Lord Bathurst launches 'The Cotswolds Store' in Bathurst, NSW Australia
In October 2019 the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre launched The Cotswolds Store, an initiative between the cities of Cirencester in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire UK and Bathurst NSW Australia which are joined through a formal friendship agreement. Here Lord Bathurst discusses the significance of the collaboration and the ties between the cities.

TRIP TO BATHURST NSW AUSTRALIA
Bathurst is a country town in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. It is about 200 kilometres (120 mi) west-northwest of Sydney and is the seat of the Bathurst Regional Council. Bathurst is the oldest inland settlement in Australia.
In the centre of the city is a square known as Kings Parade. Originally a market area from 1849 to 1906. it was redesignated as a public recreation ground and site for a soldiers memorial. Kings Parade now contains three memorials, an open space park and gardens.
Bathurst has retained a mix of main street shopping along with enclosed shopping centres within the CBD, unlike other towns where the CBD focus has split between main street and new shopping centre developments located in the suburbs. Within the CBD lies Kings Parade; this is a park setting with several memorials of people and events in history. It is a popular location for locals to meet. Keppel Street is Bathurst's second commercial shopping area, removed from the CBD by two blocks to the south. This area developed once the railway arrived in 1876.

153. Berry Park Rest Area, Bathurst NSW
Our stay in Bathurst was fantastic and this terrific 72 hour Free camp made it easy to relax and enjoy everything Bathurst had to offer.
Berry Park Rest area is close to the Town Centre, Information Centre and Showgrounds.
There is a river very close by offering some fishing also.
There is so much room and you can find a good grassed level spot fairly easily.
There are toilets, bins and water. Water is also available at the Info Centre nearby.
A dump point is located at the neighbouring Showgrounds.
The Rest area is pet friendly.
We had excellent Telstra, Vodafone and Optus coverage.
The cost to stay is Free
Our stay was 19th - 22cnd October 2017 (we did stay an extra night due to losing a day and a half to wet weather and there was lots to see and do in town)
