Second half of my stay in St. Petersburg revolved mostly around my splurge stay in a beautiful boutique hotel near Nevsky Prospekt. It was truly money well spent as the stay made me very happy. Treat yo self, guys!
Visited Peterhof, Peter the Great's summer palace and was stunned by the beauty of the Grand Cascade. Also squeezed in a visit to Winter Palace to view the collection of art.

SAINT PETERSBURG - THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY OF RUSSIA
Hello Guys,
Click here to support my channel:
In this video, I have shared my experiences of St. Petersburg and I must say this was the most fantastic city which I have ever seen in my whole life. St. Petersburg is an amazing city, I have spent around two nights and one day.
Saint Petersburg (Russian: Санкт-Петерб́ург Sankt-Peterburg;) is a world-class destination and Russia's second largest city, with a population of more than 5 million perched at the eastern tip of-of the Baltic Sea and the Neva River.
The city was formerly known as Petrograd (Петрогр́ад), and later Leningrad (Ленингр́ад).
Founded by Peter the Great in 1703, in the territory of the Inkeri town of Nien which was a capital of Finno-Ugric province Ingermanland which was part of Novgorod Republic, and Sweden. The first settlements in this region date from 2500 years ago. Archaeologists found old graves full of short silver treasures. Also, Korea-inkeri epos of Kalevala half was written near Sester river, modern Sestroretsk. In this time the lifestyle of aborigines was very different it was forest people who lived in tunnels underground, famous for hunting, mushroom medicine, and making steel. It was the place of joining three finna Ugric subethnosos Suomi Inkeri and Karela, St Petersburg the former home of the tsars and the center of imperial Russian culture, Saint Petersburg was known as The Venice of the North in its heyday. Re-christened Petrograd during the first World War, the city was renamed Leningrad in 1924 in honor of communist revolutionary and founder of the Soviet Union, Vladimir I. Lenin. Bombed, besieged and starved during World War II, the city took a back seat to Moscow during the Soviet-era.
Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the city has rapidly been making up for lost time and is by far the most cosmopolitan and Western of Russia's cities. Renamed once more in the aftermath of the fall of the Soviet Union, most Russians know it as Piter (Питер), a familiar diminutive of Saint Petersburg.
During the hardship years of Yeltsin's presidency, much of the city was controlled by the infamous Tambov gang, but have since reduced in influence. With world-class architecture, astonishing views and friendly people, there's lots to do here.

White nights in Saint Petersburg. Timelapse & Hyperlapse.

St. Petersburg is a mecca of cultural, historical, and architectural landmarks. Founded by Tsar Peter I (the Great) as Russia’s “window on Europe,” it bears the unofficial status of Russia’s cultural capital and most European city, a distinction that it strives to retain in its perennial competition with Moscow. Three distinctive characteristics of St. Petersburg engage attention. The first is the city’s harmonious mix of western European and Russian architecture. Second is St. Petersburg’s lack of an unequivocal city centre, which, in other Russian cities of medieval origin, is defined by a kremlin and its surrounding area. The third characteristic feature of the city is its many waterways. The short but full-flowing tributaries and canals of the Neva River that stretch to the Baltic coast are inseparable from St. Petersburg’s panorama. Many of the city’s most famed architectural sites stretch along the Neva’s historic embankments. Moreover, the bridges and natural canals of the river have earned St. Petersburg the nickname “Venice of the North.” Because of St. Petersburg’s northerly location, the city enjoys the “White Nights,” from June 11 to July 2, when daylight extends to nearly 19 hours—another of St. Petersburg’s most acclaimed characteristics. Among the cultural events devoted to celebrating the White Nights are the festivals organized by the Mariinsky and Hermitage theatres and the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Each night during the White Nights, the bridges spanning the Neva are raised to let boat traffic through.

St. Petersburg Travel Guide | Most Beautiful City | St Petersburg Vlog | raprap_wafu
Saint Petersburg is a Russian City, located in the northwestern part of European Russia. It is Russia's second-largest city after Moscow. Saint Petersburg is often considered Russia's cultural capital. Saint Petersburg is home to the Hermitage, one of the largest art museums in the world, as well as Catherine Palace, which was the summer residence of the Russian tsars.
And to be honest guys, this is my favorite city, in whole Russia. This city has a lot to offer, with the best people in downtown, to best restaurants and shopping too! Very european and a touch of american culture. So yeah, hope you find this video, entertaining and informative for those of you, who's planning to go to Saint Petersburg.

Night in Russia - Beauty of St. Petersburg
Saint Petersburg (Russian: Санкт-Петербу́рг, tr. Sankt-Peterburg; IPA: [ˈsankt pʲɪtʲɪrˈburk] (About this sound listen)) is Russia's second-largest city after Moscow, with five million inhabitants in 2012, and an important Russian port on the Baltic Sea. It is politically incorporated as a federal subject (a federal city). Situated on the Neva River, at the head of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea, it was founded by Tsar Peter the Great on May 27 [O.S. 16] 1703. In 1914, the name was changed from Saint Petersburg to Petrograd (Russian: Петрогра́д; IPA: [pʲɪtrɐˈgrat]), in 1924 to Leningrad and in 1991 back to Saint Petersburg. Between 1713 and 1728 and in 1732–1918, Saint Petersburg was the capital of imperial Russia. In 1918, the central government bodies moved to Moscow.
Saint Petersburg is one of the modern cities of Russia, as well as its cultural capital. The Historic Centre of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments constitute a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Saint Petersburg is home to The Hermitage, one of the largest art museums in the world. Many foreign consulates, international corporations, banks, and businesses have offices in Saint Petersburg.
Saint Petersburg, Russia | The most beautiful city in the world | Vlog 6 | Indian backpackers |
This is 6th Vlog of our very first international trip to Russia.
We, Dhananjay Dixit and Vishal Dixit are brothers and we decided to go experience Russian winters.
In this Vlog we walked to our hostel from St Petersburg railway station. While walking we saw the incredible beauty of the city of Saint Petersburg.
In this Vlog we have shown how difficult it is to find an address in Russia, and when we did find our hostel, it ran out of business a month earlier so we looked into Booking.com for nearby hostels.

Unknown Russia - Breathtaking St. Petersburg
This series delves deep into this more than thousand-year-old cultural history in Europe’s East. For the very first time, sensational footage, shot by the world’s best cameramen, presents a bird’s-eye view of the most important and most beautiful buildings of Old Russia.
The camera explores en detail art and ornamentation, mounted on high on these splendid structures centuries ago to the glory of God, far above the line of vision of humans. Authors familiar with Russian culture find the material for their stories beneath the roofs and golden onion-shaped towers, which tell of old traditions, passions and visions. Russian and Ukrainian protagonists fill the stories, which encompass this unique culture
and architecture, time and again with their warmth, their love and a good portion of humor. They proudly present the old Russian legacy that during the World War and in the old Soviet Union days, constantly threatened to disappear.

In mid-January, Peter finally fell asleep with snow, and we were able to show the most beautiful Northern city in the world, wrapped in snow, from the air, in ultra-high resolution 6K. For filming, we used a new Ambassador camera Zenmuse X7 together with a new line of lenses DL, which a month ago we sent DJI for our further creativity. Since youtube does not support 6K resolution, we have increased the image to 8K, in order to unlock the full potential of the image.
