BNT NZ Touring Cars Rnd 2 Season 2016 -17 Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park Taupo
The second round of the 2016 -17 Season for the BNT NZ Touring Car Championship. Held at the iconic Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park at Taupo the former home to the New Zealand round of the A1 GP series. This track provides a great mixture of flowing corners and long fast straights. Three races for the second round of the series for both Class 1 and Class 2 cars.

2KCUP Season 6 Round 5 Bruce McLaren Motorsports Park, Taupo Slow Group Race 1
Starting from 4th position, the start was a little botched as the flag tower put up the 2min board after a delayed start. Alluva sudden 10 seconds later the lights pop up to start the race. Weird stuff. I was honestly expecting a good tussle with the top 6 cars on the grid but I gained the lead on the first lap on the back straight. Hardest thing was to get around the back markers without losing any time. First win for me in 2kcup. Very proud that it's at my favorite track. Won by 17.3 seconds.

2KCUP Season 6 Round 5 Bruce McLaren Motorsports Park, Taupo Fast Group Race 2
Started with the faster group of cars in the fast group because my laptimes in the first race were on a dry track. The fast groups first race was wet with the track drying later in the race. So most drivers would have put in a decent laptime in drying conditions where as some didnt and put me way at the back for the revers grid race in the fast group. Oh well. Caught up to a group at one point and was ready to make a pass and then made contact with another car. Pitted to check the damage and went back out. Finished 25th and 3 laps down. The driver that got sideways and made contact with me was sorry. No worries.
