Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort And Spa Lunch Buffet, Mexico 2019
Buffet at Dreams Puerto Aventuras. See all the options including healthy & indulgent treats. There's even a hangover station!
Food: good overall. Be sure to check the schedule of when restaurants are open, as some were only open twice a week during our stay. Best lunch/snack spot: Seaside Grill. Best dinner: Gohan Sushi, Seaside Grill, Portofino.
The resort often held a buffet lunch on the beach each day (burgers, etc), but we did not try anything. There was also a large buffet at the World Café (breakfast and lunch) which we only tried once, but there was quite a few food options. The best food is in the world cafe buffet.
We did get room service pretty often, which wasn't that bad!

Xpu Ha Beach - Beach XpuHa - Riviera Maya, Mexico
After messing about on Google Maps, I found some gorgeous turquoise blue water near XpuHa Beach just past Puerto Aventuras on the Riviera Maya in Mexico. I tracked back and it looked the best way to enter was simply getting out at XpuHa and walking north along the Caribbean until the rocks came out. For those who dont know, Xpu Ha is a very popular beach, and as you will see, for good reason. There are some restaurants, bars, seating and sun beds at XpuHa but can be quite busy at times. So after arriving, we decided to go north from Xpu Ha towards the rocks. As you will see, we arrived to see a path, which we tried to take but were stopped by a security guard who said we couldnt go through that way. After speaking with him he said that we could go the other way. He then watched us walk almost all the way to the cenote we were after, before whistling and coming to tell us that we in fact cant go that way either. No problem, we didnt to return back towards Xpu Ha, when his friend comes and as we pass him, he decides to smack me in the back with his stick! After a little altercation with the loco locals, cooler heads ... mine ... prevailed. Ended up returning to XpuHa and enjoying the beach and a beer on the swings. However, it just goes to show that sometimes uneducated people just dont react the same way as normal people. Like I say in the video, when someone picks up a rock and holds it over your head, you cant really level with them.
Alls well that ends well I suppose.

this is one of the most dangerous places in mexico?!?
Is Mexico dangerous? We spent 4 days in a DANGER ZONE in Mexico with another YouTube channel to find out.
► We offer Tangerine Travels perks here:
In today's video, we take you along for our 4-day adventures in the Pueblo Magico - Comala, Colima, Mexico. PLUS our 2nd collaboration with another YouTube channel, Spanish and Go! You can find Jim and May's channel here:
How dangerous is Mexico? The US State Department considers Colima Mexico to be a Level 4: DO NOT TRAVEL Zone. Many people told us the danger threats in Mexico were not to be taken lightly, especially in Colima.
Find out what we thought of the Pueblo Magico Mexico (magic town in Mexico), Comala and also our thoughts on what some say is the most dangerous place in Mexico. What we can say is that we aren't quite sure why this is a city no gringo will visit.
We get asked all the time: Is Mexico safe? Well, in this video we chat about the real dangers you might face in Mexico and how safe or dangerous the country and state of Colima actually are. Spoiler alert - the most dangerous thing in Colima is probably the volcano, which is the most active volcano in Mexico.
During our time in Colima, we stayed at Hotel Posada Comala which we thought was a great budget option:

TULUM MEXICO VLOG
TRANSIT- From Playa del Carmen, Tulum is 65.1 km (40.5 mi) away, which is just under a one hour drive. From Cancun, Tulum is 131.1 km (81.5 mi) away, which is just under a two hour drive.
TOUR COMPANY- There are many tour companies that offer tours from Playa and Cancun. We opted with Ocean Tours Mexico, which was a full-day tour with pick-up and drop-off to and fro our hotel in Playa. The day trip included a walking tour of the Mayan ruins of Tulum, followed by snorkeling the Mesoamerican coral reef in the Caribbean Sea, and a traditional Mayan lunch in the jungle. After the hearty meal, we embarked on a walking tour in a dark cave with stalactites and stalagmites, and ended with snorkeling in Cenote Caracol complete with bats.
IMPRESSIONS- Sure, Tulum has a ton of strangely insta-worthy spots that have popped up in recent years, but we wanted to see, feel, and experience the natural wonders of Tulum. It was a jam-packed day that was well worth our money and was totally doable, not to mention memorable. As you can tell from the vlog, it surely did not disappoint!
Do you have plans to visit Tulum? We barely scratched the surface with the plethora of Mayan ruins. Till next time, Tulum!

Join us for our PERFECT Day in PUERTO MORELOS MEXICO even with Sargazo (Sargassum) as part of our MEXICO TRAVEL 2020 Vlog.

One thing that has plagued Mexico’s beaches on the Riviera Maya over the past several years is the seaweed known as Sargazo ( Sargassum). It apparently seems to be getting worse at times.. Typically, this is only something that these Mexico beach towns only have to deal with about 1 or 2 month a year, but it's seems to be getting worse. In some areas more than others.. In our opinion, the sargazo in Puerto Morelos didn't seem as bad as others we've seen articles. Even if sargazo is bulking up at the beach side of Puerto Morelos and emitting a sulfur like smell into the air, it certainly hasn't stopped the people here from enjoying the beaches the best they can. It certainly hasn't stopped us from recognizing the Puerto Morelos is still one of those beaches that can quickly become a favorite for many people. Besides the town seems to be making a conscious effort to keep the beaches clean and enjoyable.
We wanted to get out and snorkel the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world. It was absolutely incredible and the water was the prettiest we've ever seen

AMAZING FIREFLY SANCTUARY [THOUSANDS] | TLAXCALA MEXICO
And the gold medal of 2017 goes to!
Visiting the Firefly sanctuary near Nanacamilpa, Tlaxcala, Mexico was completely unbelievable. Thousands of them, and spinning and swirling around us and into the tree tops. Lighting up IN SYNC with each other like a coordinated light show. It didn't feel like planet earth, it felt like I stood up to fast and was seeing stars, it felt like I stepped into fantasy.
I drove 2 hours to stay at the eco lodge Piedra Canteada, deep in the pine forests of Oyamel. These insects show their faces for just a month every year to breed. This story might sound a little bit like the Monarch Butterfly Migration that we saw earlier in the year, but instead of flying from Canada, the fireflies are here all year round; you just can't see them.
The firefly we know, isn't even a fly, it's a beetle. All beetles have a larval stage called a grub, and fireflies live in the dirt without wings for 20 months before erupting out of a pupae (a bit like a cocoon) for one single month to have a giant sex party.
This show is easily one of the top 5 most amazing natural phenomena I have seen so far in my travels, and I can't believe it's not more popular. Bioluminescence continues to blow my mind. Glowing plankton, fireflies, mushrooms... I think it is incredible.
Enjoy this quick video of the Firefly Sanctuary in Tlaxcala, I don't think anyone has filmed it yet on Youtube. I needed special equipment, and It was a bit tricky to capture this for you guys.

The Pueblo Mágico Tapalpa amazed us with breathtaking waterfalls, a mysterious valley, & charming culture.

In this Jalisco Mexico vlog, we stayed in the Pueblo Magico, Tapalpa for a little less than a week. This provincial mountain town is truly something special. While in this Magic Town, we enjoyed the mouth-watering food of the mountains of Jalisco while soaking in the relaxing essence of nature surrounding the town.
So many people recommended we visit Tapalpa, Jalisco and now we know why! We just wish we’d come sooner! During our trip, we also made our way to Valle de Piedrotas, or Valley of Large Stones, what is considered the main attraction of Tapalpa. Later, we journey through some sketchy dirt roads to find what we later learned was the largest waterfall either of us have ever seen, and perhaps the most stunning thing we’ve ever seen in nature. This Mexican waterfall, called Salto de Nogal is an absolute MUST SEE if you are in Guadalajara or Lake Chapala Jalisco, Mexico. Heck, even if you aren’t in Jalisco or Mexico, we think this experience was practically unparalleled and a definite must.
What do you think of our adventures in this travel Mexico vlog? We'd love to hear from you in the comments! Where should our Tangerine Travels take us next?
These are our recommendations on what to see / do / eat / stay in Tapalpa, Mexico.
WHAT TO SEE / DO IN TAPALPA
1. Valle de Piedrotas (spectacular views and impressively large stones)
2. Salto de Nogal (two jaw-dropping waterfalls)
3. El Centro de Tapalpa (the center of town with lots to see, do, and eat)
4. The shops (poke around the shops of Tapalpa for some traditional wooden products, rompope, ponche, coffee, woven clothing, and other unique goodies to Jalisco)
5. Give some love to the many gentle and kind stray dogs.
WHERE TO EAT IN TAPALPA
1. La Villa Tapalpa (the best food & drinks we tasted in Tapalpa!)
2. Madre Tierra Tapalpa (TIED for the best food we tasted in Tapalpa!)
3. Paulinos (the cheapest breakfast in Tapalpa)
4. Dulceria El Checo (the best espresso in Tapalpa)
WHERE TO STAY IN TAPALPA
1. We enjoyed the Tapalpa Airbnb we found in town, a cabin-style hotel called La Huerta. This is the link to rent it:

why we live in mexico and not in the united states (part 2)
We're a young American couple who sold everything to live in Mexico. If there's one thing we regret, it's not leaving the US sooner!
►Start your free trial of Rocket Spanish:
On January 31st, 2018 we packed up our tangerine-colored Prius C and left the United States to travel in Mexico. 252 Mexico travel videos and nearly 2 years later, we are reflecting further on our decision to leave our life in the US behind to travel in Mexico.
In case you missed it, here's Part 1 of this video:
In this video, we'll be sharing more reasons why we live in MEXICO and not the United States. You'll hear us talk about:
- The safety in the US
- Why we love Mexicans
- Taxes while living outside of the US
- The political climate of the United States
- The cost of travel in Mexico vs. the US
- Aspects we love about Mexican culture, food, traditions, holidays, etc.
- Economic concerns
- And more!
What do you think about our perspective on moving to Mexico permanently? To us, it was easily the best decision we've ever made. We hope this Part 2 video shows you exactly HOW it has been such a fulfilling experience.
