550,000 PEOPLE CELEBRATED HERE! | Zagreb Square & Cathedral | Croatia Travel Vlog
Croatia came 2nd in the football world cup and 550k people celebrated in Ban Jelačić square, Zagreb! Before the cathedral...⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇ Learn to travel full-time:
While Zagreb was home to the football ceremony, and Ban Jelacic square was the end place, it does sound like it was 550,000 people in total came out for the drive from the airport... so sure, not all those people were crammed in here around the square but cool nonetheless.
Just up from the Ban Jelacic square is the Zagreb cathedral, which is the tallest building in Croatia. Inside the church is stunning, as you would expect, but I didnt want to film too much for this travel vlog. Partly because it feels a bit sacred, partly because people are in there having private time and praying. Regardless, if you visit Ban Jelacic square it's worth popping up and seeing the cathedral as well!
It's a shame we werent a few weeks earlier to be around Croatia during the World Cup, but to be in the square and imagine the ceremony was cool either way.

WOW! SLOVENIA FIRST IMPRESSIONS | Zagreb to Ljubljana Bus | Travel Vlog
Slovenia is amazing! Ljubljana is the heart of this travel vlog, after a bus from Zagreb to Ljubljana, and is just an easy trip from Croatia! ✈Travel full-time like us:
In todays travel vlog we go from Croatia to Slovenia by bus for the weekend only! Just a short travel trip from Zagreb to Ljubljana to see this magical city we've heard so much about.
Ljubljana is stunning and has a real charm to it, hopefully that comes across in the vlog! After a 3 hour bus ride it was nice to walk the streets and make sense of why so many people had told us we had to travel here and make a few vlogs.
This is the first of our Ljubljana vlogs, there will actually be 3 different videos before we return to Croatia and spend a few more days in Zagreb before heading down the coast.

Anne Boyer pjesnikinja je, esejistica i predavačica na Kansas City Art Institute, koja u Booksu dolazi predstaviti svoju novu knjigu, zbirku poezije u prozi Garments Against Women (Ahsahta, 2015). Ova je knjiga dobila ovogodišnju nagradu Firecracker koju dodjeljuju američki nezavisni izdavači, a prikupila je i cijeli niz pohvala u renomiranim tiskovinama poput The New Statesman, Publisher's Weekly, The Boston Review. Mute i New York Times.
Uz Garments Against Women njezine najpoznatije zbirke su Romance of Happy Workers i My Common Heart.
Ovo događanje provodi se u sklopu projekta Prošireni estetički odgoj/ Aesthetic Education Expanded kojeg je nositelj Multimedijalni institut MAMA Zagreb, a partnerske organizacije su kuda.org (Novi Sad), Berliner Gazette, Kontrapunkt (Skopje) i Kulturtreger/Booksa (Zagreb). Projekt financijski podržavaju program Kreativna Europa, Ministarstvo kulture RH, Ured za udruge Vlade RH i Gradski ured za obrazovanje, kulturu i sport Grada Zagreba.

Philip Kerr, The Lady from Zagreb
Kerr introduced Bernie Gunther in his 1989 March Violets. Now in his tenth thriller, Bernie, decorated WWI veteran, widower, and tough-talking, somewhat cynical Berlin private investigator, has been ordered by Hitler’s Propaganda Minister to go to Croatia. There Bernie gets tangled up with the Ustashe, witnesses shocking acts of brutality, and tries to figure out how these events are connected to a rising film star back at home.
Kerr is in conversation with novelist James Grady.

Croatian Food Review - Trying Dishes with Truffles in Zagreb, Croatia Travel Food Video Transcript:
Hello there. Our first restaurant meal here. Let's make it happen in Zagreb.
So you were sold by a couple of items. What were they? Everything with truffles. Everything with truffles. Polenta with truffles. Pasta with truffles. Let's go in.
It is time for lunch here in Zagreb and we found a really cool restaurant like right around the corner from our Airbnb. This place I believe is called Fotic (Bistro Fotic) but I can't be sure because I can't seem to pronounce anything correctly in Croatian. Um, but anyways today we figured we would showcase some Croatian dishes and we're specifically going to be focussing on anything and everything with truffles. So I believe Sam you got risotto. Yes. I got polenta. And yeah truffles are going to be like the main thing.
We get our red wine. We get our dry reds before the meal even comes and I believe this is the Plavac or Plavac grape and this is the most common wine we've found here in Croatia and it is really good.
We got a nice bread basket that showed up. It is still warm. This must be complimentary. It is and it looks like homemade bread.
We ordered one little salad. Trying to get some fresh veggies and greens in our system. So yeah if you just take a look here this is just it is called the seasonal salad so I guess it varies by what time of the year it is and we are very much into the fall. Yeah, so we're getting tomatoes, we have a little bit of cabbage and onion, we have it looks like some iceberg lettuce and then over here yeah it looks like arugula as well.
The food is here and it looks amazing. So like I mentioned earlier I ended up getting the polenta which is really cool. They kind of cooked it in like a circular fashion and then sliced it and in between I have like this red cabbage and also he came to the table and he brought his little truffle and he actually like sliced it onto my meal.
Time to try your main the risotto. Before I even try it I've just got to talk about the procedure of this whole thing. It was plated at the table with a saucepan and then they came and did the whole truffle grating business. Then he added parmesan cheese.
Let's try that. I'm going to make sure I get a piece of truffle. I'm going to dig down deep so I get a bit of everything here. And you got the risotto with prosciutto, pine nuts and truffles.
It is time to choose our dessert and they actually have a display case with all of the cakes back there. We're just going to share one slice because that was a lot of food and the one that has caught our attention, for both of us, is called the Sevitina Torta which has custard, chocolate, hazelnut and nutella.
Time for price point. So that came to 236 Kuna which was 30 Euros in total. And basically 15 per person and that was for two glasses of red wine, a salad to share, two mains and a dessert to share. So pretty good value and my gosh the food was excellent here. We'd highly recommend this place.

That Time I Went to Croatia! #BreezerVivid
The crazy fun in Croatia can’t be expressed in words, which is why you’re just going to have to see it for yourself. There's a boat, there's a throne, there are Uno cards- all the makings of a crazy trip with Sarah Jane Dias and Varun Thakur. There's a little bit of Abish there too. So don’t blink too much when he’s onscreen.
