The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University (Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya or BKWSU) is a new religious movement that originated in Hyderabad, Sindh during the 1930s.The Brahma Kumaris (Sanskrit: ब्रह्माकुमारी, daughters of Brahma) movement was founded by Dada Lekhraj Kripalani, who later took the name Brahma Baba. It is distinctly identified by the prominent role that women play in the movement.[3]
It teaches a form of meditation that focuses on identity as souls, as opposed to bodies. They believe that all souls are intrinsically good and that God is the source of all goodness. The university teaches to transcend labels associated with the body, such as race, nationality, religion, and gender, and it aspires to establish a global culture based on what it calls soul-consciousness.
In 2008, the movement claimed to have more than 825,000 regular students, with over 8,500 centres in 100 countries.
In May 1950 Om Mandali moved to Mount Abu in Rajasthan India. From the beginning, the organization's focus had been on education, not worship, and for this reason it renamed itself as Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University. In 1952, after a 14-year period of retreat, a more structured form of teaching began to be offered to the public by way of a seven lesson course.

Brahma Kumaris – The philosophy, perspective and purpose
Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, (Brahma Kumaris in short) is a unique, spiritual, value-based educational institution. The Vidyalaya and two institutions created by it, namely Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation, and Brahma Kumaris Academy for a Better World, are dedicated to the goal of establishing a value-based society. They focus on development of human potential, bringing harmony into human relationships and changing the attitudes and outlook of people to promote the spirit of brotherhood, love and co-operation. The institution is open to all irrespective of caste, creed, age and social, economic or political status.
In order to achieve the goal of establishing a new world order in which there is honesty, sincerity and goodwill, the three institutions help people get a clear vision of their goal and their role in the world. They give people knowledge of their true identity and teach the theory and practice of Rajyoga meditation, by which one can become free of stress, anger, hatred and other negativity that causes conflicts in society and degrades the individual. They offer guidance in the inculcation of moral values and divine virtues that enable individuals to experience lasting peace and bliss.
The institution recognizes the intrinsic spirituality of every human being and helps people rediscover the goodness within them, thus encouraging and facilitating the development of spiritual awareness through a process of lifelong learning. The institution’s purpose is to share its vision of a world where people live in harmony with others and to strengthen individual awareness of the dignity and inherent worth of every human being.
The education imparted by the institution, though visibly spiritual in content, is a blend of ethics, practical psychology, metaphysics or philosophy, the gist of world history and culture, sociology, political science and several other subjects.
As an international institution, the Brahma Kumaris offers people of all backgrounds an opportunity to learn meditation and deepen their understanding of universal principles and values through a variety of educational programmes and learning resources. India One Solar Thermal Power Project

World Renewal Spiritual Trust (WRST), a registered Charitable Trust / solar research centre and a sister organization of the Brahma Kumaris, is setting up a 1.0 Mw el. solar thermal power plant in order to demonstrate and multiply this alternative technology for India.
Energy is one of the most important requirements for this world to function properly. Its availability and regular supply are of paramount interest.
As we are all aware, energy and fuel prices are rising day by day and the negative effects of global warming are more and more visible.
After detailed evaluation of various solar technologies, WRST came to the conclusion to make use of the in-house developed 60m2 Scheffler parabolic dish in order to set up a solar thermal power plant near its Shantivan Campus in Abu Road, Rajasthan. For this project, WRST has teamed up with Fraunhofer Institute (ISE) and enjoys the support of Wolfgang Scheffler. WRST is in close liaison with various solar R&D institutions and manufacturers and has initiated all necessary steps for completion of this project. The WRST solar team has developed and built a 50/60m2 dish and receiver prototype which has undergone already successful extensive field tests.
The thermal solar power plant (solar only) will be the first of its kind in the world in dish technology in direct steam generation mode, with full thermal storage for 16 hrs continuous operations for base load.

Brahma Baba's Special Story | 18th January | Brahma Kumaris
Prajapita Brahma, who became the instrument of Almighty God for the establishment of the organization, had a very humble beginning as the son of a schoolmaster. He went on to become a renowned jeweler, rose quickly in his profession by dint of hard effort, honesty combined with focused intellect, became one of the richest men in India. He was contemplating a life of retirement and spend the rest of his life in complete devotion as he was nearing sixty. However, a series of unexpected, extraordinary divine visions of the transformation of the present world into a new world order changed the course of his life. In October 1937, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya was formally established. Prajapita Brahma formed a trust constituted of a committee of young women and surrendered his entire worldly wealth and property to the trust. The organization spent first fourteen years in deep introspection, Rajyoga Meditation practice, spiritual study and silence. These initial years of intense spiritual efforts laid the strong foundation for the organization. In 1950, the organization was relocated at Mount Abu, Rajasthan. After leading the life of highest order and principles, in which every of his thought and action was filled with divinity and became ideal for everyone to emulate, Pitashri Brahma left his mortal coils in 1969 to attain angelhood. Pitashri’s most elevated vision is always the guiding force of the organization.

Brahma Kumaris sect, now referred to as Brahma Kumairs World Spiritual Univeristy (BKWSU) with its headquarters in Mount Abu in Rajasthan, India, was started by Lekhraj Kripalani in the 1930's. After retiring from work as a jeweller, Lekhraj Kripalani also referred to as Brahma Baba, started a spiritual movement in Sindh which later moved to its current location in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, India. The followers of this self styled cult are referred to as Brahma Kumars or Brahma Kumaris.

Lekhraj Kripalani was a rich jeweller and diamond merchant originally from Sindh based in Calcutta. Ghosts or spirits started entering in the body of Lekhraj and started giving flawed knowledge. These were called orders of the God or Murlis. People started writing these Murlis and started spreading these out to their followers. As a result, a new cult called Brahma Kumari came in to being.

Brahma Kumaris consider Shrimad Bhagavad Gita to be true but their own knowledge is contrary to that given in Holy Gita. They consider that Bhagwaan Shiv entered in to the body of Shri Krishna at the time of Mahabharata and gave the knowledge of Gita. This is not entirely correct. In Gita Adhyay 11, Shlok 32 the giver of the knowledge of Gita says that I am Kaal and I have appeared now. It was actually God Kaal who entered in to the body of Shri Krishan and gave the knowledge of Gita. Now the Brahma Kumaris consider that it is that same Shiv who entered in to the body of Lekhraj and other Brahma Kumari speakers who then give the knowledge. This is untrue because the knowledge which is being given now is entirely different to that given by Kaal in Holy Gita. If it is the same God, then the knowledge would not differ.
Creation of Nature - by Brahma Kumaris
They have used the model of an inverted tree to explain the creation of nature but consider Lekhraj Kripalani as the root whom they also address as Brahma. This too is completely flawed. Creation of Nature is explained in Shrimad Bhagavad Gita in Adhyay 15 Shlok 1 - 4. Moreover Adhyay 15, Shlok 16 and 17 clearly explain who is the root of that inverted tree which is considered the Supreme God, where as Brahma Kumaris consider Lekhraj to be the root which is ludicrous.raj yoga

Forced Meditation is a flawed concept. In Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 17, Shlok 5 and 6, God says very clearly that those who do forced meditation are doing ostentations and actually are hurting me, which renders the way of meditation as told by Brahma Kumaris and many other sects useless.
