Cycling In Milan - How to Rent a Bike @BikeMi
Was visiting Milan and a rented a ‘BikeMi’ which is the equivalent of any city rental bikes system. I cycled around the city and here's a quick video showing how to rent a bike and my take on some of the infrastructure. The purpose of the video is to help and encourage anyone travelling there to cycle around the city.
You will need some encouragement if like me you get ‘some’ local people discouraging you from cycling because like in many other cities in the world is regarded as ‘too dangerous’.

Bike Mi - Cheapest City Bicycles in Europe! (Milan, Italy)
One of the cheapest City Bike rental places i've ever seen in Europe! Bare in mind, it costs over $5 for the same time in most US States, and £2 in London... Crazy!
BikeMi is a public bicycle sharing system in Milan, Italy. It was launched on 8 December 2008 and is contracted to and operated by Clear Channel on the basis of its SmartBike system. The scheme encompasses 4,650 bicycles (including 1,000 electric bicycles and bikes for children) and 280 stations.

Milan (Italy) cycling impressions
Even though there are no real cycle facilities like bike lanes or paths in the centre of Milan a lot of people do use their bikes for every day purposes. The city of Milan allows cycling in the pedestrian areas and it created bike parking facilites even in places where cars would otherwise be parking. There is also a bike sharing programm that seems to be used well. Very striking was the fact that men and women ride the same bikes. As opposed to northern European countries where men and women ride a different type of bicycle.

►More information:
1) Instead of paying the Cathedrals entrance and going up the many steps to the viewing spot, go to the Rinascente rooftop and buy yourself a glass of wine.
You'll first have to go through the Rinascente mall, pass the several shops and boutiques, go to the very last floor where you'll find a cafeteria. Opposite to it there is a terrace! You're welcome!
We paid 4.5 Euros for a cecchi red wine (which is my favorite wine by the way) and they brought us chips, olives, peanuts and mini sandwiches!
2) The Cathedral Duomo di Milano was originally created in the 14th century but took over 600 years to build. You can visit the rooftop of the Cathedral for 10 Euros and enjoy the spectacular views and architecture from above. It's the fourth largest church in the world.
3) The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele the second, is Italy's oldest active shopping mall and a major landmark of Milan. The Galleria is named after Vittorio Emanuele the second, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. Completed in 1867.
4) Trattoria S. Filippo Neri: With ONLY 40 Euros 3 people eat first and second course, a side dish, a desert and wine. That's 13 euros per person! That's a crazy price for Milan! You can join the folk outside playing cards! Super cool environment you can't get anywhere else!
5) La Scala is an opera house in Milan. Built in 1778 it's regarded as one of the leading opera and ballet theatres in the world.
Greatest artists and finest singers from around the world come here.
6) Public Transport: we recommend buying an option that nobody talks about and its called Settimanale 2x6:
it costs 10€ and it allows you to travel twice per day for a total lenght of 90 minutes each ride.
7) Rent a bike: All you do is register online, select the daily package (4.5 euros) or weekly package (9 euros) and after you've paid, you get a username, password and unlock your bike. DONE!

Trams and Trolleys of Milan, Italy. August/September 2018.
Milan in northern Italy is home to an extensive tram network running on the odd track gauge of 1445 mm, known as Italian Gauge. The system is more than 170 km long and is the biggest network in Italy. Like many European tramways it features the use of large balloon loops at each end of the line to turn its trams. It's key feature in the second decade of the 21st Century, is the use of around 200 trams of the 1920s Peter Witt American streetcar design, of which this video focuses on heavily. These trams were first introduced in 1928 and at age 90 it is amazing to see them still in frontline service across several lines.
We also see the 4600/4700 series Jumbo trams in ues on Route 19 in both ATM livery and various advertising wraps, along with the newer 4900 series and the low floor 7500/7600 series on Route 9. The system is mostly flat, and relatively slow at a top speed of around 50 kmh, but features different styles of street running.
Milan also features trolleybuses, both rigid and articulated (Bendy Buses), which cross the tramway in numerous places.
There are other types of tram on the system, but not all types pass through or near a central location.

16 Things You Should Know About FlixBus in Europe
We're talking Flixbus in Europe! Flixbus = cheap bus in Europe. If you're looking to travel within Europe on a budget, we hope you'll watch our Flixbus tips.
This summer, we hopped on FlixBus 8 times during our European trip. Before we left, we had some questions. Could we upload videos on their free WiFi? Would we be able to bring our laptop backpacks on the bus or would it need to be stowed below? We wondered about lots of things but we couldn't find much information about the reality...just the official company website stuff.
Today, we cover 16 things we wish we knew about FlixBus in less than 10 minutes.
Have you taken FlixBus or another inexpensive option? We'd love to hear about it in the comments. Do you have questions we can answer? Ask away!
Know anyone who's heading to Europe and isn't a Rockefeller? Please share. Many thanks!

Bike Sharing a confronto
Abbiamo messo a confronto tre servizi di bike sharing: BikeMi, Mobike e Ofo. Come funzionano? Come sono le bici? E i costi? Domande a cui abbiamo risposto testando le applicazioni e pedalando per le strade di Milano con i ragazzi della Ciclofficina Balenga. Ecco com’è andata.

Milano Magenta MTB Ride. Italy
Milano Magenta MTB Ride. Italy. This time i choose the route between Milano and Magenta. I have done this riding with my Hardtail MTB. The route starts from the Darsena in Milan, near the Porta Genova railway station, keeping the Naviglio to the left, is entirely in the plains and also suitable for amateur cyclists. Leaving the station, you pass some places, a terracotta church and the Canottieri Olona school. In this section you pay great attention because the track is not always equipped with a railing and is not for the exclusive use of bikes: it is easy to meet runners, pedestrians and bicycles in the opposite direction. When you come to Abbiategrasso turn right and cross over the bridge and follow Navigli through Magenta.
