Places to see in ( Barcelona - Spain ) Barri de Gracia
Places to see in ( Barcelona - Spain ) Barri de Gracia
Gràcia is a low-key district of narrow streets and cozy squares dotted with organic grocers, hip co-working spaces and artist studios. Indie shops line Carrer d’Astúries and Carrer de Verdi, and the Plaça del Sol's outdoor cafes come to life at night. Gaudí landmarks include Casa Vicens, a home clad in a patchwork of colorful tiles, and Park Gϋell, featuring fantastical sculptures and city views.
Barri de Gracia, located north of the intersection of the exclusive Passeig de Gracia and Avinguda Diagonal, is the most traditional of the neighborhoods in downtown Barcelona. Independent from the Catalonian capital until almost the early 20th century, Gracia still has a strong village feeling to it, with many traditional workshops and low-rise buildings, and a unique character. It is also one of the most charming areas, with narrow cobblestone streets and alleys, and tree-shaded squares packed with cafes and restaurants. One of these is the Placa del Sol, one of the prettiest pedestrian squares in Gracia, lined with bars that offer al fresco dining and drinking year-round.
Despite its traditional vibe, Gracia is full of young people, and the annual local fiestas, celebrated in mid-August, attract hordes of locals and tourists alike. It is arguably one of the liveliest neighborhoods in Barcelona, second only to possibly the Gothic Quarter. There are no historic sights to visit here -- but its streets are full of local charm and are great to just wander around.
( Barcelona - Spain ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Barcelona . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Barcelona - Spain

The Gothic Quarter:
The Gothic Quarter or El Gòtic, Spanish: Barrio Gótico) is the centre of the old city of Barcelona. It stretches from La Rambla to Via Laietana, and from the Mediterranean seafront to the Ronda de Sant Pere. It is a part of Ciutat Vella district. The quarter encompasses the oldest parts of the city of Barcelona, and includes the remains of the city's Roman wall and several notable medieval landmarks. Much of the present-day fabric of the quarter, however, dates to the 19th and early 20th centuries. El Call, the medieval Jewish quarter, is located within this area, along with the former Sinagoga Major.
The Barri Gòtic retains a labyrinthine street plan, with many small streets opening out into squares. Most of the quarter is closed to regular traffic although open to service vehicles and taxis.
Despite its name, a number of landmark Gothic buildings in the neighborhood do not date to the Middle Ages. Rather, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the quarter was completely transformed from a sombre neighborhood to a tourist attraction through a massive restoration project, timed to be completed for the 1929 International Exhibition. This allowed the city and the surrounding region of Catalonia to portray itself in a positive light to the world's media. Further restoration of existing buildings and the creation of brand new neo-Gothic structures continued as late as the 1960s.

Top Popular Street in Barcelona Gràcia Festival 2015
Each year in August the streets of Barcelona's Gràcia district come alive with a week-long fiesta that sees the barrio transformed. The concept of Gràcia festival is that streets in the neighbourhood compete to win the prize of being the best decorated street. I used the GoPro to record the most sweet smile and top popular street in my opinion. ENJOY LIFE, ENJOY FESTA!!
