The Freezing of Beaver Island Harbor
This is a short time-lapse movie (41 seconds) of the freezing of the harbor on Beaver Island Michigan from the 14th of January 2007 until the 28th.

Take a peek inside the Grand Haven south pier lighthouse
Ever wondered what's inside the Grand Haven lighthouse? The Grand Haven Tribune joined city leaders on Nov. 2, 2018 for a tour inside the entrance light building at the end of the south pier, which used to house the fog horn. New windows were among the first steps toward future plans for the lighthouse, including a museum that would first the first time open the lighthouse to the public.
WWTV/WWUP- Preserving History: Saving the Squaw Island Lighthouse
Preserving History: Saving The Lighthouse On Squaw Island
A historic lighthouse was in trouble on a small island in northern Lake Michigan. The owners of Squaw Island stepped up to save it. But this is no ordinary project. See how a dedicated construction crew overcame isolation, lack of power, and poison ivy to stop the decay of the lighthouse. Along the way, they also learned a little about themselves.
Lighthouse storm
Lake Michigan Storm - Grand Haven Lighthouse
On 11/19 there was a Major Storm on Lake Michigan - 30mph Winds, 10ft waves.
I took 22 photos with a 5D Mark IV (6fps), imported them into Adobe Premiere, then used Twixtor to stretch that into 27 seconds.
Twixtor is an amazing plugin that can take normal video, stretch it out, by creating the new frames.
Grand Haven Lighthouse Waves and Wind
The strong wind made for some turbulent wave action down at the Grand Haven Pier and Lighthouse. The wind was cold, but I was able to get some good footage from the beach.

Sandy Point Lighthouse During Storm
Cathead Point
Cathead Point is a 91± acre family retreat perched on the tip of Lake Michigan's renowned Leelanau Peninsula. It represents a vestige of a bygone era when gracious private estates dominated the shoreline.
A favorite four season getaway of former U.S. Ambassador, Alfred Hoffman, Jr.'s family, Cathead Point controls nearly 100 acres and 3,165 feet of pristine Lake Michigan shoreline.
The Hoffman family's legacy is their conservation of 84± acres, and the preservation of the antique cabin set on the farthest edge of the property where dunes, beach and water dramatically converge. The family's conscientious land stewardship has encouraged rich bio-diversity and a healthy ecosystem.
Cathead Point is one of the most extraordinary estates in the Great Lakes Region of the United States.
This video was produced to capture the essence of what it is like to be at Cathead Point. Of course, nothing compares to actually being there, sinking your toes in the sand, swimming on a hot day, or reading a book on the cabin porch listening to the gulls squawk and the waves crash. But, it's pretty darn good.
Cathead Point is for sale. To learn more visit EarthAsset.com.

Lighthouses - That's Why You're Here! - 灯台
Lighthouses on the planet don't know anything about storms. Nothing.
They don't know how big a storm is going to be,
or how dark it's going to get.
They don't know how strong the wind is going to blow,
or how long it's going to last.
But they and their keepers can see the storm coming,
and they know when they're in it.
They're built for it, you know?
They don't care how dark or how long
since they are built for any duration!
They don't care because they've got a light that's strong enough
to help anyone troubled by the situation. You see?
That's why you're here!
You don't have to analyze this current storm to deal with it.
All you have to do is stand where you are and keep the light going.
That's why you came to this planet this time,
and that's why you're here.
Spirit promises you that you have enough light
and that your lighthouse will not be destroyed,
for it was built for the storm.
In fact, it was built for exactly this storm.

Los faros en el planeta no saben nada acerca de tormentas. Nada.
No saben qué tan grande una tormenta va a ser
o qué tan oscuro llegará a estar.

A visit to the Rock of Ages light station
In May 2011, Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association President Dick Moehl and Executive Director Terry Pepper were asked to visit the four Isle Royale lighthouses to assist Isle Royale National Park in the formulation of their Cultural Resources Plan. This video documents their visit to the Rock of Ages light station.
Ice at Spectacle Reef lighthouse
Ice cover on the Great Lakes is critical in order to reduce evaporation. As part of an ongoing scientific program, two time-lapse cameras were placed on Spectacle Reef lighthouse in September of 2011 to take a photograph every 30 minutes to monitor ice conditions throughout the winter. We returned to the lighthouse in early June 2012 to retrieve the images. We were amazed and dismayed to find that there was only one day throughout the entire winter in which any ice was visible in the lake - Valentines Day, 2012, and that was merely some shore ice which was blowing past the lighthouse.
