It all started on July 4th—symbolic for freedom and independence in my home country, USA. I set off alone on my trusty BMW F650GS Dakar motorcycle to travel the world. I didn't know exactly where I'd go or how long it would take. After three years traveling through thirty-five countries and five continents, I returned home in California and wrote the book that documented that adventure in stories, photos, and recipes: FORKS: A QUEST FOR CULTURE, CUISINE, AND CONNECTION.
Then came a one-year cross country book tour in his legendary FORKS Van”, then a television show on THE COOKING CHANNEL, inspirational speaking gigs, and much more. All along I continue to ride the world months at a time, returning home to work and save for the next segment—always leaving my motorcycle in some garage somewhere around the world.

ETS2: Promods: Middle East pack: Beersheba.IL to Tyre.LB
Note: If you may feel upset or offended by showing (or the concept of) an ETS2 map in the Middle East, please skip this video. Any comments containing political discussions about the area are subject to deletion.
The Promods team has been working on parts of the Middle-East for some time now, and they have released recently the developed areas as the Middle East add-on pack. This is compatible with Promods 2.41.
The area was released separately so people who may feel upset or offended by the concept of an ETS2 map in the Middle East can omit downloading the add-on.
In this video, we take a load of barley from the Agrovista farm outside Beersheba (בְּאֵר שֶׁבַע) Israel, to the DHL in Tyre (صور) Lebanon.
We actually start in Ashkelon (אַשְׁקְלוֹן) near where we dropped off our last load. It is a fairly short journey SSW down route 4, then SE down route 34 before we get to the Agrovista.
We leave the farm just before 9 in the evening, and drive into Beersheba. Soon we are able to pick up the pace as we leave Beersheba going NNE past route 31 to the Dead Sea. We also drive by the Ashod turnoff, and eventually merge into route 1 which turns to the north west. This goes onto route 20, bypassing Tel Aviv, and merging west onto route 5 for a short while. We then turn north onto route 2 past Netanya and then route 23 so we can enter Haifa from the northern road. We reach the Haifa ferry at 00:41 for a 9 hour trip costing €432.
We reach Larnaka Cyprus at 09:43, and head around to the other ferry. This takes us to Beirut (بيروت) on a 6 hours, 48 minutes trip that costs €326.
We leave the Beirut docks at 16:51. The way leaves town on route 51 which goes south and south west. Sidon (صيدا) is not much of a detour, so we reroute through there.
Eventually we get to Tyre, and have to go around the block as we missed the depot entry the first time around. There is no trouble parking, and we get €7171 and 339 XP for the trip.
This trip was done with ETS 1.35.1.31s. Below, ME is the Middle East pack, JC is Jazzycat, PM is ProMods (2.41); TCP is Transport and Company Pack (1.23). Mods are as follows from top to bottom in the following order:

0:14 - Tašmajdan was designed as a city park by the general urbanist plan from 1950, with a sports and recreation centre at its lower end.

1:12 - Hotel Moskva. Terazije became the centre of social life of Belgrade at the end of the 19th century.

2:01 - Brankov bridge. Brankov most (bridge) is the most famous bridge in Belgrade, the one that connects the old center with the New Belgrade center.

4:59 - Kalemegdan Park. The oldest of the city parks was created in 1870. It is a green environment within and around the Belgrade Fortress, known as Kalemegdan Park, including the Great and Small Kalemegdan, i.e. the Upper and Lower Town. The monuments erected during the past hundred and fifteen years provide the Kalemegdan Park with a particular value.
5:23 - Belgrade Fortress. The Belgrade Fortress changed and developed throughout the centuries, it saw many armies, was the field of many battles, it witnessed the brutality of the conquerors and the courage of the tireless defenders of the city. It was the place where Belgrade started to develop. The complex consists of the fortress itself, divided into the Upper Town (Despot’s Gate, Sahat kula - Clock Tower, Roman Well, Statue of the Victor), Lower Town (Nebojša Tower, Amam - Turkish bath, Gate of Charles VI) and the Kalemegdan Park. The Belgrade Fortress offers an exciting view of the confluence of Sava and Danube, of New Belgrade and Zemun.
