CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - In this video I’m going to show you a mix of restaurants and street food in Chiang Mai - and everything a little rare, unique, or unheard of. We ate a one of a kind satay in Chiang mai for breakfast, had rare Thai food for lunch, and amazing seafood for dinner - but seafood in Chiang Mai? I’m going to share all the restaurants with you here.
Beef satay (เนื้อสะเต๊ะใต้ต้นข่อย) - For breakfast we went to a small street food stall serving a unique type of beef satay (เนื้อสะเต๊ะ). It was cool to sit down right where they were being grilled and eat stick after stick. The beef was so juicy, but the sauce was a little sweet for me.
Price - 5 THB ($0.15) per stick
Saiyut's Kitchen (ครัวอาจารย์สายหยุด) - This is a top restaurant in Chiang Mai that serves a mix of high end, Royal, and old family Thai recipes. Here are the main dishes we ordered:
Saeng wa goong (แสร้งว่ากุ้ง)
Nam prik kai boo (นำ้พริกไข่ปู)
Chaw muang (ช่อม่วง)
Kratong tong (กระทงทอง)
Karawaek sodsee (การะเวกสอดสี)
Room (หรุ่ม)
Chiang da pad kai (เชียงดาผัดไข่)
Khao yam (ข้าวยำ)
Pla tod samoon prai (ปลาทอดสมุนไพร)
Gaeng ranjuan (แกงรัญจวน)
Mee krob Chaowang (หมี่กรอบชาววัง)
The food was overall quite good. It’s not always my personal favorite type of Thai food, but I did enjoy the food here, and the presentation and history. Food is more on the sweet side than spicy side. Well worth trying when you’re in Chiang Mai.
Total price - 1,725 THB ($52.31)
Lerd Rote Tai Rom Ma-Feuang (เลิศรสใต้ร่มมะเฟือง) - Finally on this best restaurants tour of Chiang Mai we decided to go to a restaurant that many locals from Chiang Mai recommend for seafood. Yes, I was a little hesitant to eat seafood in Chiang Mai, considering its distance from the ocean, be we went for it. Turned out to be quite an amazing seafood meal, although expensive, it was delicious.
Shrimp chilies salt (กุ้งพริกเกลือ)
Tom yum fish (ต้มยำปลา นำ้ใส)
Black pepper crab (ปูผัดพริกไทยดำ)
Total price - 2,000 THB ($60.65)

Bali vs. Chiang Mai Thailand for Digital Nomads | A BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW
Bali vs. Chiang Mai for digital nomads: which one is the best? In this video, I break down whether Bali, Indonesia or Chiang Mai, Thailand lends itself the best to working online and building a business.
This video is not about which place I like the most or which one is more suitable for a holiday. This video is strictly about which place lends itself better to becoming a digital nomad if motivation wasn't an issue and you didn't need any form of gratification.
That being said, many people may feel more motivated and energized in either Bali or Chiang Mai. There's a lot of people who love Bali vibes that could never work in Chiang Mai and the other way around.

MUST DO IN CHIANG MAI - Authentic Northern Thailand Hill Tribe
A must do in Chiang Mai is this 100% authentic Northern Thailand Hill Tribe tour. Unlike other things to do in Chiang Mai, this is well off the tourist radar. Watch us explore native Thai villages, cook, and eat exotic Thai food with the locals of Northern Thailand.
Many tour companies in Chiang Mai offer a “hill tribe tour”, only to take you to a contrived Thai village that only exists to serve tourists. What Thailand Hilltribe Holidays does, is offer you a 100% authentic Northern Thailand Hill Tribe tour without any other tourists with you. We were taken to two villages: the Karen Hill Tribe and Hmong Hill Tribe.
* Book this tour with Thailand Hilltribe Holidays:
First was the Karen Hill Tribe in Northern Thailand where we were able to meet a village family and cook with them. Being able to cook with a hill tribe family was one of the most unique experiences in Thailand we have had in all 4 months here! The main dishes were sticky rice cooked inside of bamboo and a mix of curries, however we were able to try some exotic Thai food when they served frog soup! Watch and see how Ryan got tricked into eating this… haha!
The next stop on our Hill Tribe Village tour was the Hmong Hill Tribe village, also located in Northern Thailand inside of Doi Suthep National Park. The Hmong village was more advanced than the Karen, and quite resembled a traditional Thai village you might have seen a decade ago. Since so many people travel Thailand each year, it’s becoming more difficult to find the “local Thailand” visitors crave to see. We can guarantee you by taking this tour, you will have a one of a kind, unforgettable experience.
* Want to learn more about this authentic Thailand Hill Tribe tour? Read our blog here:
If you’re wondering what to do in Chiang Mai but don’t want to hit up the popular tourist spots, then this authentic Northern Thailand Hill Tribe tour is for you. It took us a lot of research to find this experience, since it’s not on any of the Chiang Mai to do lists you find online. We hope by watching this video you were able to get an inside look into life for a local Thailand hill tribe and are inspired to take a hill tribe tour yourself!
If you have any questions about this must do in Chiang Mai, how to travel Thailand, or the best things to do in Chiang Mai, feel free to leave a comment down below. We also have a huge list of Thailand travel vlogs you can watch to help plan your trip to Northern Thailand, Bangkok, Krabi, Phuket, or Chiang Mai.
* We’re Ryan & Stacia from DeathbyVlog. Unlike other travel vloggers, we live and work in a different country each month with a moderate housing budget. Sorry, but no backpacker lifestyle here! Our channel will show you what it’s like to live abroad while exploring top tourist destinations and hidden gems. We will show you mouthwatering local food tours, provide history on each destination, and cinematic broll for all of you film lovers. Each month we rent an apartment or airbnb in a different city or country, so follow along on this journey and learn about countries around the world. Four months in Southeast Asia - Bali, Indonesia - Chiang Mai, Thailand - Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
In October 2016 we headed over to Bali, Indonesia to start our first tour of Southeast Asia. For a month we stayed along the coast of Bali in a small surf town called Canggu. Then, we headed further inland and stayed in the famous Eat, Pray, Love town, Ubud. After two months in Indonesia, we flew over to Thailand to spend a month in Nimman, Chiang Mai. Then, we ended our trip in Vietnam - celebrating the Lunar New Year on our last day there.

TEMPLES IN CHIANG MAI - Why Women Can't Enter
There are almost 300 temples in Chiang Mai, Thailand. However, we share the Thai history behind why women can’t enter some of them. Watch to see our picks for the Top 3 temples in Chiang Mai, and which ones you can’t enter if you are a woman.
If you are coming to travel Thailand on holiday, it’s likely you won’t have nearly enough time to visit all 300 temples in Chiang Mai Thailand. So, we are sharing the 3 best temples in Chiang Mai you should visit to get the biggest diversity in styles and cultures.
The first temple we visited was the Silver Temple Chiang Mai. This temple was easily the most unique temple we have ever seen and it sat beside a silversmith village. The entire temple was plated in silver and metal in 2008 as a tribute to the heavy influence silver had on northern Thai history. So, you’re wondering which temples women can’t enter? The Silver temple is one of them. We love sharing facts about Thailand when we come across them, and this was a piece of Thailand information we could not pass up. As we arrived at the silver temple, sure enough we were greeted with a big “Women can’t enter silver temple” sign. The history behind this Thai rule stems from an old Buddhist rule that states the presence of a woman can disrupt relics and energy that are found throughout the temples. If a women does enter one of the temples in Thailand that is marked as forbidden, it is said they will experience bodily harm.
The next temple is called Wat Chedi Luang and it’s one of the most popular places to visit in Chiang Mai due to it’s central proximity in the Old City. Wat Chedi Luang is a standing piece of Thai history, as it survived an earthquake in the early 1500’s which demolished the top half of the pagoda. One of the more interesting facts about Thailand originated here with a tree planted centuries ago right next to Wat Chedi Luang. It is said that the tree is the protector of the region and if it falls, a big catastrophe will take place.
One of the last, and arguably most magnificent, temples in Chiang Mai we visited was Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. This temple is on everyones list of the top things to do in Chiang Mai. The Doi Suthep Temple is one of the holiest buddhist temples in all of the world, as it is said to hold the shoulder bone of Buddha himself. This makes Wat Phra That Doi Suthep a popular buddhist pilgrimage site and also one of the most culturally rich places to see while you travel Thailand.
If you guys enjoyed seeing our Top 3 list of the best temples in Chiang Mai, give this video a thumbs up! Which temples are you planning on visiting? Are you upset by the Buddhist rule that women can’t enter some temples? We are living in Chiang Mai Thailand for 2 months, so be sure to stick around and see more Thailand travel vlogs. If you want to learn more facts about Thailand, go see our Thailand travel vlogs in Bangkok and Southern Thailand. Also, don’t forget to leave us a comment down below, subscribe, and tell us which temple was your favorite! We will see you guys in the next video. Seeya!

From Ubud, Bali to Chiang Mai, Thailand | Weekly Travel Update
Hello my dear beautiful friends! It's Sunday!! And that means it's time for my weekly Travel Update. I'm uploading this video from Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand! Yep, you heard it right. We left Indonesia after two full months of exploring Lombok and Bali and living on Gili Air.

Our trip to Chiang Mai took long and I needed a day to adjust, but then dived into a new creative project with excitement (sometimes you get the best ideas when resting in bed ;) ). We explored the outskirts of Chiang Mai a bit and took you guys with us! Enjoy this video and please don't forget to leave a like and subscribe :)

Chiang Mai Nightlife - A Night Out In Chiang Mai + Tham Lod Cave Pai Thailand
Chiang Mai nighlife scene is a vibrant party like atmosphere with clubs and bars open all over the city, there isn't much that you can't find in Chiang Mai.
Tonight we took a trip to an area of town known as Loh Kroi road, also known as the boxing area. The street are lined with beer bars and towards the end of the bars complex they also hosts live Muay Thai kickboxing fights.
Earlier that day we visited Tham Lod cave in Pai known for its awesome caverns, 1,700 years old coffins and bamboo rafting.
Tham Lot is a cave system near Sop Pong in Pang Mapha District, Mae Hong Son Province, northern Thailand. The Nam Lang River flows through the cave which is filled with stalactites and stalagmites.
