What I Drank Yesterday Bianchi Winery Paso Robles
This is one of the up and coming grower producer from the Paso Robles region and they do have some vineyards in Monterey also.
In pursuit of his lifelong ambition of producing ultra-premium wines, Glenn set his sights on finding a new vineyard and winery location. After searching throughout California for the finest terroir to meet his requirements, he settled on Paso Robles. Glenn was impressed with the region's outstanding reputation for quality wines and its natural beauty.
In January of 2000, Bianchi purchased 40 acres of vineyards on the East side of Paso Robles and built a showcase winery and spectacular hospitality center on the property.
Situated on a gentle rise, the new Bianchi Winery has a commanding view looking west over undulating vineyards dotted with ancient oaks. The state of the art stainless steel fermentation tanks provide the winemaker the latest computerized monitoring system and the option to make select, limited production wines. Similarly, the new barrel room for the French and American oak has the capacity to allow blending and aging of small lots.
These wines are all varietally correct and quite good, especially when you look at the price tag!

Paso Robles 2010 Wine Festival tour
The 28th annual Paso Robles wine festival is not only celebrated park in Paso Robles but a lot of the wineries have events also for the visitors to also attend. Participating wineries in the area have a variety of fun and other things to see and do. We visited the Stacked Stone Cellars and found out more of the events. The estate vineyard produces low yields of highly concentrated, jammy, and intense Zinfandel fruit. The vines are sustainably dry farmed and head pruned on the west side Paso Robles, where the soils are rich in minerals and nutrients. The soil is calcareous and siliceous composed of shale, mudstone, siltstone and limestone providing the optimum terroir for Zinfandel. The estate fruit is gently harvested to produce the flagship and award wining wine the Zin Stone
Zinfandel, 2015. Bianchi // May 2019 Classic Series WOMC
Winetasting with Paul Kalemkiarian & Ed Masciana
Wine: Zinfandel, 2015. Bianchi
Appellation: Paso Robles, California
Zinfandel has always been the workhorse grape of California. It can grow successfully in almost any wine region in the state. But, when properly placed and cultivated, it can produce absolutely outstanding wine. This is a classic example, with its deep, brooding color and the slow release of black cherry, plum and strawberry aromas as the wine is swirled in the glass. The flavor expands on the aromas, adding a touch of spice and vanilla, until you reach the finish, which packs a wallop and more.

On the Road with Jo: L'Eroica Bike Ride in California Central Coast
Visit
Watch this favorite Italian Bike Ride in its debut event in the Central Coast of California. Jo interviews founder Giancarlo Brocci, as well as famed cyclist Andy Hampsten - the only American male to ever win the Giro d'Italia.
L'Eroica, or The Heroic, is not a race - it's a ride. Why? Because it is meant to pay homage to the glory days of Italian Cycling. The days when it was not about gear and technology, but rather about the rider and the road - this ride is about personal effort and fighting the fatigue. Watch for interviews with riders from Giro, Bianchi, and Wally's of San Luis Obispo, CA.
The 3 main rules: Bikes built before 1987, (no carbon frames), 20mm wheels, and toe clips...fatigue was certainly fought by these cycle heroes!
Jo follows riders on this 123 mile ride from Paso Robles, CA to the coastal towns of Cambria, CA and Cayucos, CA.
