A Walk Around Barnsdall Art Park, Los Angeles
Barnsdall Art Park is a city park located in the East Hollywood district of Los Angeles, California. Parking and arts buildings access is from Hollywood Boulevard on the park's north side. The park is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, and a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
The mission of the arts center is to present, promote, enrich, and develop the arts and artists of the Los Angeles region, inclusive of the city's notable cultural diversity. This continues the intentions of Aline Barnsdall, who donated Barnsdall Park to the City of Los Angeles for arts and recreational purposes, including the preservation of the historic architecture and landscape features. Located at the crest of Olive Hill, Barnsdall Art Park overlooks the city of Los Angeles, and the Hollywood Hills, including Griffith Park. The park is centered on the Barnsdall's Hollyhock House designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, a National Historic Landmark, Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, and on the National Register of Historic Places in Los Angeles.

A Walk Around Angels Point, Elysian Park, Los Angeles
Hands down the best view of downtown Los Angeles to be found is from Angels Point in Elysian Park. While there are other commanding views of DTLA, such as from the observation deck at City Hall, from Elysian Park you have a view that sweeps most of the city and offers a birds eye view of Dodger Stadium. The downtown LA view is particularly beautiful here too due to looking across the sweeping green valley leading up to it. The video above shows you some of what you can expect.
For the view at Angel’s Point, you can enter Elysian Park by heading north on Solono from N. Broadway. Turn right at Academy Gate, then left on Angel’s Point Road. Then simply follow it until you see the sign. The road widens there to allow parking. It is just a short walk down a trail to a large public artwork by artist Peter Shire and it is from there the views are to be had. A better view of Dodger Stadium can be seen by following one of the trails that will be apparent to you when you arrive. You can also take a good book and sit in one of the benches under the sculpture for a good outdoor read.
As you follow the road up you’ll be amazed at just how much Elysian Park has to offer. There are picnic areas galore, playgrounds, restrooms, gardens and other art installations.
The park is the oldest park in Los Angeles, dating back to 1886, and also the second largest. In 1964 citizens banded together to prevent the City of Los Angeles from constructing the Municipal Convention Center on 62 acres of park land. Once you see the park and the views, you’ll b glad they did.
Elysian Park is bounded by Lincoln Heights on the southeast, on the northeast by Elysian Valley, on the south by Chinatown an on the west by Echo Park. The 110 Freeway also runs under the park at the Figueroa Street Tunnels.
MoCA (Museum Of Contemporary Art), Los Angeles
The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) is a contemporary art museum with three locations in greater Los Angeles, California. The main branch is located on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles, near Walt Disney Concert Hall. MOCA's original space, initially intended as a temporary exhibit space while the main facility was built, is now known as the Geffen Contemporary, in the Little Tokyo district of downtown Los Angeles. The Pacific Design Center facility is in West Hollywood.
The museum's exhibits consist primarily of American and European contemporary art created after 1940. Since the museum's inception, MOCA's programming has been defined by its multi-discipliner.
The MOCA downtown Los Angeles location is home to almost 5,000 artworks created since 1940, including masterpieces by classic contemporary artists, and inspiring new works by emerging and mid-career artists from Southern California and around the world. The MOCA is the only museum in Los Angeles devoted exclusively to contemporary art.
In 1986, the celebrated Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, who had never worked on a project in the United States before, completed the downtown location's sandstone building to international critical and public acclaim, marking a dramatic achievement in the contemporary art world and heralding a new cultural era in Los Angeles. Its chief exhibition spaces are under the courtyard level, lit from above by groups of pyramidal skylights.

Los Angeles Union Station (LAUS) is the main railway station in Los Angeles, California, and the largest railroad passenger terminal in the Western United States. Union Station is located on the original site of the Tongva village of Yaanga, which was believed to have been the largest of the Tongva villages. It opened in May 1939 as the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, replacing La Grande Station and Central Station, and celebrated its 80th birthday in 2019.
Approved in a controversial ballot measure in 1926 and built in the 1930s, it served to consolidate rail services from the Union Pacific, Santa Fe, and Southern Pacific Railroads into one terminal station. Conceived on a grand scale, Union Station became known as the Last of the Great Railway Stations built in the United States. The structure combines Art Deco, Mission Revival, and Streamline Moderne style. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
Today, the station is a major transportation hub for Southern California, serving almost 110,000 passengers a day. It is Amtrak's fifth-busiest station, and by far the busiest in the Western United States and the tenth-busiest in the entire country. Four of Amtrak's long-distance trains originate and terminate here: the Coast Starlight to Seattle, the Southwest Chief and Texas Eagle to Chicago, and the Sunset Limited to New Orleans. The state-supported Amtrak California Pacific Surfliner regional trains run frequently to San Diego and also to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. The station is the hub of the Metrolink commuter trains, and several Metro Rail subway and light rail lines serve it as well, with more in construction or planning.
The Patsaouras Transit Plaza, on the east side of the station, serves dozens of bus lines operated by Metro and several other municipal carriers.

Walking Tour of Echo Park, Los Angeles [4K]
Echo Park is flanked by Elysian Valley to the north and northeast, Elysian Park to the east, Chinatown and Downtown to the southeast, Westlake to the southwest and west, and Silver Lake to the northwest.
The Eastside’s historic Echo Park Lake has finally become a family-friendly destination worthy of its bold backdrop: the Downtown skyline amid the lotus flower blooms and fountains. The lake has been around since 1860—it was once used as a drinking water reservoir, and later as a recreational park with canoes and fishing. Today, you can push your way through the lake in a pedal boat (including a swan boat) or stroll around the path that hugs its borders. The new Swan Boats at Echo Park Lake are one of Los Angeles’ hidden gems. Rated one of the best LA activities, Echo Park pedal boats are a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
