The town of Boone sits in Watauga County atop the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of

Places we went to:
•Grandfather Mountain-
(Grandfather Mountain is a mountain, a non-profit attraction, and a North Carolina state park near Linville, North Carolina.) Super gorgeous views and hikes. This is where the zoo thing was with the otter. As well as the fudge shop. They also have a swinging bridge that you can cross that is absolutely terrifying and I will never do again but if you are an adrenaline junky, I recommend!
•The Local (Restaurant)- A bar/ restaurant with really great American food. Super cool and really friendly staff!!
* LINVILLE FALLS- GO HERE! GO HERE! GO HERE! GO HERE! Amazing views, great trails, not crowded but not abandoned. This is where that gorgeous waterfall was and where I fractured my toe but it was definitely worth it. We saw a wild river otter (which we had been dying to spot) and climbed these amazing rocks to get a great view of the water fall. If you don’t mind a little hiking it’s well worth the trip! They say no swimming because of the strong currents and I definitely agree but if you are a strong swimmer or only get in a couple feet the cool water feels amazing after the long hike down!!
* Troy’s 102 Diner- Go here too!! This diner was ADORABLE! I felt as though I was in the 50’s! Great food, great service, great prices, had an amazing time! :) definitely recommend.
