanted to know how many people could fit in a Tuk Tuk, so we asked our guides to help us out.
This video is part of a web series about Bangkok and in this series we show you how to get around in Bangkok, Thailand.

Looking for an authentic and unique adventure? Co van Kessel bike tours and boat tours provides a refreshing alternative to the tired tourist experience. We do not battle the crowds at clichéd destinations promoted in guide books, but turn your attention to quaint local communities and charming excursions into the fascinating lifestyle and culture of real Thai people. Every day is different and every tour is a surprise as we focus not on destinations, but lose ourselves in the enchantment of the journey itself.
Co van Kessel, an innovative and adventurous Dutchman, pioneered bicycle tours in Bangkok more than 30 years ago. As a longtime resident and self-professed lover of Bangkok, he understood very well the picture of accelerated urban development (gridlocked traffic, concrete towers, and choking pollution) that has plagued the recent image of the city. He also had a hunch that this was not what Bangkok or Thailand was all about.
Making it his goal to re-discover Bangkok, Co spent thousands of hours on his mountain bike exploring the vast network of local streets, alleyways, footpaths and canals between the main urban thoroughfares. What he found, lurking behind the facade of modernization, were hidden worlds of peace and tranquility, a picture of “real” Thai life that has remained unchanged for countless decades; an identity of a city that is true to the Thai people, yet largely unknown to outsiders.
Whether it’s the colorful sights and smells of the local markets, the fascinating life of locals along the canals, or the surprising existence of bountiful green belts, Co discovered the essence of what makes Bangkok one of Asia’s most captivating cities. Since then, it has been his mission to share these discoveries with the rest of the world.
What we do
Our mission at Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours is to provide our guests with a singularly unique travel experience in Thailand. All our tours use Co’s extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will.
We aim not to bore you with talk, but to immerse you in an experience where your individual fascinations emerge.
Bicycles, boats, and our feet become the tools we use to gain access to the previously inaccessible, behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the Thai. Here the roots of an ancient culture will become evident in a way you never could have imagined.

Fastest Tuk Tuk Ride in Bangkok,Thailand
The name 'tuk tuk' comes from the spluttering sound of those early engines. Tuk tuks have become one of Bangkok's most recognizable transportation features and are still popular among tourists and visitors. Riding a tuk tuk is more of an experience than a practical way to get around.
People Say Don’t Take a Tuk Tuk Because….
They can over charge customers and don’t use a meter.
Some try to take passengers to gem shops or one of girly fish bowl venues where you pay for a ladies drinks and possibly some romantic time with her. They offer to take them for a small amount of money then get commission from the gem shop or establishment.
Usually more expensive than taxis.
You’re breathing in a hell of a lot of fumes.
I am one of those that avoids taking a tuk tuk in Thailand when possible. This is because of the over charging, breathing in fumes etc. And, I’ve experienced that here and in India many times.
When I first visited Bangkok it was a must do kind of thing and it was great, driver spoke English quite good and it was a laugh.
When out with friends in Bangkok for a night out, we will also use a tuk tuk for convenience, and we’re out for fun so it makes sense if one is available.
In Bangkok if we head to a club we can get a taxi or tuk tuk free. This is because many of the clubs pay the driver commission. It’s up to you if you want to negotiate this, or see the driver has an extra boost in pay that night (I prefer they get the extra as they are not earning a lot of money). You will have to speak and negotiate before getting to the club to prevent having a problem with you’re driver.

Dwight crashes the La Monita street food tour for some of South East Asia's top chefs who were in town for Asia's 50 Best Restaurants. The group was also made up of F&B professionals and food writers/bloggers. The tour was about 5-6 hours in total, so we covered a lot of ground very quickly. I hope this inspires you to get out of the hotel and popular areas and get eating in old town Bangkok!
Street Food Stops Part 1:
1: Charcoal Grilled Squid Pad Thai (Jid Tao Than - จิตเตาถ่าน)
2: Thai Tea (Nid Kafae Nom Sod -
3. Chinese Dumplings, Peppery Crispy Pork with Handmade Noodles, and Braised Goat Deliciousness (Kanom Jin Hailam Golun -
4. Sister Ni's Glazed Taro (Puak Hima -
5. Coconut Milk Dessert with Sticky Rice Balls (Bouy Loy Kade Kaew -
6. Mango & Sticky Rice (Kor Panit - ก.
7. Thai Grilled Chicken - (Kai Yang Boran -
Before you guys ask, no single item on the first part of the tour was over 100 baht, except for the braised goat at stop #3. That bowl was 150 baht (it was very unique and intended to share, but I think I need my own bowl next time).
Special thanks to Billy, Oh and the whole La Monita/El Osito team!

LOST IN BANGKOK! (TUKTUK SCAM EXPOSED)
MINSAN SA KAGUSTUHAN NATIN MAKATIPID, MAS LALO PA TAYO NAPAPAGASTOS
EXAMPLE NALANG ANG APAT NA BIBE NA NABIKTIMA
=D
NASAYANG ORAS/MAS NAPALAYO PA SA DAPAT PUPUNTAHAN/MAS NAPAGASTOS
Reminders sa mga pupupunta ng Thailand
Way lang yun ng tuktuk or cab drivers para pag sumama kayo sa kanila may commision sila pag yung package nila kinuha mo which is times 3 or more sa original price
2. Bangkok boat ride Scam
Outside Bangkok ang magandang floating market dahil napakaraming boats and souvenir shops kang malilibot
example: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market Boat Ride
3. Don't buy souvenirs in Floating Market
From Tuktuk driver-Foreigner-Gem store magkakasabwat sila at planado ang set up.
Salamat!

Bangkok Tuk Tuk ride - Fast public transport in Bangkok - Bangkok tourist attractions
Watch all our THAILAND TRAVEL VIDEOS, Link in comments section below. No visit to Bangkok can possibly be complete without at least one ride in a Tuk Tuk taxi. This video shows a short clip of our ride from Saphan Taksin Station (this is where you can catch a BTS Skytrain or one of the Chao Phraya River taxis) to Bangkok's Central Park Lumphini Park.
The Tuk Tuk is definitely one of Bangkok's most unique forms of public transport. Be sure to agree / bargain on / haggle a price before the journey starts. I have heard that a trip in the inner Bangkok City should not cost more than 150 Baht. Video is filmed with Canon Powershot SX210 IS Camera.
Wiki writes about Bangkok, Bangkok is the capital and the most populous city of Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (กรุงเทพมหานคร, pronounced [krūŋ tʰêːp mahǎː nákʰɔ̄ːn] ( listen)) or simply About this sound Krung Thep (help·info). The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over 8 million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over 14 million people (22.2 percent) live within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region, making Bangkok an extreme primate city, dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance...
