FIFA Women's World Cup Champions welcomed in New York City
The FIFA Women's World Cup Champions have received a fitting welcome back to the United States. Thousands of people lined the streets of New York City during a ticker-tape parade in their honour. On a route that once welcomed former President Nelson Mandela to the city after his release from prison in 1990, the women's soccer team was feted for the second time in the Big Apple after a similar tribute following their 2015 world cup triumph four years ago.
The team has also used the championship platform to push for equal pay for women in sport.

Pope Francis Wows Adoring New York Fans and Faithful
Even beneath the soaring arches and columns of St Patrick’s cathedral, the atmosphere was one of frenzied adulation for Pope Francis rather than solemn reverence. Bishops held up their smartphones to record the historic moment, and the cheers, applause and whistles almost drowned out the choir. Earlier in the day, he became the first pope to address a joint session of Congress in Washington DC. He exhorted US lawmakers to open their hearts to immigrants and build a country capable of rising above partisan politics. And if that weren't enough, Pope Francis took New York by storm on Thursday evening. The city responded with a welcome more befitting royalty or a rock star than religious leader.

Waiting for Obama... New York City--(St. Regis Hotel 2010)
President Obama came to New York City on May 13, 2010 for a Democratic Fundraiser at the St. Regis Hotel on 55th Street and Fifth Avenue. Midtown Manhattan was filled with crowds of fans, and demonstrators. Fifth Avenue was quite a hectic scene that evening, with secret service, helicopters and droves of police. Chaos, confusion and barricades added a little spice to the Big Apple, as well as Sarah Jessica and Hubby Matthew...

Sachin Tedulkar and Shane Warne: Cricket Gods Visit Wall Street
Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne, two of cricket's best-known players are in New York City for the first of a three-city tour to promote the sport among U.S. fans over the next several weeks. Tendulkar said, 'There are certain countries where cricket hasn’t reached and that is what me and Shane are trying to explore...Globalizing cricket is our dream. It’s our vision.' Cricket has roughly twenty million fans in the U.S. and Canada but despite the games popularity overseas, it's still relatively unknown in the U.S. Warne said the big misconception is that games can go for five days and still end without a clear winner. 'What Sachin and I are bringing here to America is the rock n roll version of cricket. That’s 20-20 cricket that goes for three hours that’s pure entertainment.' It will be the first time both cricket icons play on American soil. TheStreet's Ruben Ramirez has details from Wall Street.

This iconic and much-loved challenge has already raised $126,000,000 to date and achieved so much for breast cancer causes in the UK. We now aim to do the same in the United States, and our goal is to help make sure everyone with breast cancer gets the care they need -- no matter what.
Register today at
We'll kick off The MoonWalk from our MoonWalk City at Randall's Island with a participant opening ceremony and dance party. At around 10pm, we'll hit the road and walk around the island of Manhattan, first heading south down the East Side following the East River, touring through the East Village and SoHo, and then heading back north up the West Side, along the Hudson River. We'll enjoy breathtaking views of the harbor and the Statue of Liberty, and pass by some of New York City's most iconic sights. Of course, there will be both options -- the full 26.2 mile marathon, as well as the 13.1 mile Half Moon route -- as we want to ensure that everyone can participate no matter their fitness levels or abilities.
So, if you want a fabulous weekend like no other, sign up now and enjoy a special early bird discount!
Stay tuned for more info about travel packages, with favorable rates for flights and hotels, and a shuttle service to/from our home base at Randall's Island.
The New York Nobody Knows
“The New York Nobody Knows” has become “The New York Nobody Sees.” City College Prof. Bill Helmreich, who walked all of New York City’s 121,000 blocks and wrote about, is turning his latest book’s success into a high-end, $3,000 per person private tour.

(14 Nov 2016) PRIYANKA CHOPRA MOVES TO NEW YORK FOR 'QUANTICO'
Priyanka Chopra is a global star now taking on the 'big apple.'
Production of Chopra's hit drama-thriller Quantico moved to New York for season two and the actress couldn't be happier.
First of all, I think it's such a stunning city, and with fall moving in right now, it's the right time to be out. I love autumn in New York City. I'm so happy my show is here. It helps me travel back to India really fast, because it's a direct flight which I'm really grateful for. But the city has insane energy. And I came here when I was when I was - the Empire State Building - when I was 12 years old as a tourist. I had just come to New York, and I was in school in Queens, and to come back here now is such a cool circle for me.
Chopra stars as an FBI recruit turned terror suspect who had to work hard to clear her name. In season two, she works under cover as the depicted President of the United States is held hostage.
The show does incorporate a lot of relevant topics around the world, I'm not really sure how much around the election will be incorporated because we have already established what the presidency situation on our show already is, but let's see. The writers always try and make it extremely relevant to current events.
The actress, born in India, visited the top of the Empire State building in New York last week. She took in the view and posed for photos with fans. When asked how she handles her international success she remained humble.
I just see myself as an artist, I feel like art is not bound by borders so I go wherever my work takes me and it's not just one country or two, whatever.
Season two of Quantico is airing now on ABC.

USA: NEW YORK: RESIDENT'S REACTION TO BILL CLINTON'S ELECTORAL VICTORY
English/Nat
Residents of New York city are either celebrating, hanging their heads in defeat, or expressing indifference over Clinton's big win.
Reaction is pouring in from the Big Apple over what some are calling a foregone conclusion.
The city that never sleeps took a short breather Tuesday night to witness President Clinton charge toward re-election.
New Yorkers crowded the streets outside the Rockefeller Centre downtown, as election results were broadcast from huge television screens several stories above.
As early results reflected an easy win for the incumbent, New Yorkers expressed little surprise with the result.
Clinton carried New York, a traditionally Democrat state.

7eme etape: New York
