Soaked at Niagara Falls
Ali and I woke up early and made our way to Niagara Falls. This was her first time here and my first time doing any of the activities, such as the cave of the winds and the Maid of the Mist. We opted to go without the ponchos, we were like the only ones, we got completely soaked but it was so much fun. The power of the water falling all around you is breathtaking and this was truly a great experience to share with my little girl.
ABOUT THE LAST EPISODES
~ Episode 5 ~
So Washington D.C. was a great time but now it's off to ride some roller coasters! We hit the road for a few hours then stop in and set up camp near Allentown PA. Dorney Park is just down the road so we make it there around lunch and spent the the whole day and into the night riding coasters and water rides! The campground was not to bad but we did opt out of using the showers there and we had some noisy neighbors that I had to ask to quiet down after they woke me up around 3am. All in all it was another great day with my little thrill seeker!
~ Episode 4 ~
In this episode of the Roller Coaster Road Trip Ali and I wake up in DC, make our way to Chinatown, watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Check out a couple art galleries and spend a few minutes at the Iwo Jima Monument.
~ Episode 3 ~
Last night Ali and I spent the night camping in Greenbelt National Park in Greenbelt Maryland. This nice little 10 acre park is only 10 miles from DC and just a few miles from the Green Line Metro station. We woke up refreshed, got nice hot clean showers and made our way to DC.
Once there we browsed a bunch of art at the Smithsonian American Art Museum as well as the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. This was a great way to dodge the sun at the hottest point of the day. We grabbed some food and we made our way to the National Zoo! Once at the Zoo we didn't see many animals at first but then the cages started coming to life. This has always been one of my favorite parts of visiting DC. We then made it back to the campground and decided to take a little nature walk and hang out and talk around the bonfire a little before bed.
~ Episode 2 ~
We started the day back in Kings Dominion and was able to get right on everything we wanted to ride very quickly. After a few hours in the park we hit the road and made our way through DC to Greenbelt Maryland. We set up camp at the National Park there and plan on spending the next few nights camping. Since we had been going pretty hard we decided to just stay at camp for the night and went on a nature walk.
~ Episode 1 ~
Ali (10 yr old daughter) and I head out on day 1 of our roller coaster road trip. First stop is Kings Dominion to take on Intimidator 305 3 times in a row! Ali is a trooper and is always down to ride no matter what.
WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE PLATINUM PASS?
Platinum Pass allows us entry into 14 Parks and on this trip we will be hitting up 5. We will also hit DC and Niagara Falls (USA). (Didn't think to get Ali's passport in time, Guess this is a problem with last minute travel plans.) We are taking my Nissan 350Z Roadster (Convertible) out for a 10 day 3350 mile road trip to explore, ride coasters and make some awesome memories! We will spend a few days camping and spending time in nature to split up the craziness of roller coasters.
WHERE THE TRIP ALL BEGAN!
I'll be leaving Central Florida and heading to the Raleigh area of North Carolina to pick up Ali. We will be making our way to the first Thrill Park, Kings Dominion! At Kings Dominion we take on Intimidator 305 and Twisted Timbers (Ali's Favorite)
Then we hit the Nations Capital, Washington D.C. for a few days of Camping. We hit up a few awesome art galleries including the Nation Portrait Museum. We mostly treated this like we lived there and even went to see Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.
Our next stop on this daddy and daughter, roller coaster road trip is Dorney Park. Dorney Park is a smaller park near Allentown Pennsylvania. This park was fun but there was a ton of people and we had to wait 45 minutes just to get in the lazy river. What was worse was the 1.5 hour wait for the wild water raft ride but it was by far the best version of this ride at any of the parks we visited.
Since the next park was Cedar Point we split the drive by stopping in at Niagara Falls and spending the night in Buffalo. The next morning we make our way to Cedar Point and ride coasters, including Top Thrill Dragster and their new Steel Revenge for a few days and end our trip at Kings Island.

SUMMARY
=======
Memphis is located along the Mississippi River in southwestern Tennessee. The estimated city population in 2017 was 652,236, with a 2017 metropolitan population of 1,348,260 including adjacent suburbs and counties as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. The city is considered the anchor of West Tennessee and the greater Mid-South region, which includes portions of neighboring Arkansas and Mississippi. Memphis is the seat of Shelby County, the most populous county in Tennessee. As one of the most historic and cultural cities of the southern United States, the city features a wide variety of landscapes and distinct neighborhoods.
The land of present day Memphis was first discovered by Spanish conquistador Hernando DeSoto in 1541 with his expedition into the New World. The high bluffs protecting the location from the waters of the Mississippi would then be contested between the Spanish, French, and the English as Memphis took shape. Modern Memphis was founded in 1819 by three prominent Americans: John Overton, James Winchester, and future president Andrew Jackson.Memphis grew into one of the largest cities of the Antebellum South as a market for agricultural goods, natural resources like lumber, and the American slave trade. After the American Civil War and the end of slavery, the city experienced even faster growth into the 20th century as it became among the largest world markets for cotton and lumber.
Home to Tennessee's largest African-American population, Memphis played a prominent role in the American civil rights movement and was the site of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 1968 assassination. The city now hosts the National Civil Rights Museum—a Smithsonian affiliate institution. Since the civil rights era, Memphis has grown to become one of the nation's leading commercial centers in transportation and logistics. The city's largest employer is the multinational courier corporation FedEx, which maintains its global air hub at Memphis International Airport, making it the second-busiest cargo airport in the world.
Today, Memphis is a regional center for commerce, education, media, art, and entertainment. The city has long had a prominent music scene, with historic blues clubs on Beale Street originating the unique Memphis blues sound during early 20th century. The city's music has continued to be shaped by a multi-cultural mix of influences across the blues, country, rock n' roll, soul, and hip-hop genres. Memphis barbecue has achieved international prominence, and the city hosts the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, which attracts over 100,000 visitors to the city annually.
