USS Independence CV-62 final voyage to scrapyard in Brownsville Texas
On March 11, 2017, the ex-USS INDEPENDENCE left the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Wash., under tow heading for the scrapyard in Brownsville, Tx. The tow took her around South America and was expected to take about two months until the carrier reached International Shipbreaking's facility. During her lay-up in Bremerton, she was extensively used as a parts hulk for the Navy's other aircraft carriers, leading to the decision to scrap her instead of offering her as a museum ship. The INDEPENDENCE is the last of the four FORRESTAL-class aircraft carriers to be scrapped. Her three sisterships have already been or are currently being dismantled in Brownsville.

USS Olympia Pre-Dreadnought Walk-through 4K
USS Olympia (C-6/CA-15/CL-15/IX-40) is a protected cruiser that saw service in the United States Navy from her commissioning in 1895 until 1922. This vessel became famous as the flagship of Commodore George Dewey at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish–American War in 1898. The ship was decommissioned after returning to the U.S. in 1899, but was returned to active service in 1902.

The Texas City Dike is a levee located in Texas City, Texas, United States that projects nearly 5 miles (8.0 km) south-east into the mouth of Galveston Bay. It is flanked by the north-eastern tip of Galveston Island and the south-western tip of the Bolivar Peninsula. The dike, one of the area's most beloved and enduring landmarks, was originally designed to reduce the impact of sediment accumulation along the lower Bay.
The Bay itself connects the Houston Ship Channel, one of the nation's most important commercial waterways, and the Port of Houston with the Gulf of Mexico some 35 nautical miles (65 km) distant.
SeaRail 19 - 2012 BOTY Competition
The SeaRail 19 being sailed during the 2012 Sailing World Boat of the Year competition. The location is Annapolis, MD on Oct 9, just after the United States Sailboat Show. On board are one of the Sailing World judges (grey top, helming) and Bob Gleason of The Multihull Source (red top, trimming sheets).
The SeaRail 19 was designed by Nigel Irens and built by Phil Medley (who was the production manager for Corsair Marine for 20 yrs and oversaw the transition to their Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam production facility).

A new $700 million naval warship called the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) left for Singapore last month, but experts believe the fact the speedy war machine that can navigate shallow draft is poorly armored, making it inefficient.
Development of 52 units of the LCS comes at a heft price tag of $37 billion and despite the original concept does not have heavy guns or good armor, meaning that it will require other vessels to protect it in battle.
The vessel is complete with a large flight deck and hangar area, able to maneuver and outpace most warships. It is also equipped with the AGM-176 Griffin, a missile able to reach targets 3 nautical miles away, falling way short of the original plans, which call for heavy offensive weapons that could sink ships 21 nautical miles.
Even so, naval experts have said that a direct hit to the new ship would likely be fatal.
Coast Guard medevacs injured sailboat racer near Matagorda Bay
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced an 82-year-old man from a sailing vessel approximately 17 miles south of Matagorda Bay, Friday.
Watchstanders at Sector Corpus Christi received a report at approximately 9 a.m., that an 82-year-old man aboard the Cache, a 50-foot sailing vessel, suffered a head injury and required immediate medical assistance.

This picture of the pride of the United States Navy was made on the occasion of the Peace Jubilee in New York City, and was taken from a tug passing the warship on its way up the North River (Hudson). The entire crew are on deck, and a beautiful view of this wonderful craft is afforded.
