Solapur Fort (Bhuikot)

Solapur Fort (Bhuikot) is situated on the west bank of the Siddheshwar lake, in the south-west corner of the Solapur city. It was built during the period of rule under the Bahamani Dynasty in the medieval times – the 14th Century A.D.
This Fort was occupied in 1668 by the Marathas and later by Nizam. Emperor Aurangzeb resided on this fort for a year between 1685-86 A.D. Silver Coins have been found from his mint here. Between 1795 and 1818, this fort was in the hands of the Maratha Rulers. Bajirao Peshwa II lived on the fort. The British defeated him by attacking Solapur in May, 1818.
It is irregular oblong shaped, fortified by a double row ramparts and wall with a 30m wide moat surrounding the fort on three sides. Inside the fort, has a number of ruined structures e.g. Shiva Temple, Old Muhammadan building, Mosque & powder magazine building. The fort is now in a dilapidated condition though the walls and twenty six bastions are still standing. Mahakali gate, small pond near Siddheshwar Lake, Hanuman and Jacha towers are in good condition. Unmarried Brahman boy was buried alive under Mahakali Tower and a pregnant woman was buried alive under Jacha Tower. There was Narbali (Human Sacrifice) done in for standing these towers (story as per Gazetteers Department).

सोलापुर भुईकोट किल्ला भारत के प्रमुख किलो में से एक है २३ एकर में फैला ये किला बहमनी राजाो ने चौदवी सदी में बनवाया था ये किला निजाम मुग़ल,मराठा आदिलशाह के कब्जे में रहा और और कई सालो तक अंग्रेजो के अधिकार में भी रहा इसे देखने के लिए हजारो की तादात में पर्यटक यहाँ एते है.
इतिहास करो की मने तो इस किले का निर्माण १३ वि सदी बहमनी राजाओ ने किया था.वक्त के साथ इस किले के निर्माण के राजाओ ने अपना अपना योगदान दिया. इस किला के अंदर चालुक्य के राजाओ के वक्त का एक शिव मंदिर भी है ऐसा मन जाता है की इस मंदिर का निर्माण १४ वी सदी के महान शिवयोगी सिद्धेश्वर महाराज ने कर्तव्य था.इस किले के मुख्य बुर्ज से पानी से घिरे हुवे बेहद ही खूबसूरत सिद्धेश्वर मंदिर दिखाई देता है.इस किले के अंदर एक पुराणी मस्जिद भी है जिसे ३२ खंबेवाली मस्जिद के नाम से भी जान जाता है,ब्रिटिश समय में इस मस्जिद का इस्तेमाल अंग्रेज अपने हथियार और दरुगोला रखने के लिए इस्तेमाल करते थे. मुग़ल बादशाह औरंगजेब जब अपने दक्षिण की मोहीम था तब इस किले में कुछ दिन रुकने के प्रमाण भी मिलते है.

NALDURG FORT OSMANABAD, MAHARASHTRA (नळदुर्ग किला) (HINDI)

Naldurg Fort is a historic fort in Naldurg town of Osmanabad district in Maharashtra state of India. Naldurg fort is named after Nalraja who built the fort in medieval architectural style. The unique feature of the fort is that it encloses a knoll of basalt rock which juts out into the valley of the small Bori River and with a long fortification wall with 114 bastions.Along the rest of the cliff on three sides ran fortifications. bastion firmly built out have deseed basalt and are large enough to carry heavy guns. The entire circumference is about a mile and a half.The fort has many bastions amongst which are upli Buruj, which is the height point in the fort paranda Buruj , nagar Buruj, Sangam Burug, Sangram Buruj, Bands Buruj, poone Buruj, etc. Inside the fort there are remains of the walls and some of the building such a Barood kotha, Baradari, Ambarkhana, Rangaan mahal, Jali etc. Though the buildings are in ruins the remains give a impression that there night have been at one time the specious buildings, There are two tanks in the fort known as machali guns amongst which important are the “hathi toph” and magar Toph”, The hathi Darwaza and the hurmukh and the hurmukh darwaza are the main gates of the fort. The most interesting building which connects the fort and the Ranmandala is the dam constructed across the bori river, the dam and the” pani mahal, which is built underaatch and in the middle of the dam were, constructed. During the reign of Ibrahim Adil shah II.
